Root [ROM][WIP]CM7.2.0 RC1-BobZ

Yea I tried that with the 11-13-11 version and still no luck.. but ill do a backup on the rom im on and try it again.

Edit: tried to delete telephony.DB again and still no luck even after reboot any other suggestions?

does it work on any other rom? Set to evdo or cdma autoprl? Data options all enabled? You use something like go launcher or handcent?

Yea it works on the other roms but not this one, I'm using cdma auto Prl,all enabled nd no I don't. Just adw ex

So you dont use chomp go sms or any other?
If you dont then try using one and seeing if it will send a message or at least show it. If its not then Im out of ideas. It could just be the phone not responding to a specific item in the rom. Idk what mmssms.db does. Idk about deleting that. Unless you do a backup first in case something goes wrong

I mean on this rom it looks like its goingbto send but doesn't, I'm pretty sure it may send with go SMS but I'd rather stick to the stock SMS.

You should at least try it, there's nothing wrong that could happen. Theres always uninstalling the app(Chomp,go sms, handcent) or going back to a nandroid restore. Just try and see if it works.

And also did you ever have 2.2.2 and then downgrade?

Nope I'm original 2.1 , and I already switched roms back, but once I feel like giving it a try ill come back with some feedback.

I just don't like the other messaging apps.

Lol, its okay. I don't either :P. Ima check right now and see if I can manually fix it. Maybe theres something in an xml file that seems to be doing causing some problems on this rom.

So yours wont work either?

At first it didnt, the fixes never worked on any cm rom i had. I always had to do the telephony.db for some reason :\

I was just using the apnbackup and restore to see the editing xml to see if something was wrong, but it seems nothing is labeled as enabled or disabled. So im pretty much stumped ._____.

So how did you get yours to work?

I just deleted the DB file and it randomly worked. I tried using Apennines backup and restore. I noticed a huge difference. On a stock rom apn backup, it saves around 30kb. On cm its like 300kb. So I made a backup of the stock rom apn backup and went onto Bob's rom and made a apn backup of the apn as well. Then I clicked restore apn and chose the apn from the stock rom and rebooted using terminal. Then I went over to data/data/com.android.providers.telephony and deleted the DB file. And soon enough it worked.

Hey bob good job on the latest update. I haven't had time to work on my own build but i downloaded yours and flashed it. running very smooth! still need to update that apn list to mine so mms will work out of the box though ;)

So how would I do this manually?

FIRST: start off by downloading an app from market called apn backup and restore. Once downloaded go and select backup apn and it should say 20118483848.XML just change it to bobzhome-apn.XML then once its saved go to recovery and nand backup bobz rom and wipe and flash the teamchickeneater rom. Once installed go to market and also download the apn backup and restore. Click on the backup apn and rename the 2011748374849.XML to teamchickeneater-apn.XML and make sure it got saved. Once saved go back to recovery and nand restore bobz rom. Let it boot up and then open the apn backup and restore app. Select the restore apn and select the teamchickeneater-apn.XML then click yes. It should say a log like success failed restored. Once thats done just reboot the phone. Then go send a message to yourself. If it doesn't send at all then go straight to the telephony.DB and delete it. I just did this and got it working without deleting the telephony.DB at all or any flashing. Don't worry about bricking or losing service because you will always have the backup XML from bobz to always restore :P

Hope this helps you, good luck mate. :D

Ok so I tried to backup an apn and its says 1 failed null.

And then when I try to restore the Apn it says failed on a different rom. Any tips?

That's not suppose to happen :/ like what Bobz. Saying is. Not all phones were created equally. Imbtruly stumped now :l maybe rename the cm apn to like apn-broken.XML open the file on notepad on your computer and find the keywords disable or enable. If none show then this is a problem with the phone not adding the apn to the rom.

This was the apn I tried to backup from bobz.

Ok see I tried to restore reppards cm apn, do you think thats why?

Needs to be a stock apn restored on a cm rom. If you noticed. Bobz is newer than Reppards causing a previous version needed to make it work. It has to be stock apn or teamchickenater apn backup restored on a cm rom. I also want to see how many lbs the XML files are. The stock should be around 30 40kbs and the bobz apn is around 330 or 390kb. Reppards and bobz are basically similar just missing some.
