Root [ROM] Quattrimus JB (CM10, AOKP41)

Got wifi tether working using wifi-tether in the play store and setting the Device-Profile to "Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)"

Posting this thru tether.

The "udp connect: udp not implemented" message seems to be absent in the good gps logcat. Near as I can tell this comes from a failed connect on /dev/socket/qmux_radio/qmux_connect_socket. On the loaner phone, the connect attempt gets ENOENT then EACCES. I don't see how any lingering dirty data could affect a socket in /dev. The only other thing I can come up with is a race condition. Very confusing and frustrating...
Thats weird. Dirty data shouldn't affect a socket in /dev since dev is typically populated by the kernel, and a reboot repopulates it... What the ****. Seriously scratching my head on this one....

Does cm10 have hardware acceleration, because when I try to play a mkv video file the video starts lagging. It was playing smooth with cm9

I've just installed this rom, trying both CM and AOKP and both seem to be having an issue with the mic. My girlfriend refuses to talk to me she says it's so bad, and it seems to be a speakerphone/mic sensitivity issue. When the speakerphone is on, she did mention the quality increased slightly.

Any work arounds or ways to fix this issue?

Here's a trick for the devs...

I've found that oncrpc apps don't like running from the commandline, nor do they like being launched from a shell script wrapper. Don't know why, maybe it's permissions. So I modify their service entry in init.rc to strace them, eg:

service foo /system/xbin/strace -f -o /data/local/tmp/foo.strace /system/bin/foo

This is how I got the gpsone_daemon strace output to find the socket issue.

kewl, much appreciated.

On the mms, we have it building from src w/o any prebuilt additions? Same question on the GPS??

Sorry ran out of time today. :( Had too much going on. But I'll get it soon, promise.

Yes ... no changes to cm10 sources. Just the new kernel, vendor blobs, and updated device repos.

Kinda new to this, what exactly is the eri fix? Also, any chance you can answer my previous question about the call quality? I've tried several times to re-install the rom and I've had no luck at all

Eri controls the carrier text on the lock screen.

I haven't made any calls on the loaner phone so I can't speak to that sorry.

started off in roaming, turned off the radio, then turned it back on. got 4g. lock screen says roaming indicater on. that doesn't mean I'm in roaming, right? I don't think so.

Hardware acceleration of video does not work, H.264 video will not run in MX Player and Netflix all i get is audio and no video. (cm10) have not tried akop

Thoughts for the masses:

Those with GPS issues. Go into settings -> location access -> GPS source and click "Use internal GPS". Report if this fixes your issue.

Those with Data issues. Wipe and go to a clean install of ICS. Make sure you have data and are not roaming. If you are data roaming, install CM9 or 10, then go into settings -> more (under wireless & networks)-> mobile networks->CDMA Subscription -> choose RUIM (sim). If you get data and no roaming, great. If you get nothing, flash back to ICS and check data again. If you go back to ICS and still are roaming, then you really messed something up in your EFS partition and will most likely need to have VZW fix it. If you have clean data, wipe and install CM10.

Those having misc. issues. Do not dirty flash this. Come from a clean install and if you're going to add Gapps, make sure you have the JB Gapps and install them at the same time you do CM10.

I would consider my phone to be very finicky, but I am able to do MMS, GPS, and tethering with the native app (N7 connects and does facebook and netflix fine) with WPA2 on.

I hope we don't also inherit the so-called BSOD issue, where the screen will occasionally refuse to come back on after being in deep sleep.

We're running AOKP 4.1 on my Fascinate (which is now my wife's phone) and it will from time to time blank the screen and won't come back.

Just wanted to let you know Hardware Video Acceleration is not working. When i had my Motorola Droid Pro with cm9 on it Hardware Video Acceleration did not work either but i believe it was fixed by editing a build prop file i just don't remember what they edited to get it working again. I can Confirm the Video is not working in the Netflix app (just audio) and will not playback H.264 in MX video player.

I don't use my phone to watch video except for youtube but I do know that pimp my rom has an option to enable hardware acceleration so maybe you guys might want to try that.

And speaking of pimp my rom that app certainly must do something because earlier i ran antutu and got 6700 and after enabling a bunch of tweaks with pimp my rom I got 7700. This was on aokp41.

Also neph it's a no go for me with the internal gps feature being turned on. I actually had tried that already, but I do know that it worked for brianmaedche. Thanks for the write up though, should help some guys get their phones out of roaming :]
