Thanks for all the info guys.
I didn't mention the phone being rooted to him, so he seems to know something we don't, or I've yet to hear of.
As for the partition angle he spoke of. I've noticed it with the Google music app. Supposedly.... It won't allow you to add music you can't prove ownership of. But I've noticed songs I've picked up over the years syncing with that app. The other day though I came across the file where the songs get cached to. (Didn't think to write it down at the time)
As for the play movies downloading to rooted devices. It's the first time it's ever been actually used in the house so I've never had the chance to see it play out.
I'll check out that app though and see what's up.
Thanks again guys, he's been texting me all day to see if there had been a response to that question. Kid doesn't have any patience![]()
(SUPPORT) I made a nand b4 I installed the updated Sleipnir when I tried to restore it started to but then said something went wrong error any ideas? I had to restore an older nand![]()
Lowering my max cpu speed didn't seem to help the reboot problem, so I tried raising the min cpu speed (from 245 to 364 I believe) and it hasn't crashed since. I have not played with stuff in between yet. Anyone else had problems with 245? I'm using rom toolbox's speed settings function, if that matters.
Just a quick note to devs/themers...the UOT theme kitchen adds lots of extraneous images to your framework /
systemui apks eg ha.ving 200 battery images in your system ui when the images are called from framework ...that afds a lot of size to an apk. Just putting that out there. I personally rather decompile and change things then compress and recompile. Cleaner that way. Good job on this rom though
I've tried removing them before from SystemUI.apk, but then I got a loop of force closes post-boot, in the past. It may work now though, so I'll give it a shot again.
Uot also gives you a uot config xml file, perhaps that's tied into it?
This phones just crazy..... Some days I get mad at it and think about getting a different phone, but the grandfather plan I have keeps me putting up with it.
I'm moving asap... either Nexus 4, HTC One or iPhone 5... still haven't decided. Of course, that will mean moving to T-Mobile pre-paid.rdoac,
I sometimes have the flicker / reboot, usually only once and it only happens if I power the phone off and then back on.
Not sure why it happens.
Also a lot of times when it does flicker / reboot for me, my SD card shows mounted, but I can not access it. I unmount and then remount it and it will work fine.

Never tried any of the other ROMs to see it the same rebooting happens....waiting for the CM9 to get the camera working before I try that ROM.....
I've been running this for about 4 days (thought I'd try it again). It's been pretty stable until this morning, when, while viewing something in Dolphin it suddenly did its flicker/flicker/softreboot thing. It then rebooted about 6 times. I even pulled the battery for a while to stop it.
I eventually got it to stop by going into recovery and formatting cache. (Not dalvic - the one under /data in the front page options).
Any idea why it suddenly does this? Ecksperia doesn't seem to?
I looked around a little and did not come across the $5 more with auto pay. I thought the Beyond Talk was $35.00..... $30.00 would not be bad and tolerable.Yea, but it's only $5 a month more if you switch and auto pay. And the Samsung Victory is 4G.I'm moving asap... either Nexus 4, HTC One or iPhone 5... still haven't decided. Of course, that will mean moving to T-Mobile pre-paid.

I've looked at the Samsung Victory and might try one, once the price comes down. Start getting over $150 for a phone, I get antsy.
That happens to me to. But usually when I do long task with it. Like moving a file that's 123MB from one SD to the other. Or making a backup with my backup pro. It doesn't happen again after the soft reboot.... Until I do another long task.
Is there any way to fix this?
It's $35 /mo.. but there is a $5 discount per month if you put a credit card on file and set it to auto pay. I have 3 phone lines I pay $30/mo for and two that I pay $25 for.
Hmm.... although maybe it is only for iPhone... Apple iPhone | Virgin Mobile USA . I'm not 100% sure... you could call and ask.
Event still, $35 a month for 4G service is pretty damn good. What use is pay $25 /mo if the phone doesn't even work most of the time on 3G?

Just curious, would you mind it i go through your ROM and offer suggestions through pm's?I've been using CM9 for about a month now, and although CM9 it's great, I'm returning back to sleipnirJust curious, would you mind it i go through your ROM and offer suggestions through pm's?
Keep in mind that most of the ROM has been ironed out, and it's near completion as far as any goals for it are concerned, with only a few left (CM swipe notifications if I can implement it, full kernel-level init.d support instead of ad-hoc support, some GUI updates, etc.). It's a barebones how-stock-should-have-been ROM in concept, and once it's done it's done for, well, good. Unless a bug is discovered or some apps need updating or something like that. Afterwards, Hydra will be updated one last time, and then it's off to other projects (like Project Mayhem) for the OE or compiling guides for other Android things, etc.
It's possible. I think I'll do for the SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk what I did with the entire build last time - open them up, and add only what was modified to the stock Aeneas .apks.
EDIT: I'm rebuilding the entire theme from scratch with UOT, and I might be able to edit xml files in APKs, finally, too. The status bar is going to change, as well as the blank/solid-black category spacers on the notifications menu too. I'm going to try for a more-holo look.
Notification swipe doesn't seem to hard, I was looking it up on xda and its really nothing more than a few xml changes

To add to this: I've looked at most/all of the other pre-paid, non-contract providers out there. Just about everyone is $10-$20 more, at a minimum, than Virgin Mobile, for the same benefits we get from VM. You can find other plans that only give you parts of what we have, and lesser in the other categories, but for unlimited data (with throttling at 2.5GB), unlimited texts, and 300 anytime minutes at a minimum, I haven't found anything close to the same at a similar price point.
