Root [ROM][YACR] CM 7.1-Reppard

I am having the same problem as MartinFlores39, from what I can gather it seems that ext does not play nice with this ROM.

You can manually install .apks but the market will think that you don't have enough memory. Clearing market data or re-installing the Market app won't help either.

Someone said that ext is an alternative to app2sd but in reality the ext partition is in the SD card. So no support for App2sd means no support for EXT.

Reppard did say that app2sd support will come soon, so being patient is the thing to do.

Did you try to repair ext partition in recovery? That usually works.

Ok, I hope I am not being too much of a noob. But here's the problem, recently I have been unable to receive picture messages. It says the file size and has the download button but it never downloads to anywhere. If anyone has any input I would appreciate it. Also I can't seem to get any apk file (whether from the market or ddl) to not give me the error, "insufficient space." Again, sorry for being oblivious. I did read and searched like crazy for a definitive solution to my problems but to no avail. Thanks in advance guys and thanks to reppard for this awesome rom.

Already re-partitioned the SD Card. No Ext

but i think i might have to re-flash the ROM because apps are still not installing.

So i found something that might help some of you guys. I was having the same issues with out of memory for app installs and I swear i setup DTAPPS properly. So what i did to fix it was set the phone to mass usb deleted everything that was on the SDCARD disconnected from Mass usb. The phone will then prompt you that you have inserted a blank SD card. Go to storage in settings. and mount/remount the SD card it will ask you to format cause it is blank. Once that is complete redo the DTAPPS. I know they say that partitioning the card wipes all the data but for some reason there always seemed to be some hidden files that would not go away. Also get a cache cleaner and run that once the phone is back up and running.

I'm just getting to many errors and stuff with this rom, this rom has great battery life, amazing speeds, etc.. But untill some flaws get worked out i'm gonna have to go back to sense.. I really love this rom :( dammit... Just too much for me to do to get it working correctly...

I think the issue is with the updated market. Go to manage apps > market > and uninstall update. See if that helps.

I'm sorry you are having problems with this ROM. I have been running this for a week now, and have had no problems. I can use the market, with or with out wi-fi. I don't seem to be having any problems with fc's (or at any rate, no more than I had with other roms I've used). I got the DT a2sd beta 4 running with no problems. I haven't had any problems downloading more than one app at a time either.

Yes. My sd is partitioned into an ext3 partition and a fat partition. I didn't set up a swap partition 'cause I had read somewhere that Android doesn't really make use of it. If i'm wrong on that, someone please correct me.

I am having the same issue, not being able to install apps from the market. I don't have a2sd by the way. What I did was a df, and saw that cache and dalvik-cache are almost full. I have some apks in my sd card, and was able to install them without a problem. I think that the problem is that it sees there is not enough space and therefore the market doesn't allows you to install more (had a similar issue in my old moto droid).
Reppard, is dalvik-cache in /cache? can we switch it back to /data?

edit: Also, removing the new market let's me download, but every installation is unsuccessful.

I just re-flashed the ROM and it is EXT.

This time I made sure to delete the entire card and make no EXT partitions. Because of that I have no more problems with the market.

***Update*** The problem doesn't seem to be with the Ext as I got the problem again. -.-

If I uninstall Market updates, the problem only gets worse as the market just closes.

CM7 can use swap.. but its not worth it, it actually hinders performance..

For those having problems with EXT, try going to your Partition menu in recovery and repairing the ext, if that doesnt work, convert to ext4 partition as it will work with this rom, if that doesnt work,, i dunno what to tell you.. been runnin this rom since release and not a single force close, everything works great. If your ahving problems, you can always try to start from scratch formatting everything, re-doing the partition b4 you flash the rom, then flash the rom and gapps, and then reboot, and flash a2sd script after initial boot, something i do that i didnt see covered anywhere is on the first boot, skip setup and go to Settings> CyanogenMod Settings> Applications and set it to save to INTERNAL memory, then reboot into recovery, clear Cache and Dalvik-Cache, then flash a2sd script, beta04 requires no setup, just flash it after partitioning card, and when you reboot, it should move everything to the sd automatically. boot takes a bit because its got to rebuild dalvik cache, hope this helps

It looks like wiping the /dalvink cache, /cache, battery settings (I just went crazy :P), and clearing the data from the market app will solve this.

At least thats how I solved my problem. Hope it works for the rest of you. :D

I had the same problem with space, after sign in with google account and select the apps to install.it would fail.due to space
Then i set up a2sd and it doesnt do it
i have 150mb free internal

Flashed this ROM a few days ago and am loving it now that I got it to work completely. Was getting the out of memory and invalid package file errors with the Market but partitioning and flashing the DarkTremor A2SD fixed it and haven't had any problems since.

Has anyone else experienced lag on the lockscreen like it takes a second or so more than it ought to to show the lock after you wake the phone? Is this related to the screen on/off animations not being present?

Also not meaning to threadjack but my main reason for flashing another ROM from stock rooted was because my stock 2.2.1 kept randomly freezing and rebooting and it was annoying. Instead of paying another 10 bucks to Metro for another replacement (this one replaced my original 2.2 due to SD read issues), I flashed this thinking it would solve the problem but I still get the occasional, although less frequent, freeze and reboot. Is there any fix for this?

I got my first Optimus back in January when there wasn't even any ROMs except for a rooted stock 2.2 and looked at CM users with envy. Now 9 months later we have not only Cyanogen in 3 different ROMs (that I can count) but several other ROMs as well and a great team of modders and users backing this now. Pure awesomeness.

Im sorry to say the freeze reboot is most likely a faulty hardware issue.
I have never had that problem with my optimus.
And most people that have had that issue say a custom rom helped or least lessened the frequency of the problem but that is most likely the result of less stress on the hardware.
