Root [ROM][PORT] Sharp ROM 2.2.2 for the Triumph (Updated: 12/16/12)

I knew what you meany, and took no offense. I like when people write stuff like this as simple as possible, and assume minimal knowledge of the people they are writing to. I write a general computer and technology question and answer thread in another blog myself, and I try to write that way too.

I'll try the new kernel at some point. I'm pretty busy for the next few days. I may, in fact, wait for #4 or 5 of the kernel. This isn't a feature I use a lot, but it is nice to have and not have to modify the settings in everything I might tether. I did my wife's iPad, but I'm not quite ready to do my Galaxy Tab yet.

Hold the phone!! I just read the fine print about installing from the zip file. Does that mean to load the whole "BSydz-U9000-81-Froyo-Triumph-Ver2" onto the SD card??

Yes, just put the zip on the sdcard and follow the instructions, since this is your first time I suggest reading this. Plus, if you are installing the U9000 ROM then this should be posted in that thread. Hope this helps, if you need anymore assistance just ask.

Quick look: the long lock up in navigation seem to be gone. Phone works, phone numbers are there. Browser works. GPS worked. not sure how fast yet, but faster than stock for sure!!

Is therr a way to use the default ics keyboard? Im using hackers keyboard but that takes up 10mb of ram! I want to use a kboard that is low memory and doesnt need a ridiculus amount of permissions like ANY of the GO products... and for the lockscreen id like a way to jump straigt to camera.. golocker and others have this but they all use too many permissions in my opinion to do a simple task... any thoughts? Same request for a better camera app all the ones on the play store require too many permissions i just want an app that takes a pic lol dont care for gps tag or internet... yeah im paranoid. Thoughts? Sorry for the typos using my triumph for this post on a bumpy bus!

Anyone?? There has to be apps that can do this well without demanding unesscessary permissions

These icons 1x and 3x together where are there located ? In our stock chinese rom,These icons are loaded correctly and we got 1x and 2x signal correctly,but after decompiling the fram..ork-res to find these icons ,there didnt exit .
I can just find a basics 3G icon that not correspond of what I need,
I am an Incredible 2 user.This phone has world capabilities,,so my second question ,
What files have you edit in your fram..jar?
To load these two icons ,should I had a patch in a string or sth else ?

I'm kind of confused about your question. What are you trying to do? If I know what you are trying to do, I may be able to help you. Also need to know if you are using froyo Gb or ICS, cause everything is in different places.

Our phone have GSM/CDMA capabilty,with stock rom it's easy to enable this functionnality,just some tweaks in the prop (cause the right ril and framework patch are already in the rom ).But for some reason for must the custom rom,GSM doesn't work and the Sim Card(stk) fail to load ,just get CDMA work as well 3G data & Call,But for non verizon like us MMS doesn't .
So I will like to enable the GSM capabilities,in the same way allow the sim card read and write state.
Still need some edit in the framework. there are two many smali inside.So I with like to know with one edit in comparaison to the stock to make it work .
If there I'm not enough clear is some point just let me know.

Does this rom take quite a bit of room on the 2GB Micro SD card? I tried to download just a couple of album from Google Play Music...it says insufficient memory as the SD only has 100mb left. I don't have any photo, video or other mp3s to speak of.

When I was on stock rom, I could download tens of album and still have room for photos.

Check your nandroid backups, I have 2.5 GB of nandroids. They can be up to 600 MB depending on what you have installed. Other than that I would suggest searching the card for files over 25 MB to see what is taking up the space. Plus, each ROM is anywhere from 80-170MB, things add up, I have 1GB free on my 16GB with only one song for my ringtone. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks, I just downloaded it with firefox and had no issues, I don't use chrome so I can't help you there.

The backups are in the clockworkmod folder. I would open the sd card and check the size of each folder one at a time, to see what is taking up the space. I can't work with a 2GB card cause it fills up too quick, maybe it is time for a bigger card, microcenter has 16GB for less than $20 and that is a class 10.

Thanks. Using this app, it shows a trash size of 1.8gb, with it containing the name of video/photos/mp3s files downloaded and deleted previously. So the actual files are not there, but some kind of system file fools the phone into thinking those files are still taking space.

I delete these files via my laptop...not sure if that makes a difference.

Sorry, it was 4AM I was tired and just finished building CM10 (it doesn't boot yet). Which version are you using? Did you try a reboot? There should be no issues getting to the settings. Depending on if you have added any tweaks you may just be able to wipe the caches and reflash the ROM. The only issue is that the MTU does not set correctly, check this out.

Sounds like your PC is creating a recycle bin or trash folder. You need to copy everything off of the card and then put it in the phone and format the card, then put it back in the pc and copy over the files you want on there and that should take care of it. If you ever delete stuff on the PC then make sure there is nothing in the recycle bin or trash.
