Root [ROM][YACR] CM 7.1-Reppard

Well just wipe the rotate settings phone still seems to respond slow when rotating the phone.wasn't happening on other roms any idea?

I did, and it worked. I'm testing everything to see if I stay with Reppard's. Right away noticed the screen rotation faster than the other two CM7 roms.

Ok so I have found a workaround if you would like to use this Rom and you are one of the user's like me and have the black screen no matter if its booted using this latest version.

All you have to do is download this Rom and then download PlaufulGods Plague kernel from his thread.

1.Reboot into recovery.

2.wipe data(cache,etc.)

3.Flash this Rom.

4.Then flash PlayfulGods plague kernel.

Then reboot. Should fix problem until Reppard fixes our problem :D

Nothing really seems to be different just the kernel(pretty much what the devs did differently in their kernels)

They should :D
 
I tried the latest update and had blank.screen. I wanna try this fix. So if I clear cache and dalvik cache I can just flash over the previous reppard rrelease.and flash playful kernel and it should work without having to redo my whole phone correct

just to be safe make a nand Backup.
 
I did when i update the last time. to the most recent update. and it said ERROR.
Ok. So if i update to the newest rom. JUST a nandroid backup. Then clear cache and dalvik. if it doesnt work. Do i have to reflash to the previous rom before i do the nandroid restore.
 
It seems to me when I try to have more than 2 backups it errors out. So I usually copy all to my computer and delete all off my SD except for latest
 
Flashed newest rom over previous and flashed plaugue kernel. I can also confirm the rom works now. O like the android Guy.boots faster.no screen orientation lag.and animations work. I also like the CPU scaling of smartass.as opposed to v2. Keyboard is more responsive now as well. Nerd ingenuity strikes again! On a side not my pregnant gf keeps wondering why are you always messing with your phone! She has same phone.2.2.1 I keep trying yo convince her to let me do her phone

Well thanks it worked.the rotation seems to be much better now

By data, do you mean your personal stuff, and files? If you do a nand back up in recovery, you can restore just the ext partition once you've flashed and booted into the ROM the first time. Also, it helps greatly if you use Titanium Back-up (or the back-up app of your choice). It can be used to restore your apps after the flash.
 
rotation isnt as snappy as it is on my DX but its not what I would call slow either, just not umm instantaneous.
 
how can i remove the cyanogen V7.1 from the drop down menu?


edit: i flashed the mms fix and now its gone :-)
 
Wiped cache/ davlik cache and flashed over last build rebooted it a few times. Now it boots really fast. No black screen. Bravo sir.
 
A few odd quircks going on
If I reboot my phone while charging.sits on red LG screen until I unplug it.
I notice new CPU scaling. If I use one of the new speeds.say 710mhz. The screen glitches and jumps around

having same issue screen jumps all over the place and i have to reboot for it to work again. only stable setting for me with the newest rom is 600 anything else cause's the screen glitching. I can OC stable at 806 on other roms. ANd on previous versions of this one

I forked PG's plague kernel source as a basis for the kernel build. I haven't looked at the available frequencies but it sounds like there are some that shouldn't be available so I will take a look at that. Have to keep with the same multiplier. Plague is based off LG's source for the LW690 which has the same hardware as the MS690. For some reason the graphics drivers for the LW seem to work a lot better then the MS. Go figure. Still gotta change some things here and there.
