Root [ROM][July14] Icy Fusion V5.0 | Smooth | Tweaked | Themed | Battery

these are all strange, i dont have any of these issues, its not your phone cause these issues werent happening before right? you could flash back the cab file to stock ics then go from there or run a different rom and see what they do, or just stay on 3.6 till any of the updates work for you
 
Nah all was fine until this morning when I flashed RC1. I did notice that google voice now works again, that hasn't since V3. Also voice dial is working again, but the voice is garbled on the prompts. Also volume control has no control over in call volume, only the ring and touch pad volume. Also can't load and photos for wall papers. Maybe bad DL???
 
i accidentally forgot to put in the ics gallery app into RC1, but the new version should fix a lot of things and i have the gallery app in there
 
Can someone flash sony ****** enhancement from pimp my ROM app and see if that helps in call audio sound?
 
As an aside, I haven't been able to flash the LG cab file or even connect via USB since, flashing to V3.
 
im not sure of the difference in roms but i was running slimdroid 2.0 for a bit an speaker an in call are very loud , i do prefer this rom over the others that are out, very fast smooth battery friendly
 
I agree I think this rom is excellent particularly with the attention given to the battery life issues of the phone. I think once its sorted out, It will be a standout. Currently with what I have that is functional, the only issues I have are the call volume, inability to use photo backgrounds, and that quick settings homescreen. I'd rather have that screen back as it's really redundant.
 
i dl a gallery app from market work fine . wonder if the the gallery s3 gallery apk will work . think i have one on my sd card will check in recovery let ya know

I've had this same USB connection issue when I first tried (and failed) using the pwnage tool (WAY before this ROM came out!). Someone (I forget who, now) told me to try rebooting the phone WHILE connected to the PC via USB. Something to do with connecting while the phone battery is fully charged. Not sure if anyone knows why, but that seems to be the fix 9 times out of 10.

I don't know if it's something with this ROM or just ICS in general, but I find I have the best luck with:

  • Wipe Cache
  • Wipe Dalvik
  • Wipe Data (optional, depending on how much has changed since the ROM version I'm currently on)
  • Flash ROM
  • Wipe Cache (again!)
  • Wipe Dalvik (again!)
  • Fix Permissions (this sometimes takes a while)
  • Reboot System
  • Wait for everything to "optimize"
