Root [ROM][MODS] K3LSOMOD ROMS [updated 1-20-12] [ICS MINT THEME by PBOT Added]

Just a few questions and concerns.

I have 2 OM's and one had the reboot issues and one did not. I've been flashing these roms around the site and like these "stockish" ones. The current one that is activated with metro is the original non-rebooting one and I have the latest ezrider with the flashed ICS theme. I don't fully understand the throttle removal that its described as.

From what I've read, the rebooting ones were caused by the kernel of the affected phones. So I see you have the SW's and kernels mixed in for best results. Is there any sort of OC for this kernel already, or being worked on?

I do notice a FC consistently inside the settings menu. Settings/Wireless and Networks/Mobile Networks. Every time I choose "Mobile Networks" process android call something has caused an error. Not sure if its been addressed yet, but thought I'd share.

I really like the option to OC my phone and was curious if there was any advantages over the 2.2.1 stock OC kernal for the 2.2.1 roms? Or is 600 good enough?

One last thing, with the new ICS theme ( I like it!), is it able to he removed? Or would someone have to re-flash the ROM to get the stock "theme" back? Are there any wallpapers included as I don't notice any...sorry if any of this has been posted before, but I checked the last couple pages after the themes with the throttle removed were added and fixed.

The stock themes should still be there try going to your settings. As for the throttle b gone if you're getting force closes in the data/network that's how you know it's working. As for the oc. As of yet there is no oc 2.2.2 kernel that I'm aware of. 600 is ok if you're not trying to play games that require a faster processor.

Right I understand that higher speeds will improve cpu intensive apps, but what apps in general would call for higher CPU speeds? Cause the one that would reboot sometimes would be stable at 825 and ran great while not activated. So I'm on the fence on which one to use primarily. I know I can use the *228 menu to change phones, but haven't made the leap to do it.

I even noticed FC's with the previous 2.2.1. on the navigation an other things...that was on the non rebooting one on the 2.2.1 ezrider version. Still both great and I thank the dev for creating it!

I have a few questions about the status bar icons. I can identify them I guess, but the circle with a 3 in the middle would be for 3g area, and the cicrcles light up when data is being transferred? Then the one closest to the clock that has to lines like it could be a clock...lol.(EDIT: I have an alarm set, I'm an idiot)

What exactly does the data throttling do and why is it beneficial in our phone/service provider situation?

i know im gonna sound like a total noob (because i am) but....how do i install those themes located in the 3rd post? and yes i already rooted and have the custom rom installed. sorry if this is a stupid question maybe i just didnt lurk enough

Download them then flash the one you want to use like you did the custom rom. Except u only have to wipe cache and dalvik cache.

Games that run sluggish or not at all with the 600 mhz. Or apps/games that wouldn't normally even run on the phone before overclocking. As for the throttle b gone it takes the governor off of data. Which will allow It not to be faster but to stay at it's full peak

thanks. I did find out what that icon was for by the clock...it was my alarm set. duh. But opera seems a bit quicker but speed tests still show the slow speeds we are used to...

DTown/mndgme: Found these within this thread so it looks like OC is possible. (I haven't tried this myself yet since I just flashed the "base" EZ Rider ROM)
Added 2.2.2 rom all flashable add on zips will work with it also!
I flashed this rom and the data throttle and PG plague 2.0 kernel and I can overclock it and so far its running smoothly
@mikekelso421: I have been running this rom for 2 days now on my 2.2.2 with reappard OC kernel @806 stable ( Used scaling stabilitytest 2.3 OCed at 860, ran for 26 cpu cycles (or 2-3hrs) before the program crashed...) so far though no lock ups, reboots or glitches (and battery life is good). Great ROM.

Correct it doesn't speed it up it just keep it closer to the peak that metro has capped for their 3g rather than going from low speeds up to its peak.

Thanks jpr8, I just wasn't completely sure if the OC kernel would be compatible. I have been browsing, searching and posting from my phone so the long threads can be time consuming! Thanks for finding the posts for me.

So I flashed the 2.2.1 kernel and I have the OC frequencies and set it to my stable (729-748) and it seems ok. No reboots or force closes so far but battery has def taken a hit. I noticed for the day I used the new lg kernel included in the rom and the battery life was noticeably better. Going from 600max 122 min using on demand governor to 748max 122 min interactive or ondemand its obviously going to use more battery.

I will continue to test this rom for a while with the oc kernel and see if I encounter any negative results. But would this OM I'm currently using/testing didn't have the random reboot problem at first (only a fee times messing with setcpu and Google navigation ed's) But this one is very nice IMO and I'm sure it will help a lot of people that have the rebooting issue constantly!

I only noticed the reboots on my second Optimus after I had service active with stock rom and oc kernel. Haven't switched service to it yet to see if it would still work with the new 2.2.2 rom with oc kernel. I want it cause it OC's at 806-825 stable...lol. But haven't used the *228 to activate before and just haven't tried yet. I will soon and report my findings.

Thanks for the great stable rom, hope it keeps up and continues to rid people of the reboots!!!

You have to disable signature verification before you start the flash

Does your phone need to be rooted and or Flash a specific ROM to use the hacked flash version 10.1 or 10.2 posted on page one of this thread for armv6 - v7 processors? or can i use the Flash with stock 2.2.1?

No you don't have to do anything special technically but it helps to be overclocked which requires rooting.

on my non rebooting issue OM I have this rom with the OC kernel. Everything works fine and I can only find one FC. Each time I use google navigation it will load the route but FC sometime during the trip. ill restart the apps and it will either FC right away or randomly. I have some things froze and uninstalled but none that are on the "do not remove" list. Just curious if this happens to anyone else...

I had that same problem on mine. I'm running a ROM that I put together myself tho and what seems to have fixed the google navigation problem is just deleting it from your system apps and then downloading the updated version and putting it back into your system apps and giving it the right permissions. I think the force closes are caused by id mismatches but I'm not completely sure.

everytime i flash one of these themes over this rom the phone boot loops and i have to restore it. the rom works fine but its the theme thats giving me a headache. anything i could be doing wrong?

flash the rom, then boot the phone, go back to recovery wipe cache and dalvik, flash theme, and reboot. see if that works, it did for me

im pretty sure thats what i did but now that i think about it maybe i only wiped before flashing rom and not before theme. ill try again

whoever posted the Flash links..in this thread. I loaded 10.2 and it seemed it works mostly on flash banners and ads etc..but it really doenst play any video so far.. you tube website and the app works without Flash, but other sites that required flash kept showing up saying i dont have it installed. was hopefull but it looks like it still wont work..unless we can fool the websites requiring it to recognise the flash version we have installed.. 10.2 should have no problems but..it did.. though i am not using a custom ROM..has anyone else had any luck with other Flash sites? or even at the adobe site itself recognising any of the flash versions?

We have an ARM-6 processor. Adobe has struggled with even the ARM-7. The sites your having problems with are using a different encoding that the flash player can't decode.
There are other options like Skyfire browser which can decode some flash content (Crackle would be one), but flash games are impossible for it.

There is no flash player that will do it all with the ARM-6 on a mobile device. You just have to build up an arsenal of players that will do a little here and there.

I've found that it works on all the sites I've tried, given its a bit choppy, it's still watchable. I've used it on TV sites and to watch DBZ. :D After you install it, make sure to reboot. I saw on a post that flash needs the reboot to finalize. I hope it helps. Have a nice day.
