Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Sense 1.5.4

Has anyone else noticed something like this?

Randomly I notice the phone starting to act sluggish. If I open kernel tuner I find that the first core has changed so that its max speed is 384mhz (or something in the high 300s). I can switch back to my default profile and everything is fine, but then after a random amount of time I'll see the performance drop and look in KT again and that 1st core is limited to 384mhz again.

I might try a complete wipe and fresh install...

Now just tried installing handcent sms. Installation went through just fine but every time I try to open the app it just hangs and then I'm back to my launcher.

It was mentioned somewhere by the OP that Handcent was not working with this ROM. There seems to be a couple of us who are still waiting for resolution. It was suggested to use GO or one other. I'm just using the stock app at the moment.

Must have missed it, Thanks.

Does Gosms have a group chat feature similar to imessage?

Yes that happened to me but I never found a way to stop it. That's why I had to quit midnight :(

Well...

My battery died today because I got stuck away from home without my charger. I go home, plug in the charger, and it gets stuck on the pulsing htc loading screen. Won't boot up.

So now I'm attempting to re-flash the rom. Hope that works.

Simple Google search? Also you have to sign up and post before a mod will approve you for download privileges.

Is there anyway to go back to the default HTC Battery indicator in the notification bar? Just curious not a big fan of the one in this rom

I'm not sure if the HTC battery is included in this method but there are many many options that you may even like better:

Follow these instructions:
UOT Kitchen. How-To

You'll need the framework-res.apk file located in the ROM.zip itself, it's not too hard to find, just in one or two folder levels deep.

Then go here: UOT Kitchen

Select the battery mod, choose which one you want, go to file upload and select your framework-res.apk file (don't touch any of the settings) and then go to finish to upload it.

I thought it was just me. I was on the way to work one day and my phone started turning the screen on by itself and launching apps so I restart it to see if it would fix it and that was all she wrote. Had to factory reset to get the phone to boot again

Just tried to flash latest Anthrax kernel. Got myself a nice bootlooping. Now reflashing rom, and deciding to from now on, to just stick with whatever kernel comes included. Ooops.

So, has 4G been working at all for anybody else? Mine has been broken for over a week now. I thought it may have been a network issue, but I definitely think it's an issue with this version of MidnightRom.

Not the rom, no issues in southern Ct. You should call Virgin, with all of the Network Vision upgrades it's possible that you may lost service in your area.

There have been times that 4g has completely went wonky on the ROM and I wasn't able to turn it on nor get into the 4g menu. When that happens, I have to do a full reboot to get it to work.

It must be situational because I've been running this rom as my daily for over 2 months without a single 4g issue.

I've had midnight rom for a while and I've noticed that my phone really starts to slow down at some points. I then go into es manager and I kill all the processes. This brings me up to like 300mb memory. After this it doesn't seem to speed up my phone at all. I have to resort to a restart to get the speed back. Anyone else have this problem?

Btw I have juice defender running in the background.

A restart is good once a day.

whats happening, and you can verify this by opening up Kernel Tuner, is that for some reason the 1st core randomly gets set to a max speed of around 400mhz.

You can either reboot the phone or reload the profile through Kernel Tuner to get things back to normal.

Haven't figured out exactly what's causing this to happen yet....

I am running Midnight Rom but when I gave Mobster Rom a test drive. I really liked how my phone shut off. It looked like a old tv shutting off. My question is how do I get Midnight Rom to do that?
