Root [ROM][MIUI v4 4.0.4] 2.4.27 ICS!!!

Hey all, I've been using this for the past 2-3 weeks and I must say its awesome. :D

This is originally FERBIES but he has let swiper port this over to the EVO 4g for us.

Damn near everything works (except 4g... FERBIE says hes working on this for us though ). One of my favorite features is the dual signal icons, which shows you both your 3G and 1X signal strength so even if your 3G connection sucks you can know you won't drop a call if you have 1X.

Note: For those of you flashing kernels this ROM does NOT have HWA. Make note of that. I'd suggest the Mason Kernel.

For those new to MIUI
LBE Guard is you new SU app. It comes with root permissions disabled by default so you need to go in and allow root access before you try to run any root app or it will tell you your not rooted

A2SD cacheSD
Other recommendations:

COD tweaks

There should be an update tonight, so I will be sure to post that up as well.

Yep, I am trying it out now. It is very helpful that you have the fixes all here listed in one place like this. Helps one solve issues they don't even know they are going to have.

extra info is that one would have to flash DT to have a2sd, as it isn't built in to the rom. Doesn't have a large footprint though, so my apps fit anyway. There was one version that was more stable, wasn't there? Not the latest one either, if I remember correctly?

One thing that surprised me was the apps spread out over all of the pages like they are. been a while since I ran aosp, I guess that is common for them?

Nater was talking about using folders to organize, I just went with GoLauncherEx. It has an app drawer. I kind of like that app but don't use it much on sense.

Having the apps spread out like that is an miui thing. I really like it. I have a games, tools, and misc folder to help keep all my apps on 1 page

Yea, that's the thing I like about MIUI too but it can become a bit tedious setting up the phone initially and if you've never ran MIUI, it can be downright annoying figuring out where and how everything goes

Agreed. That's what kept me from it the first tine I flashed it when I was first rooted. I spent about an hour getting it all set up the way i like it last month and now I love it.:D

I'm still at odds to run MIUI for very long on my phone considering I was MIUI GB when I encountered the death boot but I continue to flash all these roms because it's too much fun:D

Fortunately, we haven't heard too many more instances of the death boot:p

Thanks bro. I found it to be stable. I'm on metropcs, but since there aren't really mms fixes for ics (bloodykilla has sort of moved on, God bless him) I use ics roms kind of sparingly. It's always fun to give these a go.

So I am running his GB build that was not released and it's 100% stable and I am curious about the ICS build but I have heard different things and the main thing is MMS. Does it work in the stock messaging app? I love MIUI and the look and feel is so clean and smooth. I really want the dual signal bars in the GB build but the version I have does not have them and from what I saw there is a old version but it was really buggy and the signal bars were side by side and it looked dumb lol.

Let me know Rxpert :P

I attached my current setup :)

Yes, MMS is fully functional on the ICS builds.

There were dual signal bars on his really old GB releases, but they were side bby side and took up most of the notification bars. This new one of top of the other doesn't take anymore room and is very cool.

Shoul've been a new update pushed out last night. Haven't been on XDA yet I'll post it up if there is one.

I made the jump and flashed it today. I love the dual signal bars stacked on each other, looks pretty awesome and it's pretty useful as well. So far everything seems to be working and without tweaks the launcher is a bit laggy so I am going to try some overclocking and CoD tweaks to see if I notice a improvement or not. I am running the .14 sbc fso non hwa kernel as well.

EDIT: The lag is still there :\ Does anyone know if you can get the dual signal bars from ICS to the GB builds?

Give it a few days for everything to settle in. It's lag free for me.

As of now there are no gbbuilds with dual signal bars

What all have you tweaked? I did the OOM settings but from what I read I should not have done those lol...

I ended up just smurfing it with the mason kernel. Only issue though is smurfing always borks my quick settings toggles on every rom

flashing now, not sure how long I will make it (not sure Ill like miui), but if I last a few days, Ill report back w/ a critique for everyone!

edit: initial thoughts..
-wow, this looks clean!
-damn, PITA to clean up all my icons into folders!
-ok, now its not so bad
-NICE, I can control music from lockscreen!!
-sd-ext not proper, a2sd wont work (fixed w/ a flash of dta2sd)

while it looks nice, I just dont know if miui is "for me"..lol..I REALLY LOVE the player controls on lock screen though

I am really trying to find a reason to hate this ROM to switch back to mikg, etc..but I honestly cant...lol this thing is my guilty pleasure..everything seems to work fine..even camer and camcorder
