Root [ROM][PORT] Sharp ROM 2.2.2 for the Triumph (Updated: 12/16/12)

So between this and the u9000 so far it sounds like this is more stable but doesn't support Wi-Fi tethering and looks a bit different.

Is it possible to install the stock camera on this via the apk?
Tempted to try this out the other one soon. But it's like an unstable install of Windows, you deal with it because of laziness and it's like eh a few random record is okay right... haha

Yes. Install the system app remover from the market, put the stock camera apk in the system app backup folder, and go into the app and "restore" the stock camera, and set as system app. If the folder isn't there at first, backup any app and the folder should appear.

About the tethering, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If at times you need it and it won't work, clear the app data for the wifi test key in your "manage applications" section.

Just an update and some observations. I'm still on ver.6, and was on the road for a bit last Thurs. If I'm going any distance I open Pandora and connect via blue tooth to my Jabra speaker, which connects to my FM radio -- sounds and works great. Anyway I set up navigation, open Pandora linked and hit the road. The internet feed continually cut in and out the entire time I was using it. I'd look at the screen and it would display "Buffering xx%" every few seconds. Finally gave up but navigation worked well.

I rebooted before I headed home and for the most part it was uneventful. I've never had an issue streaming Pandora on the road, I always use the high quality feed too.

BTW I did find a great Ausie female voice for my phone sounds totally natural with GPS/NAV. The app is from IVONA and I choose Nichole, lots of great voices.

Last question, should I flash 7 over 6 or do a clean install? It's really a pain to reload all my apps, and have never had much luck with doing a restore from a titanium back up.

Thats VM service for ya. Not the greatest for streaming. I've found it to be hit or miss. It will work fine one day and then the next not so much.

No, it's not the VM service. I've been streaming Pandora on my phone in my car for well over a year with zero issues. There was something quirky going on, either in the ROM, or an app that was causing the issue, as I said a reboot seemed to solve it.

The point was making was that I had network, Blue Tooth and GPS all running at the same time.

Well most likely its the assisted gps "agps" in location settings, states that it can download alot of data to assist gps, it can also be that you reached your data throttle cap, cause at 256k anything will need to buffer, ill test today for you

Either that or it's kicking you down to 1X data when using aGPS- that could certainly make an audio stream hiccup.

Can someone please guide me through how to add a new CWM? I have one already installed. It's v5.0.2.6 and I would like to add MT_CWM_5504_20120527 I have cyanogen mod 7 as my current rom (maybe spelled it wrong?). I need the MT_CWM_5504_20120527 so I can install this rom.

If I'm not mistaken, you should just be able to flash the new recovery in cwm... Can anyone confirm that for me? I know it's how I switched between twrp and cwm.

Just install the zip through cwm. Like you're flashing a rom. I would wait for another answer though, just because I am not sure if that process still applies...

You're welcome. Sorry I couldn't give you a definite yes, but I no longer own a triumph to test it out. And I would hate to be the reason you bricked the phone, lol..

It is with deep regret and great remorse that I must announce that my good friend and Android phone known as Motorola Triumph Passed away late Saturday night.

Witnesses at the scene said they "knew in their gut" it "wasn't looking good" for Triumph when they first heard that "sickening crack" and turned to see her cover flying off and her battery spinning away out of control as Triumph careened from one hard wooden stair tread to another. I rushed to her side as she lay there in pieces on the cold cement floor, I lifted her in my hands and carefully replaced her battery and cover.

She booted right away and seemed okay at first but it soon became apparent that she was failing to respond to touches to her upper right quadrant touch screen. Upon closer inspection and through tear filled eyes I could see the fatal crack that rendered Triumph numb to even my tender caresses. I tried valiantly to resuscitate her but alas, she had already succumbed to injuries sustained in that fatal fall from the top of the basement stairs. RIP Motorola Triumph.

My brief 4 month on again off again fling with "Triumph" as I came to call her is over. No warranty, no insurance and I had already replaced her screen once, so it's over... just when it started to get good. A moment of silence would be appreciated. Send your thoughts and donations of $50.00 or more to the "tmpullen Could Use Some Cash Fund" care of "Pay to the Order of Cash".

Motorola Triumph will be survived by its close relative HTC EVO V 3D.

yes, you can flash CWM thru recovery with no problem.
Just don't flash 5.5, others having problems with nandroid recovery.
There is a link to the CWM Recovery in the OP, there are instructions on how to install there. There are some versions that are flashable and some that you have to put in the image folder on the mobile partition. There have been people that have had problems with CWM 5.5.0.4 with mostly Froyo ROMs. It is mostly restore related, it makes the backups fine but sometimes has issues restoring them. I would suggest any of the flavors of CWM 5.0.2.7, as I have rarely had any issues at all with it. I personally like agentc13s theme myself, very easy on the eyes. You can also try TWRP, it is a touch based recovery. Just beware that the backups are not cross compatible between the two as far as I know. Hope this helps.

You're pullen my heart strings...:( I'll donate what I can to your cause. I purchased some software, Revskills, but only the pro version will do what I need it to do, though it does have some cool features. Man, I have a feeling you are gonna miss some cool advances in the Triumph community. I would check the Motorola warranty website just to be sure, haven't done it myself, but you never know. By the way, when did you change your name to Cash? :D

Is anyone experiencing Wi-Fi drop ?
You can't notice it with Pandora streaming, because Pandora buffers enough, but you can clearly see it when you Skyping for more than 5 mins or streaming Sirius XM or Tune In. Looks like Wi-Fi drops for a few seconds, then comes back.
Yes, I have Wi-Fi sleeping policy set to "never". No problems with Stock or CM7

I think we can say this ROM fixes gps. I can also get a lock in about 10 seconds inside my work building walls...and they're thick concrete. Nice ROM man!
