Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Sense 1.5.4

Ok so from every thing i've read i'll need to either unroot and lock the bootloader
or do s-off ??? is s-off the easier of the 2 i tried s-off a while ago and got stuck at the juopunutbear screen, so i didnt try it again.
 
1.3.7 is slick and easy like it should be. Feels almost like a Vista to 7 move (esp compared to 1.3.5). Kernel Tuner kept crashing for some reason, so I manually overwrote it and don't seem to have any issues now. Awesomesauce :smokingsomb:

Not sure why you would close the device back down.
I'm rooted, unlocked, s-off and just happy as can be.

On of the biggest difficulties of juopunutbear is following the directions to the letter. A lot of users get snagged on something as simple as uninstalling some of the HTC stuff needed to initially root the device. Check and re-check the preliminary stuff. If you really need help, there are some inhumanly patient mods over at the Unlimited.io support IRC (namely LadyX).
 
This is a sweet Rom that I've been following for a while. I was on 1.3.5 when the 1.3.6 update came out with the updates to place in the root of the Sd card and to install through the bootloader, my problem is I didn't update to 1.3.6 before 1.3.7 came out, and now I cannot install the 1.3.6 sprint updates through the bootloader, is says something about wrong image or something, I can go straight to 1.3.7 but without installing the updates through the bootloader. How might I install the updates through the bootloader now? Or where can I get the 1.3.6 zip back?

You can download 1.3.6 either through goomanager
or at Goo.im Downloads - Downloading MidnightRom136.zip
 
I don't believe that your problem is with running the latest version of midnight, the radio baseband update that you install through the bootloader doesn't check or care what rom that you're on. People have installed it on every rom and hboot out there.

For me I installed 4EXT Recovery and set up for S-ON.
 
Can I update to 1.3.7 directly from 1.3.5 through 4EXT if I'm S-ON? I will be going S-OFF soon but want to know if I can update until then or if I should just wait. Also I flashed Anthrax kernel 3.0.46-ck-1-Anthrax--g94d2b01 cgoodman@HP-EliteBook-2730p) ) null (whatever the hell all that means) so I can have Sweep2Wake/Sleep at boot, among other things. I suppose 1.3.7 has a newer version so do I need to flash the boot.img through fastboot or just flash the ROM through 4EXT?

Yes you can go directly to 1.3.7, if you wish to keep your current kernel just flash the rom with Smartflash disabled, if you want the included kernel then either use Smartflash through 4EXT recovery or fastboot the image.

I haven't noticed any significant difference, the only major change was the kernel and I've been using it since it was first released, probably a couple of weeks before it was included here. You can always run Better Battery Stats to see exactly what's using it up on your phone.
 
Anyone else having issues with Google calendar, youtube and play music? maybe it's just me, but they seem to update at least every day, sometimes multiple times. Just curious if anyone else is experiencing this
 
I can't open Kernel Tuner either. Every time I attempt to open it, it crashes, saying "Unfortunately Kernel Tuner has stopped". This started when I updated from 1.3.5 to 1.3.6. I used the boot loader for the sprint update, and then updated to 1.3.7 when it was released. The problem persisted throughout the update.

Any ideas?

Uninstall kernel tuner and redownload from the market
 
FINALLY got handcent fixed, along with a lot of other issues ^_^ I'm honestly really excited about this release :D

Changelog will be as follows ^_^

-Changed kernel to version 3.6.4 (seems to be the best with no random reboots or anything)
-Change default sched to deadline
-Removed a lot of unneeded files (audio, system, lib, bin, etc.)
-Small changes to build.prop
-Fixed some system files
-Changed install script a bit
-Fixed some missing files issues
-Misc fixes (literally can't remember all of them. I just went through tons of files and checked things over and over again, fixing small things along the way)
-Changed some postboot scripts
-updated default ad blocking
-update talkback
-update titanium backup
-update file manager


HANDCENT IS NOW WORKING :D
