Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

I did a couple of times when I used it for a few days, but found that it resolved itself with a reboot.

Has any progress been made on the GPS? That is the only thing preventing me from using this as a daily ROM.

I know I'm a few days behind on this, but I don't have time to check the forums on a daily basis. My service has been shut off since last Saturday, as I couldn't afford to pay my next month right away :( But I have found that my 3G works, though not ALL the time. Obviously I can't make calls or send text messages, but at least with 3G I can keep in touch with my girlfriend through Facebook Messenger :)

This has happened to me occasionally over the last couple years when I've not been able to pay my next month on time, and it has done this on different ROMs on both my Optimus V and now my Triumph. So basically I'm saying that having working 3G with "non-working" phone service has nothing to do with the ROM being used.

That's exactly what's happening well *was* happening to me...I was baffled that it worked but texting wouldn't work and after awhile my calling wouldn't either (it did at first) I was using textplus to account for the no text problem and the 3g itself even at 3 bars an up seemed like dialup internet..it was still working. what it's starting to seem like is that the working 3g even after no service could be the result of rollover data from your monthly subscription? Is that even possible..?

I've been seeing my phone drop to Roaming a bit more than usual lately. Rebooting does solve it, but that can be a nuisance.

Is there a way in the ROM to assign separate sounds to incoming text messages and incoming e-mail, or do I need another app for that?

I haven't personally noticed anything about GPS that differs from other ROMs I've used, but I don't use it all that much.

Assuming you're using the standard text messaging app, you can open that up, hit the menu button, go to settings, and change the notification sound for texts as well as add vibration patterns to distinguish texts from other notifications.

I just wanted to pass on a Big Thanks to all the developers. And all the bleeding-edge testers for this build. My wife and I just loaded up the latest Tester ROM and it is going pretty well.

My only issue is with the Picture taken, after taking two to three photos back-to-back the Battery believes it is dead so the shuts off. I cannot even power back on as it still believes the batt is at Zero. I charge it for 1 minute and then turn it back on. I have my 90% of batt level once again. (the level during the photo shots) There must be a silly digital flag being flipped with multiple photos on the battery system (flash was used). But, it is not hard to live with.

I know a lot of Developers are moving on to newer phones, but will there be any more development on this Rom? Thanks again to all involved!

My problem has been the code that was used was changed on the CM side. Ever sense then I haven't been able to make a ROM that will fully boot. On top of that, I have a very busy life that isn't going to let up any time soon (baby) and have switched carriers.

I was hoping that someone would take up the ROM and I could get them going. I'm sure it's something simple, but with over 250 projects to work through it's too much for me right now. I do have something going with CM7 though.

I have to say that this is one of the very best ROM's out here, l just love it!! I should have said more about this feedback but don't have time. Thank you very much for keeping this phone alive!

I have figures out most of the problems I've had with building and booting. On top of that I've had someone who has expressed intrest in helping out with work load. I'm still working on making the code fully downloadable to bootable. I have a couple of tests to run then I'll post back to say that the code is up and ready.

I have pushed up the changes so the people who want to build should be able to come up with a ROM that boots and builds. If you have any questions (the bulk of the code is still set by CyanogenMod) then holla at me and I'll help you work it through.

Do any of the current CM9 roms have working video recording? It switches to video and i can hit the record button but it doesnt record.

I'm having a miserable time trying to organize the stuff in my Gallery app, and can't manage to figure out where stuff's being stored in order to tidy it up.

get QUICKPIC from the play store alot more organized than the stock gallery https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alensw.PicFolder

I agree with millennium, but to get to your question...

your photos are usually in the DCIM directory, so start there. They CAN be in other directories, as different camera apps tend to make a directory of their own, so if you're using a non-stock app, look for a directory with a name similar to the camera app.
Examples from my sd card include: 100_CFV5, 100ANDRO, 100VIGNE, 101ANDRO, etc.

Also, the gallery can pick up files from ANY directory on your sd card that contains appropriate file types.
For example, download, Bluetooth, attachments, or the root of your card, among others.

Since one of the main functions of my MT now is a camera for use in the pool with a waterproof thing, so I need a fully functioning camera (why risk my new active phone in the pool) and this one takes pretty decent pics and video, on CM7 and below, is the camera issues fixed? I haven't messed with CM9 for about 6 months or more, I got tired of going back to CM7 for camera. Just wondering if it's worth the time to play with again, or just stay with CM7? The MT still makes a great 4" wifi tablet, camera, and remote for my mk808b.

Let's call the camera a work in progress. We have a couple of guys who said they will give things a try. I'm working on some stuff to make things better for them. I think things will probably get moving within the next week.

Always working on it:D

Is there a way to switch the Camera app startup so that it'll always start with the rear camera? I somehow got the app stuck in front camera mode. I've tried other camera apps, but they all force close while waiting for the front camera to respond.

I think clearing the app's cache will fix that. If not try clearing cache in recovery. Maybe someone will respond who know from personal experiance.

When the camera gets locked like that, go to settings>apps, over to all, find camera then force close and clear data then reboot. When it starts up it should now go to the back camera.

Hope this helps.

When do you think that the 3G problem will be fixed. I love everything about CM9. I updated from CM7 and I like CM9 better and that's the only prooblem I am seeing that I am having problems with. Other than that great job! Keep up the awesome work! Log
