Root [ROM][MIUI] Official MIUI [PORT]

OK new update (not all of this has been tested, but most of it has been)
please read, new install method now:
1)Boot into recovery,
2)erase/wipe/format everything except sd-card
3)install the new MIUI below
4)Now install gapps (download here if you don't already have it from before from any ROM)
5)Use ES FILE EXPLORER app (I already put it in the zip, not sure if it installs itself...) to make a new folder in /system/data called "theme" without quotes (this fixes themes)
6)Send an MMS to yourself and make sure it works
7)Now reboot into recovery and install "MMSMIUI.zip" (this puts MMS app back on instead of the regular one-only way to fix mms)
8)Send another MMS to yourself to verify it still works

Downloads (read instructions please! I will not answer you for not following directions)
MIUI-OM-05142012.zip (Download only if you are trying to help fix boot issues, it doesn't boot for some reason, probably bad upload.. (will be fixed on may 31st...I'm too busy))

Do we have to install all the old versions of this rom and then update to this one like you told me before

It worked fine with my phone booting up, don't install gapps until after you boot the first time, then reboot into recovery and install gapps

And install it NOT how OP says

wipe everything EXCEPT sd card, no updating.
 
it boots up trys to get to home screen the loops an gets stuck at MIUI android with loading bar frozen over an over again tried multiple times flashing it wont work
 
Aite, I wont be able to fix this till may 31, try removing the es file explorer. Apk in the apps folder of the ROM and then flash it. Its either that or a bad upload.
 
I don't know what the problem is here, but I know that you guys can just let it dot at the frozen screen for a while and it will go into some staticky looking screen. Then just pull the battery

it must be a bad upload, if deleting that apk I added didn't fix it, then that must be the problem.

Will it actually work afterwards though? Or does it just freeze again?
 
Hmm I've even tried to backup the 4-12 version, then restore the boot for it over the newest 5-14 version and it still won't boot.

ok that actually worked it booted fine. Now my only problem is that the device settings still force close. Or do you have that problem still too?
