Root [Rom/Kernel]AWEsome Rom[V1.6]

anything above stock 1.18ghz has random reboot for now, you may also have a reboot before android tuner sets clock. this is a relatively new device time is your friend:D

Our phones are different. Some can oc just fine but I guess some phones dont like overclocking. Mine cooperates just fine all day at full speed

I am currently rooted on CWM. Will flash awesomerom later when I get done playing with what I have now.

And I put in a new Bootsound in the place of the awful Virgin Mobile one. Now my teenaged daughter wants me to root her Awe and get her a new bootsound. (yes I rebooted and it worked).

HAPPY.

Thank you dragonhart6505. You were very patient with me.

I have a very high tolerance level. I always think its pointless to make judgements and put people down for there incompetence. Some people actually dont know what theyre doing, and it seems like you may be a newcomer to this type of thing so in all good grace...
Welcome aboard the Custom Android Express! ^_^
Hope you and your daughter enjoy the ride. It may get a bit bumpy, but nothing is perfect. Lord knows the stock system was far from it

I have my awe clocked at 1.51 all day no reboots runs like a champion ..only issue is my battery discharging like a battery been hooked up backwards ..also wondering when this rom makes it to perfection if it will be featured on goo?

Any word on when the new update coming out dragonhart6505 ?

I have what I need to modify the apps/framework that I want as I please but recompiling them is giving me a hassle.
No official eta, but I'll have one soon as I get things working properly.
My biggest thing is the settings menu ATM. I'm arranging some things in an appropriate way to make it look nicer. Next is the lock screen (which I already got working...sorta) then the updates then the kernel. Its a slow process, but its gonna come together.
Ive also started mapping out some themed ideas. I'm editing some of the stuff now and I like where its going. Also planning on doing a custom battery bar for when the phone is off and charging. I'll make a mockup picture and show it when its ready

That's kool cait wait to see...I got a feeling your roms gonna be bad a** ,and my friends are gonna want it ...lol ..when its all said and done its going to have a unique ness to it ..like I said THANKS for bringing what you have to the AWE ..good luck!

Three days in. This rom runs games noticeably smoother for sure. Still get reboots. Maybe three a day. May be my hardware I'm thinking. Seems to be related to loud speaker noise. Maybe loose battery terminal? Springs for contacts seem good and battery is tight in compartment. This rom has no sd ext support correct?

Correct no ext support (yet)
And no it has nothing to do with your speaker/battery. It is the kernel. We have a new one that works pretty good, though the clock speed is a bit lower @ 1.78 I can't really confirm whether or not it will fix the reboot issue for everyone else because like I said my phone has taken everything we threw at it including 2.1ghz overclock, so well be testing it a bit more before its released. My phone is beast compared to everyone elses for some reason. Guess I got the pick of the litter some how >_<

Ugh. Settings menu is being a pain in my butt. Got what I wanted where I want it, but it crashes whenever I try to access that menu.
On another note I nearly have a new version ready to release. Minor changes, but hopefully some things will work again (mainly the Prl/Profile updates)
Gonna test it out myself and ship it out. If they dont work, I'll ship it anyway and keep working on it.

So how's that settings menu working out any progress? I also didnt realize that it was your YT video On how to root And install cwm it worked like a charm.

I was really looking forward to your ROM but when I followed the instructions everything seemed to work until the final reboot. It's stuck in a reboot mode. Just the little android and it fades out and then reboots again. Over and over and over. Had to go back to my backup to recover. Any ideas what I might have done wrong?

Jim

Well the rom didn't work and neither did the backup. Looks like it Bricked it!!! Tried sideload the stock recovery.zip and that didn't work either. Said there was and error in the file. Tried factory reset and that didn't work either. Just stuck in the reboot or the recovery menus. Boy this sucks.

What you need to do is surf the web and find the stock rom download that on a different memory card and flash the stock rom that way ..your phone isnt technically brick cause you still can access the recovery

Never try and flash the stock recovery thats gonna make it worse ..as long as you still can get access to cwm and find the stock rom on the web download to your memory card it still should work I know it will cause I done that before

Easy fix, dont get down just yet ;-)
Download the file from here and put it on the root of your sd card
Open up the zip and extract the Recovery.img to the folder with adb and fastboot. Turn your phone on by holding Volume UP/Power. Youll see FTM on your screen. Plug your phone in and open the command window like before. Type adb reboot-bootloader then fastboot boot recovery.img Your phone will boot to stock android recovery where you can install the update.zip and your phone will be out of the box new

Ive got some things to do over the next few days so I might not be able to push out what I wanted to just yet. Hoping to have an updated version this weekend. Sorry folks!

Dragonart,

I appreciate you efforts but you link didn't work. Goes to a website with nothing on it. Second, I can't connect normally to my phone. I turned off debugging without thinking and now the USB won't connect normally. I have tried a sideload with ADB and CWM but haven't found anything that will update correctly. I just got (what is supposed to be the original rom) and am going to try the sideload with it.

Any other ideas appreciated.

stop trying to sideload it in CWM. you could screw yourself even further. i gave you instructions to restore. you dont have to have had debugging on to do it the way i suggested. debugging is on by default in FTM and fastboot and recovery mode. thats what its there for. otherwise you wouldnt have been able to connect to sideload from CWM in the first place.

heres the appropriate link, the other one i sent from my phone so it was the mobile site. click support then software update and follow my instructions from a post ago.

I can't put it on my SD Card because I can't connect with the USB. That is why I tried the sideload. Now that doesn't work either. That download (388mb) I had already download and tried but now with the sideload not working I'm not sure how to apply it. I can't copy it to the SD Card unless there is some command that I don't know.

You have physically no other devices that take micro sd cards? No adapter no nothing? There is a command to push it through adb I'm not exactly sure what it is. Something like adb push update.zip > /sdcard/ from the fastboot mode i told you to get to (after typing adb reboot-bootloader at FTM, while your screen is black) probably not that simple. Hang in there someone should be on with the command

Also, did you try to extract the recovery.img from the update.zip like I told you to and run the commands? You should boot into android recovery and then be able to side load the update.zip properly from there
