Is it okay If I use your #2 Rom and modify a bit (use overclockable speed kernel, remove some apps, change some icons) then publish with different name rom?

I know that you are very open to sharing your work and I will definitely mention your credits. But since I am very new to this so..

It will be something like below.

Let me know if there are some parts that I have to be careful on your work.

Just my 2 cents here, but I have noticed all the sluggishness was not from upgrading /downgrading, it was from not having wiped my internal card in a LONG time. All that build up of cache, tartar, and gingivitis. :P

If you choose to wipe it, backup EVERYTHING to your pc first, then wipe the internal card from settings, NOT from CWM. Don't ask how I know.

Lol, tried this, and the Esteem will not format the internal card.
After all the prompts, it just sits at the screen and does nothing.
On the third attempt, both the internal and external storage areas unmounted and remounted, no formatting done.

So I just deleted all the crap from the internal after I made the backup, we'll see if that was enough, or if I need to investigate it further.
 
to all the fc'ers out there LOL the reason it is happening is because there was a semi-huge change with some the dalvik props, so of coarse it's gonna get all screwy when you flash with no wipe.. but i assume the safest way without wiping data would be to manually wipe the cache & dalvik BEFORE installing the rom ;)

and for the mms guy, i totally meant to fix that to be honest.. lol so now im upset because i have to update the rom again with that fix LOL im obligated to because it's neccesary and i also am sick of the way it works lol, was trying to get us more room on the screen lol..

looks like im out of retirement.. damnit LOL

and for the guy who wnts to distribute something! go for it!! lol jus be sure to give credit where it's due! :D im not the only person who has contributed to this rom ;)

awwwww, didnt mean to pull ya out of retirement.....but if you are irritated with the mms too, then.....:D

seriously, thanks so much for even considering a fix after retirement!

yea its not a bad idea to clean up the internal and external,every now and then,all kinds of useless stuff is on them,i cleaned mine up and my opinion,made a big difference ,just like the forum family states(BACK UP FIRST) then give it a try,and see for yourselfs..:)
 
Regarding Swype.. not a flashable version out, but new beta works fine.. setup a free account at Swype.com/getswype .. believe that's the link.. otherwise goto Swype.com and click get Swype ;)
 
Hello, i'm on ROM #2 2.6, last night i put to sleep my phone at 100% battery this morning i check and it was on 81% so its draining while sleeping. Any advice?. I did full wipe (even formatted system) before install and full wipe after installed the rom, i also formatted my internal sdcard i don't have external sdcard.

What do you mean when you say you put your phone to sleep? did you turn your phone completely off?

The phone is still going to use battery even though the screen is off. If you are not concerned about missing phone calls just put your phone on airplane mode and it will use way less battery.

i Forgot to mention that i do have it on airplane mode all the time as im using it in south america with Wifi only.

no flashable version??? I d/led the Swype from the addon thread and its a flash
 
Mine hasn't been that bad, but is there a lot of coverage in the area of your drive?
While the phone is searching for a signal, it uses a lot of juice.
Over night, mine uses about 20% while not doing anything, but it only drops that fast when it has a low signal or no signal. Or I am using it to play a game/browse the Web/check the forums...

This is what my signal looks like. Good strength according to the green bars from my knowledge.
Usually #2 would last 12-14hrs.
This is fresh install, wiped, factory reset, wiped after. No apps installed. Sync off, wifi, gps, bt, no animations, 30sec timeout.
Same way i've always had it.
