lol - I started it. I'm trying to theme it for a new theme. I could probably just mod the images from the decompile, but really, I don't like flying blind

I have never done such a thing, would be glad to try if ya give me a quick 1-2-3
Well first you have to get a file explored that will work at root level (root explorer or any other)
Then you use the explorer to navigate to where the FM.apk is.
Long press on the apk and a menu will pop up. Select copy.
Now go to the directory "/system/app" and paste it there.
Once pasted in /system/app, long press on the newly pasted app and select "permissions"
Set the permissions to... (using root explorer as my reference)
Read: all three checked
Write: top box checked
Execute: none checked
Root explorer is a paid app, but it is well worth the low cost... and I'm sure you can find it out on the internet too if you really wanted to.

I had this and used it to copy paste apks to the sd card for modding, but was confused about the rest - thanks for this
I copied it to system/app, changed permissions, but the darn thing still won't install...or is it already installed by pasting it there

Its already now installed once it is placed there

Well, endless FC loops even with headphones plugged in...I'll look for another apk to try. Anyway, it was cool to learn how to 'push' lol

Good to know it just ain't working. I tried another apk from a same numbered ROM (1.11.25) by a talented dev, and no dice still. Oh, well, I guess that isn't getting themed lol. Sort of a pity, since it looked like kind of a neat app. I will look into older build versions to see if I can get 'er going

Try a different FM.apk from an older version of miui. Remember that that one was from 2.1.13 not 1.11.25.

Been messin with themes? Lots of boot screens will do that to our build. I leave it at default myself.
Nope. Themes are at default levels. Only changes made were sound settings (ringtone and notification). I hope to figure it out cuz I love this ROM.

New sd card? Messed with the system apps? Try popping the sd out, reinsert. Can't image an app conflict
I'll try the sd card suggestion. I haven't messed with anything. I noticed the random reboots within minutes of installing the ROM. The whole night this was such a nuisance I left the phone alone and decided I'd deal with it in the morning. Woke up this morning with the phone frozen. Pulled out and put in battery and went on my merry way running some errands. I did notice the phone rebooted a lot less today than last night. It's been a lot more functional but I still get random reboots. I just had one accessing the stock SMS app. I'll report back about your suggestion regarding the sd card. Thanks for your help btw.
