Root [ROM] Sleipnir v2.4.0.5 - 10/24/13 - VM & SPRINT

Sorry I guess it is just my weather bug app that was doing that...It displays the text black and the rest of the drop down is in cyan like you said my bad....Thanks.

That's something I've never understood - what exactly is the point of Power Toggle anyway. Can't everyone go into settings or use the power control widget already included in the system apps to do that exact same thing? What's the point of an app like that?

But, I've been running the same build all day, and I'm noticing similar if not better battery life than without scripts running, which is good, and that the phone appears to be handling even better than before. So that's a win-win with scripts active, which means they stay.

v2.1.1 will have the camera and desk clock added back in. It's coming shortly (within the hour).

EDIT: v2.1.1 is up and ready to go. Enjoy!
Yeah, they both accomplish the same thing. I just like power toggles more because of the options, and it looks better (I like the transparency and color settings). Similar to your app recommendations in the OP. I have had issues with the stock power widget with toggling WiFi in the past, and haven't looked back since. I also like to control things myself.

Battery life seems great, as usual too :-)

I would like to make some suggestions. The battery icon looks cool as blue, but it changes to green at 75%. Anyway to keep it blue until the low warning. Also I'm more of a fan of the ICS-like semi transparent notification drawer. Feel free to disregard, I normally don't bring up aesthetics, as they are very different person to person .

I've never had issues with the power control widget XD In fact, I use it all of the time to toggle wifi and bluetooth.

Yes. The battery icon was done through UOT, so I could change that so that it does stay blue - but I intentionally made it the way it is simply because of the annoyances I had with the stock battery icon (both not having a percentage, and looking way off of what the actual percentage was, and not having some sort of color indicator to at least help with that). If there's enough push for it, I can certainly alter it though, no problem. Likewise if there is enough push for the semi-transparent dropdown, I'd be more than happy to implement it.

The "Honeycomb" notification background is sleek and elegant. I like it.

Which reminds me, the bottom part of the drop down notifications that you "grab/pull" is actually from Honeycomb. I combined a bunch of different styles for the notifications panel.

What's the trick on setting the camera to silent? I'm only seeing 4 sound choices.

The camera by default should be silent regardless of the sound choices. This is because the sound in the UI has been removed - though the camera may still have audio files within it that it chooses to use instead. Let me know if it is silent or not for you.

All 4 sounds still play during capture.

Then any other camera than the stock one will be silenced (because I know that if the UI sounds are present, Camera360, even when you tell it "no sound," will still play sound regardless if those files are present). Try this modified stock camera by Hashtag (attached to the post). In the stock camera app, because it contains audio files within itself it will try to force sound out regardless (which is annoying). Typically, one way to circumvent this was to remove the UI sounds completely from the /system/sounds directory - which always worked (still does) for me. The other way is what Hashtag did with the app to modify it.

To install the .apk, mount /system/app as R/W using your root permissions file browser of choice, then remove the current CameraApp.apk from there, drop the .apk attached to this post in there and reboot. It will install itself (or should, anyway). If not/the app won't install, try installing it through the file browser itself by tapping on it once it's in place if it doesn't install itself simply via rebooting your phone. If this still isn't the case, then the stock app he modified might no longer work, and I'll see if he can't whip up another modified version based on the one that currently works.

That one didn't work. I just reinstalled the camera from your current ROM. Its not a huge deal, I was just wondering if I was missing an option or or I had a bad flash. 360 was silent, and it has some nice features, but I like the stock lg camera, its simple and fast.

Huge thanks for the work on this ROM, very pleased with it! I found a glitch, must likely a missed setting when building. The Power menu Screenshot option fails because the save path is not set. (Error states null value.)

Thanks again!

That's been known and discussed for a long time. Unfortunately I can't boot the ICSE build to see if the screenshot feature worked at all once it was implemented - but after several modifications over various builds, I'm on the verge of getting that online.

Was running Harmonia 2.03 ever since it became available on this phone.
Was going through some serious flash withdrawal and decided to give this ROM a try.
It's running great and really like the colors used.
Thanks for the ROM.

You're very welcome! Don't forget to set the recommended CPU settings mentioned in the OP for better battery life in addition to having the OE being overclocked to reap maximum benefit.

I ran an ealier version of this rom and it was laggy but this version is perfect. My only complaint is that you left out the stock browser but other than that, this is a pretty sweet rom.

That cpu master free app already had my phone set at the speed in the op. Is that how it supposes to be?

Which is why there are always updates. I'll attach it to this post since it doesn't seem to be in the build.

They should ideally be set to what is shown in the OP. If they are, great!

Yea I kinda liked the stock browser. Mind attaching a link to the apk for it.

Yep. Attached to this post.

Thanks man, the stock browser is my favorite browser. It wouldn't install so I just stuck it in with my other system apps, now it works.

Yep. To install a system app you just have to drop it into /system/app (making sure the directory is remounted to R/W), then reboot, and it'll install itself.

IIRC, The null problem when saving a screenshot is due to the permissions set on the screenshot binary. /system/bin/screenshot should be 04755 rwsr-xr-x, I think.

They should be set in the updater-script as the ROM is installed:
set_perm(0, 0, 04755, "/system/bin/screenshot");

You could also change permissions on this file after install with a root explorer/file manager or terminal emulator, etc.
