Root [ROM][YACR] CM 7.1-Reppard

First of all thanks to Reppard for taking the time to do an awesome work with this ROM.

I've been running Joneidy's Blue Sense Rom and it did ran very good with no issues at all, yet I'm a fan of the CyanogenMod which I run on my Nook Color and runs great. Few days ago I switched to the CM7.1-Reppard-r.O.C.K.-v1.0 @806mhz. Battery life is great, best one so far from the ROM's I have tried. So far no issues at all, phone runs super fast and everything works like I expect.

I then updated the CM7.1-Reppard-r.O.C.K.-v1.0 with the update CM7.1-IHO-Reppard-9-15-2011 and the Plague Kernel-v2.0 and although it was running smooth I encounter a problem every time I rebooted the phone so I went back to CM7.1-Reppard Rom r.O.C.K Kernel-v1.0@806mhz without the update(IHO-Reppard-9-15-2011) since I was getting stuck at the black screen. Overall, the ROM that I'm running at the moment is the best one so far with no issues. I have my best Quadrant score running this ROM which is 1304 beating my previous 1287 with the same ROM.
Once again thanks to Reppard and everyone else for their time and hard work.

Here is my best score.

Ive tried all of the new cpu speeds under 728, they all function fine on my phone. I've tried them all in scaling and all of them without. Can't reproduce the oddball speed screen glitch at all... I was looking into the problem but my phone will not do it.

our optimus M's are limited by the rev.0 evdo radio I dont know what the top upload speed is on rev.) but what you have there, just under 200 is the average upload im seeing on all the phone tests I have seen.

The EV-DO feature of CDMA2000 networks provides access to mobile devices with forward link air interface speeds of up to 2.4 Mbit/s with Rel. 0 and up to 3.1 Mbit/s with Rev. A. The reverse link rate for Rel. 0 can operate up to 153 kbit/s, while Rev. A can operate at up to 1.8 Mbit/s.

Rev.A only matters for tethering or 3g modems. The Rel. 0 is plenty fast enough for use as a phone. People on "4g" LTE phones with metro are just barely beating the maximum data rate for EVDO Rev.A.

I don't think our phones will ever be limited by it's radio, Metro would never give us what they consider 4g speed on our 3g phone. Maybe someday if they actually get REAL 4g speed, but I don't see it....

i've been having issues with the camera app taking bad quality pictures than ever before and also randomly rebooting when i start it or when i take a picture

I've installed this rom but I'm having a minor problem. When I turn my phone completely off and put it to charger, the phone will suddenly boot up and begin to charge. Is there anyway to fix this? like being able to keep the phone turned off completely and still charge the battery?

I think this is one of those known issues. Other people have mentioned this on here as well as the other two CM7 threads. I've got it too.

the problem with metros speed is they cant afford to buy more spectrum for the 4g network.. however.. metro and t-mobile are the only true 4g comanies on the market at this time.. this means that with the rapid growth of metro, and with them now upgrading their entire network with 4g coverage, at some point in the future after everything is upgraded, they will havhe the customer base and the income to support the purchase of more spectrum, and therefore higher speeds for all. metro is a fairly new company, being around just under 5 years, and right now they are thr 5th largest supplier of wireless int eh country with 12 million customers and reported an 11% growth int he last quarter.. they are ont eh right track.. it will just take some time to be able to compete witht eh big 4, one of which, t-mobile, at&t is currently trying to buy, and from what i can tell not for any other reason than they are their #1 competitor, they have the resources to upgrade their own network from wi-max to actual 4g, they just havent invested in doing so. and the DOJ is currently trying to block the sale of t-mobile to at&t, which i agree with,, but that another story all together. anyway, metropcs if they continue ont he route they are going will soon enough have speeds competing with the big4.. just gonna take some time.

Actually, I've been with Metro for almost 10 years now and they where officially established as 'MetroPCS' in '98. But, they have come a long way since then. I would love to see them grab some of that at&t spectrum.

I have been with metro for 6 or 7 years now.

But i am about to make a change. and if you live in south florida and want a 1000X better service get yourself a t-mobile android and take it to simple mobile. Uncapped 4g/3g on T-mobiles network. Down here where i live in Ft. Lauderdale they have a deal with Tmo that Tmo will not sell Flexpay plans here in SoFla just sell the customer a phone and send them to Simple Mobile. And simple mobiles part is they don't offer their normal service plans like they do in Puerto Rico here in the mainland US. Atleast thats what my brother in-law tells me. my x brother in law actually. and his brother is opening a Simple Mobile store here in Ft. Lauderdale.

yeah after writing that post.. i thought about it and remember seeing commercials for about a year b4 i switched over to them.. ive had them for almost 5 years now lol

umm actually verzion and at&t are the only ones with true 4g ;)

LOL @ semantics.

Sprints wimax network is 4g technology. At&t and T-mo are using HSPA+ which is technically 3g.

4g is only a marketing term in the current landscape.

and yet atleast here in ft.lauderdale florida area T-Mobile is faster till you reach your cap based on your plan. they have it tiered now at Norm 2gb Highspeed then 3g 5gb then 3g or 10gb a month then 3g. silly thing is my buddies T-mobile Sensation's Speed tests blow away the Verizon Droid Bionic that my dad sports.
