Of course. This isn't my first dance with VM replacements. I sent in 7 Intercepts in 2 months time.
Holy crap.

Nice rom! Very slick and smooth. Unfortunately, it doesn't fix my GPS woes. I don't remember it ever working. So a call to VM is in store for a replacement phone.
Thanks for trying the ROM, the fix for GPS is the aGPS. The aGPS is what makes the GPS on this and the U9000 ROM so good, you have to enable it in Settings>Location & security settings. Just check the "Use assisted GPS" box. As for the default app, the only way that I know of to set an app as default is to check the box when you click something and it asks what you want to use to open it.Here's something I noticed, I can't set any defaults. Can't set Handcent as default messanger or Opera (or anything other than stock) as default. I've tried in Settings>Manage Apps>App in question and the box is greyed (stock and otherwise).
-----------------------------
Don't mind this. I fixed it. Just changed the icons on the bottom dock to Handcent and Opera.
Thanks for the feedback. I am not sure about the DSP manager, but I know there are apps on the market to do similar, some of the players have built in EQs and other options. Somebody more familiar with that will have to chime in. The 1x is the phone and the 3G is the 3G, this ROM is GSM and has like 5 or 6 networks built in so that is why the signal is shown the way it is. The battery life I think is due to the system figuring out the battery, it seems to get better with time. I think there is built in battery conditioning or something that recalibrates the battery after some use. I have had my phone run for 2 whole days, morning to the next night, I also have 5 batteries floating around and just swap them if I'm in a hurry, so even across batteries it seems to go forever. There is a Hybrid kernel from Mobstergunz that you can use, but there is not much documentation on it. I am in the process of learning how to build kernels but that may take a minute. Also, I never turn wifi off, you don't need to with this ROM, every time I talk about the battery life it is with wifi on with stock settings. Hope this answers your questions.I flashed to this ROM this morning from MIUI 2.4.20 because of a few issues, one that was particularly annoying. The minor issues were a longer than usual delay for the slider to answer when I would get an incoming call, and the proximity sensor was not functioning right. The major issue was my 3G was terrible. Constantly dropping. Plus, while at a friends cabin this weekend, we could have watched the first season of the Walking Dead if my HDMI was working.
My first observation is this ROM is VERY responsive. My 3G speeds have increased big time as well as my WiFi speeds (see attached). Generally everything works better.
My questions are:
1. Is there any DSP Manager that will work with this ROM?
2. The signal strength indicator is 3G/1X. Is the 1X the signal strength for the phone or the data for 2G/1X? I apologize for my lack of knowledge in this area.
3. It seems like my battery drains quicker than with the other ROM's. Could this be remedied by trying a different kernel? Is a different kernel available? I always toggle WiFi off after I use it and rarely if ever use BT so I doubt that is the problem.
Thanks in advanced

Better flash the stock rom and recovery before you send it in.
On another note, when I go to the Play Store it detects my phone as an SH8188U. At first I figured that it wasn't a big deal, but now I cannot get some apps that I had installed before because it says that they are not compatible with my phone . This may have been discussed already, and I apologize for bringing it up if it has, but some of these threads are quite large and it's hard to review each and every post :deal: .
Thanks for the link, I traced down the changes in framework to a single file in the com/android/internal/telephony, but I am only 95% sure. Looking through the framework.jars they seem to be different versions, like the rom was updated that I yanked the framework from to compare. Also it is gingerbread and a different phone, so that file is different in our framework.
The mms fix zip only contained 3 files

This is the only thing stopping this rom from being a completely functional Stock rom replacement. I have like no experience in java except what I've learned in the past 2 months, I am having so much trouble modifying methods, that it is driving me crazy. It is like Spanish to me, I can find my way around and it's becoming familiar, but I still can't follow what's happening on Univision. Hablo Ingl

I would have to say that the wipe didn't wipe everything if, when you rebooted, it still had settings in place. I would suggest doing a factory reset and wiping dalvik cache then reinstalling again to be sure that no data was carried over.Came across some oddness- at least to me. I've been on version 6 for some time, overall pretty good. I've had some minor issues lately so I decided to go to v.7. Did a backup plus backed up just the apps with Titanium, and just data with Titanium, wiped user file and dalvic cache and installed version 7.
When the phone rebooted, my wallpaper was still there as well as my home wifi settings. In the past when if flashed a new version everything was gone, what is different? All the apps were gone and at least this time google backup installed the bulk of them unattended. Had to use Titainium for a few.
/* allow larger frames */
/* FXPCAYM-218: Start - Change frame size from 2000 to 1472 */
/* #define RMNET_DATA_LEN 2000 */
#define RMNET_DATA_LEN 1472
/* FXPCAYM-218: End */
/* allow larger frames */
#define RMNET_DATA_LEN 2000
I believe your right about that. It already seems to be getting better for me as well.
I forgot to turn off WiFi while it was charging last night and this morning the phone took a few minutes to wake up. The screen was un-responsive during that time. I thought I was going to have to pull the battery to restart. But it did finally wake up fully.
***Edit. Not sure if WiFi even had anything to do with the phone locking up for a few minutes, I was just speculating.

Thanks for the feedback. I had a bunch of MODs in the second post but alot of stuff changed in Ver7, and all the MODs had the files that changed so they have to be redone. I will be adding back some build.props and other MODs in the near future, I am just stuck on this kernel stuff right now. Your compatibility issues are probably due to a lot of apps requiring GB or higher, that is why JollyRoger87 came up with the Thunder.prop, to increase the number of apps that are compatible in the playstore but all of them may not be compatible with our phone. Hope this helps.At one time, BSydz had some mod files that allowed changes to the build.prop for the ROM. One was a stock Triumph build.prop, and another being the Thunder.prop. I believe they were in post #2, but when I looked, they were no longer available. Perhaps BSydz is updating these files for the new release or something. I used the stock mod from v6 on my v7 install and the Play Store seems to see my Triumph as normal. Hopefully BSydz can fill us in on the status of these mods.
Thanks, I understand where you are coming from, I can only talk about my own experiences, that is why feedback is very important for other situations. Also, thank you for the details it helps alot. I noticed this weekend that with navigation running for my 2 hour trip, it killed about half of my battery, but that, to me, is a normal circumstance of using GPS and 3G for 2 full hours on a smartphone. Plus, this is Froyo and GB is supposed to have better battery management, so there are always gonna be areas that this should not be able to match the battery performance of a GB or ICS ROM. Hopefully soon we will have a fully functioning GB ROM for our phone, and possibly ICS.But if you have WiFi set to never sleep, which I do at home, because the cell coverage is so weak, then you have to turn off WiFi when you leave your WiFi connection area. For example, this morning, I forgot to turn off WiFi before leaving my house, and the battery had drained to 92% in just 45 minutes, and I barely used the phone during that 45 minutes, maybe 1 or 2 minutes of reading e-mail.
And this ROM seems to drain the battery faster (than CM7 reloaded) when I'm actively using the phone (for web browsing and reading e-mail: I very rarely make calls). I even tried my other battery, with the same results.
Under certain conditions, this ROM gets great battery life, but under others it drains more quickly than some ROMs, from what I've experienced.
Thank you for the feedback. I live in a 3G desert,in the middle of the city minutes away from downtown, so I can't really comment on 3G speeds but it all seems to be a mixed bag when it comes to data speeds. Some people seem to think PRL makes a difference, some think different ROMs work better in different areas, and some think it is just the network. We all know the network sucks but it is better in certain areas and it does fluctuate almost no matter where you are. The only way to know for sure is to test another ROM to see if it is the problem. There have been comments both ways, so it is hard to tell. Hope this helps.Has anyone experienced slower 3G speed on this rom? At first, I thought VM was just having bad network days...but after a while, I feel my 3G speed is slightly worse than stock.
Of course, the GPS works awesome!
I noticed the same thing, yesterday and today on my Ubuntu setup, it is fine using tapatalk on the phone, I figured it was a flash or firefox thing with Ubuntu, if I edit the post it shows in the edit window but not just viewing the thread. I think it's a forum thing cause when you hide anything it shows %1$s. I just unhid all the info in the second post. And, yes the hybrid kernel includes OC abilities but some apps don't keep settings, so No-frills CPU Control is recommended. I finally got a kernel to build so here in a while I should have a few kernels built and be able to test them out.Great ROM, thanks!
I wanted to disable the boot animation sound so I tried to download the mod from the second post, but instead of a link it shows as %1$s.
Is there somewhere else I can download the boot animation sound and the Monster Gunz Kernel (does this have OC)?

Thanks, on Ver7, I just logged in to google just fine in the browser, went to Gmail and also went to accounts.google.com just fine. Which version are you using? What was your install process? Did you change any browser settings? And did you install Flash? As for Facebook, I don't use the app, so I can not comment on that but I have seen a few people with issues with the new app.Hi, first off I want to say this is a great ROM and has been running very smooth for me. However, my phone's browser does not connect to 'accounts.google.com' so I cannot sign into Google through the browser. This happens on Wi-fi and when I'm on 3G (data). So, I can't check my gmails or google docs documents through the web browser. I also had to delete the updates for the Facebook app in order for it to connect. Not big problems, but I just wanted to point them out. Don't know if they were mention before, if they were I do apologize. Thanks
Run this ROM and you will pull the battery so rarely you'ill forget how to do it!I thought I was going to have to pull the battery to restart.
