Root [ROM] Mik3D - RC1- [10/31/2011]

I know it is, but he can do it himself it is not my problem he "upgraded" ;)

Having used both...my phone is at WORST running equal to his. Personally I think it is way faster and responds better but I am biased ;)

My brother in law traded his Rooted Evo in for the 3D.....I have used both.....Rooted mine seems faster. I am not a fan of the 3D pics that is no attraction to me. DT A2SD gives me more memory than the 3D unrooted. Only thing I might like to have is the faster processor. Its definitely not worth the upgrade to me at this point though.

No it is definitley not. This phone is so good now. the only thing I may consider is the Iphone 5 later on, and it would really have to blow me away.

Currently, IMO a rooted EVO is the best phone out there.

I know of 2 EVO3D owners that are regretting the "upgrade" from the EVO4G. Nothing beats a rooted EVO4G. However, I think the i*****5 is going to win over a huge percentage of casual non-rooting customers.

Anybody noticing horrible battery life with this new ROM? I barely got 12 hours today with light/moderate usage. Meaning a little web browsing, checking gmail, and maybe 50 texts today. Battery usage stats show display using a huge 64% chunk of that battery. Hell the phone was sitting idle with display off for 80% of the day!

What makes it worse is that I installed that speedo battery indicator posted earlier and I can literally see the battery percentage tick away every few minutes.

Weird thing is that when I first installed the ROM, everything was fine. Same battery life as stock. The past couple of days have been killer. No changes except for installing the speedo battery indicator.

Running Golden Monkey Kernel 1.1 with Supercharger V6 script.

Any ideas???

heck, i don't think 12 hours is bad at all.... :) ... if your display usage is a concern, make sure your auto brightness and screen time out are set appropriately... you could also try setcpu with the golden monkey kernel... set a profile for screen off at 245/245 min/max... like i said, IMO, 12 hours aint' too shabby with the new kernels just now being tweaked more... i'm still waiting on netarchy to come out with a havs-more-sbc... i would get 15-17 easy with his earlier work...

At first I was regretting not getting the 3vo when I switched to sprint in July and found root was not available, but now I think I have to agree. I <3 my Evo4g.

I hated like Hell that right when the android phones came into light I had just renewed my contract with Verizon. So I waited patiently for my contract to end and did my homework and Sprint+Evo=Win.

Have you tried wiping cache and dalvik-cache? I am using the Speedo battery mod myself and have no issues with it. The only things that were changed to make it 1% increments was the xml file to tell it what png file to use for display and the addition of the png file. There should be no change in anything that would cause a draw like that. Make sure your phone is going to sleep after the screen is off.

I get between 18-24 hours easy (moderate usage) on a regular battery with GM 1.1 and supercharge so 12 hours seems a bit low to me ;)

I would suggest trying a different kernal or tweaking a screen off setting.

If i crush my phone, I only get 12 to 14 hours. I have the same setup. Just seems the new roms use more of the phones resources, thus more battery drain.
Use the mobile network toggle. You still get calls and text messages with the network off. Only takes a few seconds to turn it back on. This will add a lot of up time per charge. I forget to use this trick a lot. Plus turn your screen brightness down, around 30 or 40%, no auto.

Anyone willing to make or show me a mod that changes the USB icon in the notification area to the little SD card icon instead of the white USB symbol when connected to PC? For this rom ofc.

It's silly but I think the little SD Card icon looks more clean.

It can be changed pretty easily but it will be the sdcard whenever you plug in the usb cord. I don't think it is set up to differentiate between charge only and disk drive. It would just be a matter of replacing the png file for the usb icon.

If i knew where the .png for that particular icon was stored in the rom zip file I could probably do it... but a nice pretty zip from you like the one with the honeycomb battery mod in it would make me all happy and stuff. BTW Love the honeycomb battery mod.

I will see if I can get one together this afternoon or this evening after work. :)

Edit: Try this one. Make a nandroid first though just in case. Let me know.

I'm running MIk3d with freedom kernel. In the applications section should I have "start task manager at startup" checked or unchecked. And as far as the v6 supercharger it said to go into the data folder to the 99supercharger.sh folder and click on "run at boot". I know it said not to run the initial script at boot, but now I'm a little confused with that.

I don't like live wallpapers but is it me? Or do the stock wallpapers for the Sense 3.0 roms suck.

So I copied my favorite black wallpaper from MikG and now I'm happy:D

live wallpapers are sort of neat. they would be awesome if they did not suck the battery away like it does. i always use my own wallpaper anyways.

Any way to make it when you hit a specific contact on the favorite shortcuts with sense 3.0 on mix 3d ROM it opens up a drop menu to give you the choice to call cell, home, or send a text as widgetzoid allows you to do?? Right now It only allows you set a default action that does either or....thx....
