Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

Hey, Isaac, this build is amazing, as I stated earlier. But one major problem is battery life- I was down to 50% by lunch, where as normally I'm still at 90-95% with earlier builds. I'm draining 10-20 percent per hour, with the screen off, and with WiFi off. There has to be some bug or something really sucking the power out of this phone. It wasn't happening this fast before 10/30. Otherwise, awesome build! :D

same here :(

I had my phone in my cupholder and while driving the phone reset. I wasn't using it so not sure what caused it, but wifi was on.

@Isaac,

\system\bin\wpa_supplicant
Did you change this file at all in the 10-30 build from the 10-23 build? Or was it just brought over from your port?

This file is what's causing this build to not see the hidden SSID's anymore. As a test, I replaced this file in the 10-30 build with the file from the 10-23 build and I can see hidden SSID's again. I haven't tested any further to see if that broke anything so just wondering what changes were between this file in the two builds?

Thanks.

Also, as a side note, this file also allows the latest CM7 to see hidden SSID's so something in this same file in CM7 is the issue there. I commented on the bug tracker on the issue.

And it's nice to have internet back!

I'll have to revert to the last build until battery is fixed D:

Nah, this is too awesome. I guess I can live with it for a few days.

My experience with battery life on the latest build has been completely the opposite. I charged my phone today to about 70%. I accidentally left wifi on for most of the day and I still have about 25% left.

Either way, I will merge TG's latest changes and build a new kernel for the next build. We'll see if that helps.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I missed that. I'll include the right supplicant binary in the next build.

So real strange my phone still skipps thru random tracks really fast for a few seconds, BUTTT it only happens in my car? would this make any sense to anyone? why would it only happen in my car? only difference is the 3.5 mm plug im using.

Updated changelog post on first page (2nd post). This is a preview of what's coming in the next build.

Happy MIUI-ing, everyone.

Make sure you don't have the "Shake to skip" option enabled under Music settings.
That's the only thing that pops to mind right now.

Hey Isaac,

Any progress on hdmi? I had my one moment where I wanted to use it and I realized oh it doesn't work yet. Just curious.

Thanks for your awesome work!

No, HDMI work is being done in CM7 first. I started it, but people still wanted MIUI to continue so that's where my focus is. There's no guarantee it can be ported to MIUI either.

Hey Isaac I have a COMPLETELY UNRELATED question that I wanted to ask you. It actually pertains to the marine link you seem to have. Tried to PM you but you have 'em disabled. If you ever have a free moment to talk for a sec let me know. Thanks!

I have it set to only receive PMs from contacts. I sent you a PM.

Maybe some app is eating up your CPU cycles? You can try logging the acitivity by using something like SystemPanel. I logged my standby battery drain last night with the current rom. With wifi off, 3g on, it's actually OK, around 3-4% drain per our. Didn't measure the previous version so I have nothing to compare it with.

Just reporting... I unplugged my phone at about 4am. It is now 9am and I'm at 60%. Wifi has been on the whole time.

My battery life now sucks too. :( Went to bed at 100%, woke up at 24%. I didn't test with the previous build, but days before with CM7, the exact same test, the battery went from 100% to 90%.

Had only 3G enabled, with everything else off.

This will be a deal breaker for me... if no fix then I think I'll have to go back to CM7.

Tickerguy's CM7 ROM is having similar problems. I lose a good 12-13% every hour with nothing going on. However Issac and TickerGuy seem to not be having the problem which makes it tough for them to fix. We need to provide them as much data as we can. IF YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM SPEAK UP!!

I'm at 66 percent after 8 hours. Only data was still on but the phone was untouched. I don't know if that's good or bad though honestly.

For me I believe that these roms use more resources, Therefore more battery. I take it for granted that I'm always around a charger.

Best way to get the most out of your battery life is putting it in airplane mode when you really don't need it.

As it stands (build 10302011-7), I did not use the second stage of the WIFI fix from TG. The way I understand it, currently, 10302011's kernel is not allowing itself to enter "deep sleep" level. This is regardless of whether the WIFI driver is loaded or not.

Now, like I've already stated (and put in the changelog in the 2nd post), I've gone ahead and merged in the last WIFI fix commit: https://github.com/tickerguy/WX_435_Kernel-Tickerguy/commit/c0d8dab553858ac660393430a1505830fc59f3bb

This will allow the kernel to enter "deep sleep" if the WIFI driver. You guys can make your battery consumption assessments after the next build.

From my 2nd post on the first page:

Code:

miuiandroid_Triumph-1.10.28-11XX2011-X[/B]

[LIST]
[*]Picked up the last of TG's fixes for WIFI. This is a hopeful fix for the new battery drain issue.
[*]Fixed "hidden SSID; can't connect" issue. This was a regression introduced when switching bases.
[*]Removed MIUI boot sound. I got tired of hearing it. ;)
[*]Removed frivolous apks (GSensorCalibration.apk and ECompassCalibration.apk). If you want these apps, I still have them available.
[*]Re-add Google News and Weather app/widget (GenieWidget.apk).
[*]Fixed some potential force closes.
[*]Add memory management tweaks
[*]Add SDCARD read-ahead tweak. This increases the throughput of the SDCARD.

in cm7 build prop i noticed "debug.sf.hw=1" would it help anything in miui? thought it had to do with gpu rendering of some sort?
