Root [ROM][SAP] BACKside CM7.2 [PORT]

I'm running Win 7 Pro 64bit and I thought the most puzzling thing was that I was able to connect USB seamlessly to this computer with this phone when it was new from Metro and with Joneidy's Sense Rom.
However, what's even more puzzling is that when I connect the phone to a Mac Mini it connects seamlessly and I never installed LG's drivers there. It does not connect to either Win7 pro (used to) or XP, but does connect to Mac OSX G4 pre-Intel. :confused:
In the notification bar when I plug the phone into Win7 nothing happens, In the notification bar when I plug the phone into the Mac it says both USB connected and android debugging connected. My Win7 machine is the one I use 98% of the time which is why I'd like to resolve this if I can.

Open up device manager on windows and see if anything is not installed correctly, also don't use a USB HUB (splitter)
 
I'm having the same issue, sammyz. I can connect to Linux and OS X 10.7 just fine. Wont even show in Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit.

Device manager shows everything is good on both machines. Nothing happens with the notification tray in the taskbar. Control Panel shows "LG United Mobile Driver v3.6.0.0 is installed.

Phone just doesn't show up at all. If you want I can give you a logcat. (I didn't see anything out of the ordinary in it.)
 
UPDATE!!!

Got it to work :)! OK, I had one other LG file that I had overlooked (I save everything I've ever done with Android)
the file is:

LGUnitedMobileDriver_S497CA20_WHQL_ML_Ver_1.0.msi

and after installing it USB Debugging works and I can transfer files to the phone from my PC!
The two previous LG files that I had installed (see above post) I then uninstalled and everything still works perfectly. It appears I only needed the above file to resolve the problem.
Thank you guys again for all your help and most especially for this ROM!

A quick Google search got me that file and now my phone is being recognized by both my computers.

Hmmm that's strange....... I blame LG for this....

I'll try to figure out which file in the rom is the USB driver for the phone...maybe it's using an Optimus V USB driver because this IS a port...

Never thought of that, actually. But it does make sense, especially when 2 users have the same driver, phone, and problem. (Not to mention the same "fix".)

I never had this problem, but then again I also have that same driver installed xD
 
Any reason I can't get a2sd working properly? I have an ext partition (ext3) of 1gb and cannot get the a2sd commands working after flashing newest a2sd script and giving Terminal Emulator su privileges.

Error: a2sd not found.

Also, a2sd app can't see my ext partition. :(

Hey thks sammy i just try your rom and is great as always but a nice thing to find is that it had a spanish dictionary.

Never really used link2sd. A quick Google says that its harder to setup but does a better job than a2sd.

Thanks sammyz. Unlimited apps forevar! (I left stock Google apps on phone memory tho.)
 
Alright, this is getting ruhtarded.

WHY DOES MY STATUS BAR KEEP DISAPPEARING?

No errors, force close pop-up, and restarting the service does absolutely nothing. Bar shows on first boot, then never returns. Even after a reboot. Its not transparent. Its just non-existant.

Multiple wipes/reflashes and the issue consistently returns.

Wtf? Works fine with ANY other CM7 ROM.

Did this start after setting up l2sd? It might just be a relevant problem...

I noticed it after installing l2sd, yes.

But I couldn't get it to come back, so I reflashed BACKside and stayed stock without l2sd. Phone worked awesome until the battery died on me and I had to reboot. No status bar, again. :(

Thinking it may be a permissions problem, I booted into CWM recovery and fixed permissions. Boy, what a mistake. Now the effin thing wont show me anything past the boot animation.

Let me say that again, but clarify. It IS making it past the bootanim. I can tell because the screen keeps wanting to shut off like its already booted. Also, if I slide my finger from left to right like I'm unlocking the phone, it vibrates like it unlocked the phone. BUT ALL I SEE IS THE F U C K I N G ANNOYING BOOT ANIMATION! (Seriously, sammyz, consider a new bootanim. I completely feel bad for ANYONE that has epilepsy and attempts to use this ROM.)

Don't ever fix permissions from recovery....EVER! Reflash again.... and do this next time:
Open terminal emulator and type:
Su
Fix_permissions
Reboot

Weaksauce. I'm sick of reflashing.

Is the status bar issue likely a permissions problem?
 
Sammy you may want to change the information on the home screen tips about fixing the freezes or FCs. The Su and reboot are not there. I hope this new info fixes my phone.
 
So far so good. Before I could not use map or navigate at all and GPlay sometimes, the phone would freezes up and i would have to take the Battery out. Now they are up and running.

I don't edit apps. I didn't even make the ROM, JerryScript did. All I did was switch out files to get this working on our phone. JerryScript hasn't been active since the last update on this ROM for the Optimus V.
