Are you going to have access to a pc any time soon? It's much easier to preserve your sd card data saving to a pc and then just copying it back after the partition. I didn't realize dropbox wouldn't let you up a folder off the phone... Someone has to have a way around that...

Also it was easier than I thought, though I know you're doing it with dropbox so that's little different, but sure you could do it. Also, I suggest maybe trying to send & receive test documents first to see how that goes before doing it with phone

Edited: Maybe dropbox won't work - per what someotherdood just said. But link above still helpful when you get ready to do.
 
Ill wait for access to PC.. Mondays not far.. lol Cm 7 just wont save themes I set. Keyboards I set.. nothing. I'm guessing its my SD. Card..every preference returns to default after reboot.. most stuff downloads from market but about 10% fail.. thank you both very much.. hopefully partitioning helps this

Partitioning will solve your issues, just make sure you upgrade to ext3 after partitioning, it's not completely needed but it makes it faster.
 
Hey, I'm having an issue with this awesome rom. When I try to call an international number (starting with +) I get almost immediately a "The call has been lost"... anyone else experienced this? I was able to call without any problem before flashing this rom (stock) and I can still call other local phones.

Yes i've had trouble with that too, but with stock it gave me the same "call has been lost" error, so i don't think its this ROM, it may be with MetroPCS. I just take out the +

depending on how big ur sd card is have you tried using root explorer to zip everything up? and then upload.. i think root explorer has the capability,,.. if not im sure there is an app somewhere
 
The rom works great so far! :D But atm theres one issue: My service isn't as good, ill have 1 or 2 bars and all of a sudden it drops to zero. And my market only works when I'm connected to wifi... Ehh?
 
Ok so theres no A2sd support? Isnt that what the ext3 is for?

Reppard, Now that this is functional and not a beta. I have got quite a few people who want this rom on there phones But cant do it. They are donating to me. So when its done i will donate to you..BUT paypal says you cannot recieve money!

I'll try to get the files to zip, but wouldnt I have to have at least over half of my sd card memory available

Thank you very much razor, that would be greatly appreciated! My paypal account got limited access because I changed addresses. I have to wait for some stupid crap to come in the mail and confirm my new address. Should be back up in a couple of days. Thank you once again. Also I should have an update tomorrow night. Thanks to Bobz I got the screen animations working. Also took my first stab at theming tonight. Fun is yet to be had!

Also reppard. I dont know if you saw my post in the original thread for beta. But the programming menu did not work in that release. Any chance it does in this one?
 
Thanks for your responses! I tried GOContacts and as soon as I press dial with a phone number starting with a +, it would take me to the stock dialer and same message "The call has been lost". (please note that if I don't add the + the call will not connect even in the rom where it works)

I went back to my nandroid backup of 2.2.1 and I can call without any problem, so it might be an issue with the rom, which is bad, because I sooo want to have this rom (had it for a few hours and loved it!).
Can I help in troubleshooting this? Maybe getting some logs? I can reflash the rom again to try, no problem! just tell me where to look.
 
Solid ROM and Kernel except for that you cant download multiple apps from the market at the same time (I can't download Evernote at ALL).It gives the insufficient space etc. error. But I know I have plenty of space. Also, will you ever include support for 802.1X Enterprise WIFI?
 
I'm having the same issue as the guy above. i deleted ex3 partition, formatted sd card, wiped all data, then re flashed. but after about 8 app installs it gives me insufficient memory error again!!!, when i have plenty left :confused:

i'm i doing something wrong, i don't want the aps2sd thing that the other cm7 rom had (but if that will solve my problem i will do it)

I flashed from reppards old cm7 rom with GNM recovery
 
I am having the same problem as MartinFlores39, from what I can gather it seems that ext does not play nice with this ROM.

You can manually install .apks but the market will think that you don't have enough memory. Clearing market data or re-installing the Market app won't help either.

Someone said that ext is an alternative to app2sd but in reality the ext partition is in the SD card. So no support for App2sd means no support for EXT.

Reppard did say that app2sd support will come soon, so being patient is the thing to do.
