Root [ROM] Mik3D - RC1- [10/31/2011]

i actually picked it up from some rom. i forget which one. i just tb'ed it. lol.
 
Well I tried it and i liked it but for me other than the animated home screens and a couple wall papers I dont see much diff from mikg2.5 I will try it again when the final comes out. I will say it didnt take much space or memory and every thing seemed to work .

The 3D carousel is one of the things that MikG3D has that 2.5 doesn't......you can show it off to your friends :)

It seemed to me that I got better battery life and response with 3d, gold monkey, supercharge v6 and setcpu with just a screen off profile, than I did with the 2.5 with either gm or morefreedom 8.5.

I also like the carousel, and flipping through the screens instead of having to go back. Just as fast as any of them, everything I tried worked, except the voice search thing. that doesnt work right on any ot the ones I have tried yet.

The voice search thing should be fixed soon. They have code for the next maintenance release from HTC that fixes it. It just needs to be included in the current roms.
 
That would TRULY make the evo awesome, I think.

It is fast, has a big screen and all, but that half ass voice search makes my eyes cross!
 
I had a weird thing happen on this rom yesterday. My mobile data wouldn't turn on. Tried widget, notif bar, settings. Reboot, same. Wipe cache and davlik, same. Went back to CM7. But it was/is a great rom. Really enjoyed it.

One thing I really like on the new sense is that the icons are a tad smaller (seems to be smaller at least) and the vibration seemed to be shorter when editing a homescreen.

I would bet that my problem would have been solved by re-flashing the rom, but I went with a backup instead. It was a 50/50 thing...

I had this exact same thing happen awhile ago on this rom, used the good ol wipe cache,davlik and everything went back to normal.

I think we should make a sticky at the very top of these forums that says "Wipe Cache, Davlik then ask your question".

Thanks. I was wondering why I didn't notice it in any of the other GB sense roms... good to know that there is a reason.

Though, I am quite fond of the smaller icons.

((By the way, has anyone looked at the Evo3d? I haven't seen a working model yet.))

EDIT: Also, thanks for that link to the Theme Walkthrough in your sig, was going to try and theme today but internet died before I found a link...
 
guys i have a problem..I added some contacts and can not find them in my people list.

I put their names and phone #s in my phone..their names show up in my call log, but I can not find them in my people list or in my gmail contacts list.

The sync icon shows up when I edit the list, but I go to Gmail to look and do not not see them. What am I doing wrong? This is serious because I can't lose these #s.

I checked it out a couple weeks ago. Verry fast but when i tried to look at the 3d pics and movies it kinda gave me that eye strain feeling like it would if you stared into the sun. The mechanical switch and camera button on the side are kinda bulky. I some times watch netflix when waiting in offices and also would miss the kickstand but thats just me. Over all tho its cool just not for me. Id like to see a new version of our evo with more memory and the dual core processor
 
ok i figured out that the contacts are syncing to exchange sync instead of gmail. How do I make contacts auto sync to gmail again and move these 5 contacts over to gmail as well?

did you save them as google? or phone?

The only way i know is that when you go in to add a new contact, at the very top will be a pull down tab. Select the account you want this contact to be associated with. (IE: Google, Phone, exchange).

I think there is a way to do this when you edit the contact also. Long press the contact in your call log and this will allow you to select EDIT and you should be able to change the pulltab in there also.

OK..uggh..yep.I saved them as exchange since it defaults to that now. not sure what i can do for these 5 contacts i need to move to google. make new contacts for them under google and delete the exchange version i guess.
 
So I showed my buddy (who has the 3D) my rooted Evo that is now supercharged and all that goodness...and to say he was jealous would be an understatement. As a former Evo owner he now wishes he had his old phone back so I could tweak it for him. :)

The 3D is rootable though I am not sure it has the variety of mods and roms that the 4G does....not yet anyway.
