Root [ROM] Quattrimus JB (CM10, AOKP41)

Check under networks that you have RUIM/sim selected and you have LTE/cdma/evdo as the network. That was my issue.... AOKP set my sim to NV and narsed everything up.

On a related note, anyone know why I have roaming turned off, but see this signal icon?

I'm guessing it means I'm in 1x, since I can access this forum, but I wanted to bring it to everyone's attention.

Lol the irony. You're telling a guy how to fix roaming while you're roaming.lol. that r means you're roaming mrB.

What does "Roaming indicator on" mean? I don't have the "R" on my data signal indicator, but the lock screen and status pulldown menu both say that.

Anyone else have an issue with wifi not connecting?

Its hangs on Obtaining IP Address for a while, then Authenticating, then back to Obtaining IP Address. Tried 2 different routers, both with WPA encryption. After about 5 minutes it says Avoided Poor Internet Connection. FIXED: Changed the router channel from 3 to 10. Connects fine now. For some reason it doesn't like channel 3.

Also, where is the option for choosing what the device does when connected to a computer? Mine is not doing anything when plugged in, but I don't see the connectivity option under settings.

No issues with call quality here.

Hey, I posted about this a couple of times before, but I forget which threads. Change your router to "TKIP" from "AES" encryption and you will connect. It has to do with cheap network chips, as not everyone has this problem.

It cost me over $350 to figure it out. It was working at first, for several months, then I started having issues when I started using 5Ghz WiFi N for my chromebook. My android devices on 2.4Ghz started having this problem.

@TDM
Got everything working with b1. Even the KB (although caps lock won't lock on, pressing it twice). Must have been a bad flash, as in the end a clean install of b1 was what worked (probably the eighth time I flashed it clean, but after all the problems that I had with GB installs, I am not surprised).

Also, I can confirm that video recording does not work with the included camera app. When I tried another one, procapture, it launched the same camcorder app as the stock camera did, still not working.

Are you on beta1? That should say Verizon Wireless on beta2.

Beta1 said TCDMA-64, beta1a and beta2 both say roaming indicator on.

On another note, incall volume using a wired headset is the same on beta2 as it was on beta1 - what I hear is loud and they can hear me just fine.

Hmmm, so here's something interesting. I have the R, however, it says I'm not actually roaming. Although my network shows as Roaming Indicator on. Just like B and the other. Now the more interesting part is my speedtest, those speeds would be 3G speeds wouldnt they? Also eHRPD is the connected network, which is evident of Verizon's 3G with speed enhancement, which is the area I live in. Don't remember 1x or Edge ever coming close to those speeds anyhow. So anyone got any ideas??

Ditto, I'm on beta2 and it's always said 'Roaming Indicator On'.

... and fwiw, on the testing menu, I also show 'Not roaming'.

It also shows 'Current Network: Roaming Indicator On', so that could be the issue.

My guess, given where I am and the terrible reception, is the R pops up when you're in 1x and maybe even in CDMA, but not LTE; I have the '4g' icon when I'm in an LTE area. Doesn't sound like a tough fix, though.

On a sidenote, I can always make an app that throws a "3G" up in the status bar when im in eHRPD. I must say though, very quick and snappy for CM10, and if the bluetooth woes truly are fixed... I will hug you and all involved through my monitor. Also, I will be forced to donate since I said I would once we had a fully working ICS ROM. This is a step up, and is JB, so even more exciting. Will test bluetooth in my car today!

Bluetooth audio is 100%, and for some reason connects and disconnects are faster than stock ICS connects. Call audio and streaming audio for music, both spot on. GPS is 100% as well, works great, lock on is super quick and tracking is very good as well. So it looks like there are just 3 issues, neither are preventative as a daily driver.

1. 1x and 3G data shows up as roaming on the bars and roaming indicator on is the network. 4G appears to show as 4G. Everything works as intended, but the labeling is not right.

2. Graphics/Display is terrible for 3D renderings and just graphics items in general. There a better driver to use for it possibly or is something else the problem. Our antutu scores fail miserably here and you can witness the bad FPS through HD video playing or some games.

3. Microphone on phone calls are way to sensitive as everyone has stated. I think that's all it is, over-sensitivity. Also, maybe it's just me, but incoming call audio seems a little quiet. Odd given the rediculously boosted microphone.

So there we are, this is almost a 100% fully functional JB ROM. All the devs that have busted to make this phone awesome, are awesome themselves. Of course an extra thanks to TDM here in bringing us JB!

Don't forget:

4. Reboot when pressing power button while camera is up. Has anyone else seen this?

5. Don't think wifi direct is working.

Details... On a serious note though, I just tested hitting power with camera up and no reboot. Everything works there, even tried opening power menu with camera up, still no reboot. Albeit, camera picture taking is a tad slow. Wifi direct, never actually used this feature, but don't have another android phone to test.

Granted as with every ROM, some people have issues where others don't. I will say, I never use titanium, I just bite the bullet and wipe everything. Maybe restores from things are what cause the issues?

Also I've been overclocking to the max allowed on conservative, seems good for battery. Antutu CPU scores are HIGHER than with stock or CM9, at least for me. The graphics are that slaughterhouse of point loss though. Possibly graphics have something to do with the Camera power button reboots? It is a lot to display streaming camera as well as the power animation; maybe GPU cant keep up with driver set?

On B1, I was getting 3g and 4g indicator. On B2, I'm getting the R like everyone else. I'll dig into what's causing this while I look at getting the USB scripts fixed.

Others have also reported this. But it worked on the loaner phone yesterday...

The weird thing is, now it changes. It will go from t-cdma 64 to roaming indicator off to roaming indicator on. I'm sticking with AOKP at the moment because you can change it. Bluetooth works great though. Still getting some slight volume issues, but it seems more stable than beta1a.

What is the usb issue? I thought it was fixed...
Only on linux. Windows still doesn't like to see the phone as a USB drive so you can't mount your SD card through the phone. Linux doesn't care because Linuxs just likes to make things work.

Works fine for me, on Win7 64 bit on desktop and 32bit on laptop.

edit:for details, I'm on AOKP b2.

Ahh... if I enable usb debugging then mass storage stops working. I've also noticed that I can't switch to a different usb mode.

Nevermind, I just had to turn mass storage back on. MTP and PTP still don't work tho, it keeps switching back to mass storage.

Ok, that may be why then. I'm on CM10 and it's not functional. What is it showing up as in your device manager? My just shows VS920. I can point it at the generic ADB drivers and adb will work, but I can not get it to work as a multi-function device like stock or even CM9 did.

Gotcha. When I enable USB debugging, it shows up as an unknown device... LG electronics blah blah. If I set Mass storage in settings > storage > advanced menu > usb connection then it redetects as a mass storage device and shows up as a drive.

So the scripts do need some massaging to get adb to work without manually selecting a driver.

I just factory reset (Re- Initiating Swagger lol). I am going to see if PTP or MTP will work if its the first selected.
