Just got rooted on my newly bought EVO. It appears the stock ROM works, but do I need to be cautious of using ROMS posted from before the 2.3.3 root?

nope just flash away. just make a nandroid backup first. also try the new sense 2.1 and sense 3.0 roms they are amazing. so much better then froyo and much better then gingerbread stock. try mikg 2.45. amazing rom!!!!!!!!!

mikg 2.45 is the first ROM that I've flashed and let me tell you... I am VERY happy. This phone is so much faster not sure on the batter life yet but I'm very happy!!! I can see how this will become addicting, but which rom to try next? Also one question what is ASOP? Does it mean something or just a user name? Sorry but I can't seem to find anything about it. Thanks again for all the hard work!

aosp stands for andoroid open source project. it is pure android with no sense added to it. you can try those if you like they are pretty good. i am one of the few that actually likes both aosp and sense roms. some people either like them or they do not. it is a matter of preference. check it out.
 
I also like both. Haven't used an aosp rom since MikG came out. Might have to try out decks, heard its good.
Addicted to Mik3D, just one fix. :D

I wanted to do 3D but I saw it was a beta so I wasn't sure. Any bugs to speak of? Cause I really wanna try it out.

I was skeptical at first as well, then I tried the alpha release, and I was blown away. MikG rocks, Mik3D is like a rock festival! :D
The alpha is rock solid, I'm flashing the beta tonight.

supercharged and overclocked to 1190. my phone is on speed now!:D
