Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

I'll try the sd card suggestion. I haven't messed with anything. I noticed the random reboots within minutes of installing the ROM. The whole night this was such a nuisance I left the phone alone and decided I'd deal with it in the morning. Woke up this morning with the phone frozen. Pulled out and put in battery and went on my merry way running some errands. I did notice the phone rebooted a lot less today than last night. It's been a lot more functional but I still get random reboots. I just had one accessing the stock SMS app. I'll report back about your suggestion regarding the sd card. Thanks for your help btw.

I would suggest flashing back a stock rom. Then try flashing miui. Again.
Be sure to data wipe/factory reset and format system. Before flashing.
Or possible ly just try booting to clockworkmod wipe cache and delvik cache. And see if that works.
bummer its not working as this rom is amazing

No problem. This sounds like a bad flash to me. I hope you have a nandroid to revert to. I'd revert back, reflash a fressh download/upload to the sd card. If its a crapped out sd card the transfer might not be perfect I imagine :)
Edit - yes, as hotalings suggested on the wipes

I just did Melissapugs suggestion with the sd card. I'll see how it performs before doing your suggestion.

What exactly happens when you wipe cache/delvik cache? I'd do that first before wiping everything again...

Looks like some of the Ideos X6 boys over at XDA are running the MT MIUI ROM on their phones. Same thread has a link to an early alpha of ICS. I though this was interesting because if the two phones are that similar, maybe development will continue and maybe be used on our phone. I really like this ROM, but any further development of 2.3 based MIUI for the MT seems unlikely.

I can't even get it to install... I keep getting a status 7 error in CWM, something about the build.prop... Weird...
I'm far from knowledgeable on most of this, but just throwing this out there: are you using the right version of CWM as Isaac describes in the first page? Did you do a full wipe coming from another ROM?

I'm using the newest CWM although it is a modded version, but it shouldn't have any effect on whether or not it should install properly or not... And yes I have done a full wipe... It's weird, I have flashed it before, but now it won't :/... I'll see if I can get it to install in a bit...

Are you using the newest CWM...or the latest one Isaac designed for our device?

I'm using CWM 5.0.2.7 I think the newest one from Isaac is 5.0.2.6, but I've never had any problems before this... I don't think it has to do with my recovery although I could change to Isaac's and see if that does anything differently...

I assume he meant one of the 5.0.2.7 variants built from Isaacs source.

I'm using the touch based recovery from the Ideos X6... I don't know if that is built off of Isaac's source or not... But I don't think that would have an effect would it? I can flash anything else fine...

Is that built specifically for the Triumph? Does it support ext4?

Well its built specifically for the Ideos x6, I think it supports ext4 and its only Miui that I have a problem with...

Edit: here's the error

what exactly does the status 7 error say? i may be able to fix it for you

This is what it says in CWM
Installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "triumph" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "triumph"
E: Error in /sdcard/miuiandroid_Triumph-1.11.25-113011-2.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.

ok here... open up your zip and put this file in "\META-INF\com\google\android" then close it up and try to reflash. if your using winrar to put this file in, make sure you set your compression level to "store" or it will not work. :D any trouble let me know!

Thanks, but I really don't need it I got it to install with Isaac's recovery... It just doesn't install with the touch based CWM so its fine... Anyways what does that do?

i removed the line from the install script that was causing you problems, so that it would install correctly for you. :D and im glad you got it to work

Am I missing something or is there no option for sms splitting? I notice that if I send a txt that goes over the character limit it will not send it at all so I am stuck sending two separate texts manually. There is no option on MIUI's stock messenger to enable splitting. Am I the only one?

edit: Sorry if this has been addressed before but it's way too late to sort through 38 pages. :P

Actually it's 48 pages :p.

I personally don't use Miui, but I did flash it earlier just to do some testing, but didn't chck the messaging app... Anyways you may have to get a 3rd party messaging app off of the market that has sms splitting... I think most ones do like chomp, go sms, etc.

Oh wow yeah definitely too many pages haha.

I was really liking the stock MIUI messenger but it looks like its going to have to come down to that. I'll probably go with gosms since it's my favorite.
