Root [ROM] Number Two (#2) v3.0.1 {ZVE}

Hi I just flashed the latest #2 rom and when I run the Visual Voicemail app it automatically tries to activate the Visual Voicemail and fails with a 'problem activating Visual Voicemail service'. Worked fine pre Rom flash.

Also prl update fails but that's not as important as the Visual voicemail.

Metro support has been laughably unhelpful.

Thanks for any suggestions

My v voicemail hasn't worked since a week after I got metro. Its cuz I changed my number and metro won't fix it

I just flashed to the this rom a week ago and I'm still having issues with the battery dying fast, I downloaded DS Battery saver and over night while the phone is sleeping I lose about 20%

But when I call ppl, or use the media ... just being on the phone 30mins could drop my battery power at least 12%... I'm like what the hell...it wasn't even this bad on the stock rom from metro.

I was also having big battery drain with version 2.7 of #2.
That's why when I first spoke to you I referenced version 2.5 which is great on battery.

I was having the same issue with 2.7. I noticed that the Google Maps app was draining the battery. At first I would just force close it but then it would pop up randomly at times. I did a data/cache/dalvik wipe and reinstalled #2 2.7 and that fixed it.

I used GSam Battery Monitor from the play market to see which apps consumed the most battery. My average battery life is about 19 hrs. Which I think is fantastic since I use it quite a bit.

I tryed to tell u ways to repair but i said since u was new try another #2 yes the 2.5 or the 253 . But the 2.7 is missing amplets if u push them amplets u would see battery stay good or u can flash another kernel to repair the battery problem . And if u freeze the drm and dun will also save if you have juice defender paid version u have more options

I been on ZVB ever since I got phone back in October 2011. When phone gave me major issues (overheating, freezing up, excessive reboots) I decided to upgrade to ZVD and now everythings much smoother. I read in the OP that it has the ICS swipe to remove. When I open apps up I hit the home button to get out. Would the apps still be running in the background though? Only thing I noticed that can be swiped is in the notification panel (like if you got a text or missed call you swipe and the notification goes away) Unless if thats what you mean by in the OP. GREAT ROM BTW AWESOME JOB

I think I'm going to try the 2.5 version later today and check it out. Is it bad to downgrade on ROMs is it? Just go through the same Factory data, delvik/cache wipe as always?

I just flashed this bout 2 days ago and I actually been getting way better battery results then when I was with ZVB LD-ICK. Right now after 22hrs I'm on 28% with some calls texts and web browsing. Ever try the battery calibration method to see if that helps?

I tried the calibration method and everytime I did it, the percentage would only drop to 98%. I tried it twice!

Just the usual...

make backup
factory/data reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache

Of course you're gonna get better battery with ZVD firmware over ZVB since ZVD has improved battery life. The point was that on #2 rom, v2.5 has better battery than v2.7, and battery calibration has nothing to do with it.

Doesn't matter though... I don't have this phone anymore.

The battery life on the 2.5 is wayyyyyyyyyy better. Only problem is that when my phone struggles to get a signal.. the battery drains fast. My phone was off the charger for 5hrs and only went down 9% at home. When I got to work in just 3 hrs my phone went from 85% to 65% even with Juice Defender. Metro needs better towers.

I see another happy user . But its a way to fix that just do a update . *228 When u are at work . Make sure when u do the *228 that u are no where near the home u live in travel back home see if the signal is better . I did this while at work one day notice that the phone signal was better . But if u in the house use your home wifi cause u will save data charges

i downloaded 2.8 laswtnight and so far no issues, but still need lil more time to adjust to it and tinker, but so far so good thanks ldifta, thought you aborted us lol

My gf esteem was in test mode and that phone was never rooted!?? B4 that phone she was rooted but whent ib to test mode also and metro gave her a another one. This last time metro fixed test mode at corporate. Wats up with test mode??

No idea:confused:
Have been rocking this esteem for 1 & 1/2 yrs and have never gone into the dreaded<----Nope ain't gonna say it!
Must be because I've had the #2 flashed on it 98% of the time

Number 2 is the only ROM for Esteem that I've ever been happy with. I'm looking forward to 2.8 final -- I'm still on 2.6 but I'm having issues and need to reflash. I'm staying with this phone for another year or two until the network gets upgraded and T-metro figures out wtf they are going to do.

Just upgraded from ZVB to ZVD, re-rooted and flashed #2 V2.7. Smooth as silk so far!! Only issue is that may have ganked my external SD card. It plays media files but shows 0.0 available and I cant restore apps. No big deal, time for a bigger card anyway. THANKS TO LDRIFTA, PLAYFULGOD AND ALL THOSE INVOLVED FOR KEEPING OUR ESTEEMS FRESH AND COOL WAAAAY LONGER THAN MOST PHONES!!!
