Root [ROM] Number Two (#2) v3.0.1 {ZVE}

right, i got that and i flashed it but when i rebooted the aosp lock screen still had the ICS theme (2.2 default).
you know, two white circles for unlock and volume off/on.

i meant specifically the look/theme of the aosp lock screen :)

Aight.

If this doesn't work. Then try the upgrade to D since your "supposed" to be on B. Maybe that will work
i'm not on B :/ LGNPST and lg support tool both say my SW version is MS910ZVD despite LGNPST saying the update was 100% successful

edit:
tried option 2:
"rm failed for /data/bootlogo/bootlogopid, No such file or directory
link failed No such file or directory
"rebooting
"waiting for reboot...
cannot create /data/local.prop: read-only file system
rebooting again...

does that guide (along with the downgrade guide) assume your phone is in working condition? or it's ok if it's ****ed up like mine?

No the phone book method is for the worst of the worst.

This "should" get you back up. This is usually the last resort. So lets hope

EMERGENCY is grayed out and i can't click it for some reason. am i missing a step?

googled "lgnpst recovery grayed out" and found that. do you think it might be a good idea to start a downgrade, and unplug my phone while it's going so that it gets stuck on the "emergency" screen?

Yeah you could try that. I mean I think at this point nothing will make it worse.

I would try the downgrade one last time while the computer sees the phone before you pull the plug and try phonebook.

Gbiggie said he would teamview tomorrow also if you wanna wait on him.

Im hitting the bed. Good luck. Ill check back when I get up.

tried updating again, still said ZVD and still stuck on LG screen.
so i bricked it by starting another upgrade and unplugging it. plugged it back in two minutes later after restarting LGNPST and it was automatically in emergency mode.
it's now at 21% emergency restoration. wish you could stick around to see if we're victorious or if i'm going to metro tomorrow :)
thanks a lot for sticking around and helping, whether this works or not

Good luck!

off (actually on) topic:

#2 is awesome. it was great with the LD-ZVD minfree kernel, but i didn't need the kernel because i had autokiller pro, an app that does the same thing as LD-ZVD kernel (correct me if i'm wrong please).

so i switched to blitzkrieg kernel to overclock, plus it has the smartass2 governer which i like.

nope. once the restoration was 100% complete, i looked at my phone and it was stuck on LG :)

the phone rebooted at about 80%, as the application forced it to during the recovery.
when it rebooted it stayed on the LG screen, never loaded, but a minute later the 80% began to start crawling up.
eventually it was 100% and my phone was still on LG.

edit:
i'm gonna play stupid and tell them i plugged it into my computer and the lg tool said there was an update. i applied it then i rebooted and was stuck on the LG screen.

does it matter that i bought the phone from amazon?

Well I bought mine from wirefly and they got me a replacement so I guess you can say you bought it from Amazon. Don't know to much about their insurance. :o

alright cool cuz yeah i'm gonna say the update froze or something (act like i'm just the average joe) and the phone just won't turn on. so it seems like i'm not liable ;p

quick question:
i still have my latest backup of 2.2+blitzkrieg kernel. when i get my new phone and install CWM, can i flash that backup? or should i just start fresh

i just installed 2.2 like early yesterday or something, but it's my new favorite kernel. i just got this phone like 5 days ago i think. 4 or 5. JD and autokiller will sync, and i don't mind starting over from a day at all.
thanks, i just hope it goes well when i call the store and talk to them

this is the first device i've ever bricked :/ i'm kinda upset about it haha i thought i was indestructable.
and it happened over flashing a lock screen. i don't get it, is that a common occurrence or something?

sorry to hear that man.. :( it's not really a known 'thing' for lockscreens to brick phones lol.. where exactly did you find this file for the stock lockscreen that you flashed? is it the one on my thread?

O yeah and OP & Rom update!!

wait a minute. i just got android commander and i can look at my phone. it says root access ok, so it must be rooted still right? meaning all the updates i've tried didn't even apply?

i can see the contents of my phone (not just the sd card).
i'm in /system/app and LauncherPro.apk is still there., and it is debloated but all my apps are gone. looks like it did a reset of the #2 rom

(still stuck on lg)

i would suggest flashing LD EZ-Wipe (Full) and install the new version of number 2 and also flash exitrecovery.zip to make sure your not stuck in recovery mode. :smokingsomb:
