That's right. There is an app that can kinda do it but not. It's either in this thread or the DEV thread for the camera.
 
You are correct, none of the ICS roms for Triumph have video recording. CM9 also doesn't have a working FFC (front facing camera), but Bsydz has gotten it working with his PA build.

It should have video recording. I have since moved on to a newer phone, but even the older CM9 builds I used to run on my Triumph had full video and photo capabilities.

I just remember changing it to the front camera screwed stuff up, but that might of been fixed in the many months of development since I have last updated it.

Just checked my Triumph. It is running the build from April 15, 2013 :eek:. The back camera works 100%. Video DOES NOT work, as it crashes when pressed. Lastly, the front camera does not work. Sorry about the confusion.
 
Thanks guys. I'll give him the option. Subjective opinion time:
In terms of overall speed, usability,and stability, which do you like better? The latest CM7 build or the latest CM9 build? He wants his phone to be faster and more stable. The features aren't all that important to him.

Yeah, CM7 is more stable, has more of the phone's features working and uses less memory. It's what I ran on my personal phone and is what I left on my wife's phone.

CM9 is nice, but the camera trouble kinda killed it for me. I'm still trying to find time to work on it, but that's hard to come by.
 
I felt like I had a whole new phone with the CM9 builds. The whole experience was much smoother and snappier.

Stability wise, I never had any major issue with it running as my daily driver.

Unfortunately, if you MUST have the video capabilities, your only choice is CM7. I never really missed the video functionality, and was easy trade off for ICS goodness.
 
welp as of today I've officially recycled my triumph and am now a Galaxy s2 owner so I bid my farewell to you guys and to the triumph family. I hope one day, someday you guys can figure it out and make the triumph actually live up to its name

It's sad to see you go. I guess it's like when people move on in life.
 
Tried this, thanks for all your work. Two more things to perhaps add to Known Issues? At least issues for me...

1) Wireless access point doesn't work - Specifically it appears to work but actually disconnects cell data, I didn't even bother trying to associate once I saw it wasn't going to work even if I could
2) CM Encyrption - Doesn't work either, appears to go through the motions of letting it happen then will just sit at the encryption screen forever never doing anything.

The wireless does work. just gotta wait for data to kick back on. shouldnt take more than a min.
 
Got rid of my Evo 4g 3d, MT is a way better phone. Just got cm7 2013 build up n running. Good to be back.
Hopefully soon the cm9 issues will be cleared up.

@ Hiedied4me: i found the evo slow, big and uncomfortable. The triumph surfs way faster. The only thing i miss about the evo is the ability to upload wmvs to facebook directly from video folder in gallery does anybody know of an app that will do it on the triumph isnt even reading wmvs in the gallery.
 
I had no protector and even took off the hidden, thick protector that came stock. I'm not dissing the device and have no intention of starting an argument; but the MT had outdated touchscreen technology even at the time of its release. Not at all a bad device but definitely a step down.

The MT saved me about $1100 over the two years I had them. And that was coming from a fairly cheap service, MetroPCS. It gave me my first Android device, started me into programming (working on moving from an automotive technician), and saved me money. I was very happy to have it.
 
The touchscreen on the Evo 3d is atrocious.
Was #1 reason i went back to triumph.
It runs the new 3d pitfall better than the evo.
 
I know this is not the venue for it but Id be willing to sell mine for under $100. Half before and half after its received to see its working correctly. Just a thought.

w/ theyre triumph!! Youll regret it.

Note to Devs: it would be cool when coding the cameras video function, if u could get it to record in wmv or a windows movie maker supportd file so we dont have to convert mp4 and 3gpop formats. Ty :)
