Root [ROM] Quattrimus JB (CM10, AOKP41)

Noticed that there's nothing on this rom in the Nitro HD section. Are you gonna let them in on it?

I have a thread on xda. The nitro section here at AF is so quiet you can hear a pin drop so I don't know if anyone will see it...

Played with the new build and don't like it. It doesn't fix the mounting as a USB device issue and now for some reason, my battery indicator is rotating (circle or circle with text) and it's very distracting.

Edit: Never mind about the rotating bit. Just figured out that is from being on the charger. Still annoying.

Yea, CircleMod was better, for sure.

I dunno, it seems like ICS performs better on my phone than JB does. But, like before, I have a feeling others will say just the opposite. It's so odd that some people have GPS and others don't, while some have various other issues and others don't. I've never seen so many groups of affected people with issues on devices before.

I agree with you about performance mrB. My phone also ran better on cm9 and aokp40 than it does on cm10 and aokp41. Not sure why since one of the huge perks of JB is supposed to be project butter. I'm not seeing it though :/ Which for me is a huge disappointment. But perhaps it's just a matter of things being optimised or maybe it's just our phone doesn't like it. I'm not sure what the deal is but hopefully once all the bugs are worked out things will run more smoothly.

EDIT: I have noticed that Swype definitely runs better on JB, and also the stock browser is much better in the way of fluidity and smoothness. Websites also load faster, so not all is bad with JB.

I've noticed huge improvements in JB. Not so much stuff moving faster. It all seems to run the same in terms of speed. Everything is however much smoother. I would still occasionally get lag and stuttering on ics, even on aokp40, which was the smoothest rom I used until that point. AOKP41 is the smoothest thing I've ever run on this phone. Every animation looks better and every seems just a little smoother. Plus, I love the notification drawer in JB.

Just my take on things.

ok, so everyone running aokp41, how is your battery life? mine sucks, and it's charges slow, I'm even using the fast charge feature and it still charges slow. I was getting the best battery life I've ever had on aokp40.

Been running overclocked. Last about the same as stock v6 did.

Tomorrow I will run a conservative setup and see how everything goes.

I seem to get about 9 hours out of a full charge with fairly heavy use. (playing world of goo, flashing different mods and stuff, getting it set up how I like, web browsing and many, many phone calls.)
On AOKP40 I got around 10.5

charge speeds seem similar on both, not the fastest I've seen but I can go from 10% to a full charge in around 90 minutes. Fastest charging i've had on this phone was Broken Out 3.0. I could do the same in 65 minutes.

Same here. AOKP doesn't use the deep sleep coding that cm has, so it drains a lot faster. I burned through my battery in 3 hours, when stock would normally last 4-5. Cm10 has lasted 5 so far and still has 2x the battery I normally would at this time. So battery is much better in cm10 compared to cm9,but performance is slower on my phone.

Isn't deep sleep a kernel feature, not a ROM feature?

---

Noticing a very high gain on the phone's internal mic. User on the other end hears *everything*, thus is able to understand almost nothing...AOKP41. (did not experience this on AOKP40)

Yes and no. The kernel let's apps take "wake locks" that prevent deep sleep. So if the ROM is taking too many locks or failing to release them, it could prevent deep sleep.

I tried out Multi Mount and it tells me that the SD Card is un-mounted.
But with GPS smooth and data working fine and WiFi tether working with my unlimited, it's worth the pain of pulling the card to load it.

I bought the $17.00 extended battery (3800mAh) and the cover that it comes with looses a chunk of plastic each time I put it back on.

I coated it with Liquid Tape so I could hold on to it.

Any way great ROM...:D

Use adb until the USB mount issue is fixed. Your cover will thank you. :)

And cm all but shuts down the device when it's not in use for a certain time. If you don't have widgets auto-updating, you can put it into a deep sleep and seriously increase battery life. Cm10 on tablets can keep a battery charge for a week in standby...its wicked. You'll find 'cell standby' used a lot less in cm than AOKP.

Anyone who needs to hook the phone to the pc for file moving purposes just use airdroid. It works perfect and its a very nice app. It also allows you to receive text messages on your computer

I wanted to verify that video playback is terrible. I even have hardware acceleration enabled through pimp my Rom and its just bad. I have several hd videos I recorded a while back and just tried to watch them and they were going at like 2 frames a second.

Is that the b1 or the b1a?
