I tested it and it downloads fine, try again, it's worth it.

Wow, this is the best rom I've used yet on my triumph. It makes GPS usable (most of the time locks in under 10 seconds indoors), and everything else is great as well.

Is there any way to change the battery icon to a number instead of the battery? And is there any way to change text size to super small?

If somebody wants to start a thread, or post I can link to in the op or second post, for system themes for this ROM have at it, just make sure they are Ver6 compatible, there were a few early ones that will probably cause issues. Also anybody wanting to do a system theme make sure you test it before you post it, just to be sure. Like make sure it will reboot and factory reset with out causing issues. I wanted to go through and organize them but haven't had time. And I'll probably be too busy trying to get GB going. Thanks everybody.

It looks from your second post that you have decided to stop trying to bring the ver6 ROM and the 2 fixes together into the one flash-able ROM. If so, cool.

If I understand things properly then you are considering:
The - "BSydz Sharp Triumph Froyo Deodexed Ver6: (6/27/12)"
Plus - "BSydz Sharp 2.2 Ver6 Network Location Fix:" and "Voicemail Fix Instructions:" all together as the final version of the Sharp 2.2 ROM and you are moving on to develop the Sharp 2.3 ROM. If so... Hooray!

In your first post you have placed this note above the installation instructions.
"Note: Voicemail dials *86 by default, I am looking into it. For now, you can follow these instructions, you can dial your own number and it will go to voicemail, or you can do a "Dirty Install", until it gets resolved."

It seems to me that you can remove this note altogether because step 6 in the instructions covers the scenario in the note.

In the first post step 6 of the instructions you say "You could add it to the network location fix for your own personal use." Could I get some instructions for that?

It is not the final version but as easy as the fixes are, I am satisfied with how it is now, it should be fairly n00bproof. The voicemail issue is gonna take forever to figure out, way harder than the MMS issue and that was ridiculous. I think the network location issue would be fairly easy but, the fix is only 265kb and it only takes a second. I figure I will let this marinade and see if I can do anything to get GB running.

I was going to move the note but something told me to leave it, maybe I'll move it to the note section. I figure I'll give it a minute, till I get an idea how to reorganize/redesign the OP.

It wasn't supposed to be "The Masked Man", I was messing with some pics one day and thought it looked like an alien or abstract animal when it was small. I just threw it up for fun. I have my "Clark Kent" digs on in my profile.

To add that file to the zip, just add the folders inside data until you have the matching location and put it there. So in data create data then com.android.phone then shared_prefs and put the file there. Or make the folders outside and then add that folder to the data folder in the zip. Just make sure the path is correct, I had a few extra folders and files on a few of my setups. Hope this helps, if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Here's an interesting one. Every time after I come out of airplane mode, the lockscreen says "emergency calls only" where it usually says virgin mobile. It says this until I reboot. I don't have time right now to re-download and do a fresh install, so it's possible that this is a bug caused by my actions, but it seems like it wouldn't be. I'm running a dirty installed modded v6 (swapped in a bunch of stock apks) with network location fix and GB theme.

That is just one of the quirks, it functions fine, just says that until you reboot. I'm sure a framework edit would do the trick but it was such a small detail, that when I saw it, I just said "maybe later". It has to do with the 10 or so networks built in to this ROM. If only we had wimax hardware we would be good to go.

Check the date on the backup, make sure it is not 1-1-??, and try with CWMR 5027 if the date is correct. We need to know what kind of issue you have to be able to really help, like md5, bootloops, stuck at logo...

it restores fine, but won't boot past the logo...using 5.5.0.4 recovery found over at xda

This should give you an idea of what is going on. I figured you were on 5504 when I replied.

One more thing, there is definitely something odd with how this ROM interacts with our CWM. I made a nandroid and it's got the date in the backup name all messed up. It thought that the date was 1-1 instead of 6-9. Something in the rom isn't getting the date/time correctly. Also, restoring the rom didn't work and I just got stuck at the M logo as others have been reporting. I wonder if it's a kernel problem.

I REALLY hate to say this, but I kinda get gut feelings sometimes, and when I saw CWM 5504, I got one of those feelings. I have never tried it because of that, but I have made numerous backups from all of the Sharp ROMs, except rev 2.1 cause I haven't had time, and restored them through CWM 5027. Plus Ver2 is a slightly modified stock Triumph kernel. I have never had the date/time issue, except when I was flashing nb0's, because they did not connect to the network to update the date and time. But after setting the time and date it was correct in the nandroid backups.

Edit: I just used TWRP 2.1.3 recovery with a buckup I made 5-29 when I tested TWRP with the Sharp ROM and date and times are fine, it restored fine also. I have only had one issue with CWM recovery and the Sharp ROM and that was a md5 verification, but CWM has done that to me a couple times in the past with other ROMs.

Thanks. So, just to clarify. Did the restore work with a different recovery? Which recovery was the backup made with and which to restore? Any other details may help others.

I had problems recovering from Stock using 5.5.0.4, lost everything. So, I don't think it's rom related.

i just reverted back to 5.0.2.7....i'll keep you posted when i do a restore

edit: and one more thing, what is the proper method to restore this rom? do i format system or anything?

It looks like I have isolated the culprit. GpsLocationProvider is starting up automatically when the phone boots and hangs on to partial wakelocks.

If I start up the Google Maps program and then exit out, the GpsLocationProvider services gives up on the partial wakelocks and the phone is able to go into deep sleep.

Definitely a bug...
Hopefully you'll be able to track it down... its my 5 hours of contribution! Peanuts compared to your efforts I'm sure!!

I started over fresh with a wipe, then v6, then the network location patch, and Network Location is working.

Both cell network and WiFi network location are working. I've only tried them in Google Maps so far, since I want to see how the ROM/phone does with only a minimal amount of additional apps installed. So far I've only installed OS Monitor, CPU Spy, and ES File Explorer.

With the above minimal install, and with WiFi on, but WiFi sleep policy set to turn off WiFi when the screen goes off (the default), after 8.5 hours with mild use (a 2-minute phone call, 1 text message, about 15 minutes of e-mail and web use), the battery is still at 80%, which seems a lot better than usual (though I usually use the phone more heavily). The phone is going into Deep Sleep okay.

I plan to install only a few apps at a time this time, and monitor the battery use for a while afterwards, instead of installing dozens of apps right away like I usually do, to see which apps cause the battery use to go way up. Once I (hopefully) identify the battery hogs, I'll try to find alternative apps for them. I hope they're not my favorite apps.

I did an install of this ROM a few days ago, and most things worked OK but GPS was a mess. Seemed to get weird data speeds too, but I never did an actual check. Went back to an early CM7 ROM that I had been using for a month or so, and now I'm ready to give this rom a try again.

So-- can I simply download the latest version and be good to go???

In es explorer press menu go to settings, all the way down enable "Root Explorer" and "Mount File System". Then go back and press favorites and select the phone. You should be good from there.

No more dirty install needed, there are 2 fixes that have to be applied though, which replace the dirty install. The fixes and instructions are in the OP right below Ver6. The fixes are easy to apply, and do not change any system stuff. The network location fix is only 3 files and you just have to add one line to a file to fix the voicemail issue. Hope this helps.

EDIT: The network location not being there was causing issues with some apps when it was enabled, also make sure you turn on agps.
