Root [ROM] Number Two (#2) v3.0.1 {ZVE}

nah.. sadly i dont to play with many devices.. mostly i work on ones i own(d) because i have a better idea of how they work.. but even when i tried doing stuff for the connect it was a nightmare because i couldn't personally test anything it just took forever lol and now im trying give them an updated #2 on the vv5 firmware

hard to do what i cant see :D
 
I updated my esteem to ZVE, roote it via the TRWP (I think), I have superuser showing,but when I go to Rom Manager, it says I need to have a rooted phone. How can I tell if it is rooted or not? I am desperate to get rid of all that bloatware. I downloaded rom no 2 for ZVE but cannot install that either. I must be getting really stupid as I no longer have a clue.:o

Go to the market and vheck for a root checker. Also when you went into Rom Manager did a pop up say to allow root access for Rom Manager?
 
Downloading the ROM got tired already from stock there is not much but keep installing more and more apps lol:p, so am downloading the rom :thumbup:. I wish someone could come up with a fast kernel. If anyone knows of a working kernel for zve please let me know :)

I used the root tool from www.playfuldroidz.com/wiki/how_to_root_lg_esteem under root tools

you dont HAVE to unroot to update, i just didn't think it was possible to get it on any of the current custom roms..

BUT you SHOULD be on zve if your gonna flash roms for zve.. just common sense lol

but anyways, i discovered a possible work around for flashing #2 (ZVD) over ZVE.. which also comes to play in the whole updating to zve prior to flashing thing..

in the new zve base there are a few extra files for use with the radio updates.. so we could possibly include these files into the old rom base(s) to make them work..
one i can assure yiou is important is the folder lte_images found in system/etc..

i had to create and extra line of permissions for it to get data working on new rom because i was using an old script.. so maybe adding the files & permissions to #2 it could work?

but i wont be able to confirm if they will work properly with the old zvd framework, and again it most likely will only work on a device updated to zve already.. the baseband version is related to your service i believe.. and the baseband is not something you can change in a rom, it is outside the system directory on our devices

so there still much work to be done and things to be tested before we can just spit out roms lol, but i assure you im doing what i can.. i provided you all with a simple zve base to tinker with to get started lol

by the way i went threw the same,said i was rooted but rom manager said i wasnt,but root checker said i was,id go bk and start at the beg. of that thread and read it,few pep had same prob
 
ROM is working nice so far :D, would be nice to be able to tweak CPU to make it less laggy :p. So if anybody knows about a fast kernel to work with zve ;)

best i can do is a minfree adjustment on stock kernel.. which is basically what the speed kernel is... :D so gimme some time.. gotta help out the connect forums first ;)
 
Ldrifta just would like to let you know ZVE Rom #2 Beta is working like a Charm, any word on the screenshot fix. And a big Thank You for keeping the Esteem Alive.

I believe you still need the by fix ;), still need to try 3.0.1 but 3.0 works nice and if u change LCD density works better,

question.......lately my wifi has sucked,i use to be able to walk all around my house,hell i used to be able to pick it up on my street,from my house to the street is about 150ft then probably 60 more feet down my street id have my wifi,but now i can lose it 20 ft from wireless router(brighthouse) hello friend my ass lol ,anyone else having issues,im on numbertwo v3.0 beta,will be updating to newest zve shortly ,maybe a difference

im glad i could of helped,back in the day links started going down,and i believe ldrifta had them posted,but i think his computer or external drive went down,so one day i thought what if..... and what do ya know,it paid off on my end to have them all stored,so when i kept seeing pep asking cause they cant find a link or something,i figured id be more than happy to help this esteem family out!!!! its a great community here,pep will go out of there way to help !!!! :D
 
I posted about this its something missing and its the lte images folder from the new zve build/rom . And i take it your trying to get the zvd plauge kernel to work with the zve . It wont .
 
if ur on zve then zve roms,or galaxy will work,if u want plaque you must dwn grade bk to zvd,ldrifta is doing his best to make all happy,zve is still in the works like evert other zvb zvc zvd zve just give it some time,and not try anything u might regret,just hang in there !!!
