ok.. you have TWRP or CWM already installed?

Kingoroot not kingroot, rashir to flash hroark13's CWM image on the first page of Hroarks PC root & recovery method. Wipe and flash one of BCRischsters ROMs if you're so inclined. Enjoy!

And you need to have kingo user downloaded off play store before u attempt Kingo Root.

Just a quick note all. You can knock Kingoroot out of the way for superSU on the stock concord 2 ROM IF, IF you wanna run stock with supersu kingo has no SU blocker!!! Just download SuperSU and uninstall Kingo and viola folks!!!

Kingo is a temproot. So it will be unrooted at reboot/on-off unill you switch to SuperSU Or flash one of BCRichsters ROMs which include SuperSU's installation for you on his ROMs for the ZTE Concord 2. Juuuuuuust in case anybody's unsure.

I have cwm but it will not download zip but will try kingoroot do you know if it will work with lg optimus lite

Lol ok..... Jus thought u knew what phn I was trying to get the invert for. But I see now makes sense lol..... Duh

your welcome

can you give some feed back after you do one

let me know if it worked or not

let me know if anything in the instructions was really confusing

I am thinking of making a video for noobs, but if I dont need to do it, I do not want to waste time

ROOT AND CWM RECOVERY FOR ZTE CONCORD 2

This would not be possible with out the ASEC exploit by jcase, if it was not for people like him, developers like ShabbyPenguin and myself would not be able to do any work on these phones, so we are grateful to him and you should be as well, please show your gratitude to him in some way, even if it just a post in this thread saying thank you.

This exploit was taken from The Practical Android Exploitation document found here

http://theroot.ninja/PAE.pdf

It is a very interesting read, I recommend reading it if you are interested in Android security.

Thanks to Koush for making ClockWorkMod source code, he is an awesome guy.

Thanks to Chainfire for his SuperSU, he is awesome as well

ShabbyPenguin and I worked on the recovery and recovery install script, which is specific to this phone.

THE ZTE CONCORD 2 HAS SYSTEM WRITE PROTECTION, EVEN IF YOU HAVE ROOT ACCESS YOU CAN NOT RE-MOUNT THE SYSTEM PARTITION AS READ/WRITE WHEN YOU ARE BOOTED FROM THE "BOOT" PARTITION, THIS IS A FUNCTION OF THE BOOT LOADER AND IS BEYOND MY ABILITY TO RECTIFY

HOWEVER

IF YOU BOOT FROM THE "RECOVERY" PARTITION THE SYSTEM WRITE PROTECTION IS OFF, SO THREW A CUSTOM RECOVERY WE CAN INSTALL OUR ROOT FILES AND MAKE MODS TO THE PHONE AND SUCH

THE IS ONLY FOR THE ZTE CONCORD 2 IF YOU USE THIS ON SOME OTHER PHONE AND BRICK IT, THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM FOR NOT READING

FOR THOSE THAT ARE USING THIS ON THE ZTE CONCORD 2, ROOTING YOUR PHONE AND INSTALLING A CUSTOM RECOVERY WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY, AND IF YOU USE ROOT OR RECOVERY ACCESS TO DO SOMETHING ABNORMAL WITH YOUR PHONE AND BRICK IT, THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM, NOT MINE

You need to have a Windows Computer for this.

You need to have USB debugging enabled on the phone

You need to have your phone plugged into your computer

You need to have the ZTE USB drivers installed on the computer, when you have your phone plugged into a Windows computer, there should be an emulated CD drive that has the USB driver on it, run the setup.exe to install the USB driver

Here is a video made by Wonderlust

NEW VERISION 3 WITH UPDATED BATCH SCRIPT BY twig123
https://mega.co.nz/#!2k1kzTxA!NuFYKdVivHU-1Fgk8-VEEG-45kN94QmBEy0tIoFpO4g

old version
ADA-ASEC-ROOT-CWM-V2

Extract it to some location
Double click the ADA-ASEC-Root.bat to install CWM and Root your phone

The phone should reboot a few times, and go into CWM, and install root

You will probably get a message in CWM about "Root access possible lost"

You can choose "Yes fix root"

Now you will have SuperSU installed, you will be rooted, and you will have Clock Work Mod installed

This is how you can boot into ClockWorkMod

From a powered off state hold Volume Up and Power Button and it will boot to CWM

thanks for your hard work i really appreciate it, but for some reason when i try to uninstall system apps on Titanium Backup Pro, or on any other root exploring app such as Rom Toolbox Pro, it says "Uninstall Failed" if theres anything you can do to help, i would greatly appreciate it, Please and Thank you.

So, whats the point of rooting if i cannot uninstall the bloatware?

Also, there is no custom rom for it, I do not think there will ever be one since there isnt one for the Huawei Vitria yet either.
same here, i can't uninstall any BLOATWARE AT ALL!!! keeps saying "Uninstall Failed"

system partition is write protected, so those methods dont work

Same here, I was successful to get root access:
  • Go to Settings | Connect to PC | Enable USB debugging "On (Checked)"
  • Go to Settings | Security | Unknown Sources | "On (Checked)", and Verify apps "Off (Unchecked)"
  • Download "Kingo SuperUser [Root]" from Google Play Store
  • Launch Kingo SuperUser | Go to "Kingo Root" from Settings menu
  • It will launch a browser and lead to Kingo ROOT website
  • Tap "Download for Android"
  • Download "KingoRoot.apk" (Path: /Phone/Download)
  • Find "Download" app from the menu
  • Tap "KingoRoot.apk" and install it
  • Launch Kingo ROOT
  • Tap Go to Superuser (I tried several times)
  • Cross your fingers!
OK, followed your outline there to the letter. Ran Kingoroot 8 times. Gets to 90% and says failed. Kingouser and SuperSU installed, binaries won't update. HOWEVER...I can boot to CWM recovery (vol up+power). Wtf?

You deffinetly have to flash Hroark13's CWM img. If U have and have it as youre custom recovery then you had to have atleast had Root access or you wouldnt have been able to flash a recovery IMG. though rite? If you have a recovery run one of bcrichters roms followed lastly by flashing the most updated SU zip. Wipe delv & reg int cashe, reboot system. Are you rebooting after you attempt/root? Kingo unroots at reboot/phn off-on. Let me knw what youre seing when you run Kingoroot with Kingouser already in place.

my ROMs actually have latest SuperSu.zips built into the ROM flash, so that's good to go.

Very True, very true. You can run supesu over kingo & get rid ah kingo though on its stock rom!lll lol....... Kinda forgot about SuperSU already being included within youre Concord 2 ROMs Ya SU shouldn't be an issue [emoji51]

Alrighty, so I flashed over SuperSU, and got root. Yay. Now CWM won't mount external sd, and when I try from internal to flash the Jo!!y X, it says E: Can't open /data/media/0/J0!!y_ xper!ment.zip (bad). I've downloaded it from four different mirrors, always the same. Any one have an idea...?

Worth a try for sure. Had an issue with my second Concord 2. CWM IMG flashed fine and all but it wouldn't flash a rom or anything. all I could do was wipe cache etc. Which is how I ended up running/discovering that you could run SuperSU over Kingo on stock ROM. Which is risky but worked! But ya go with bcrichsters advice...... Hit me back if it's a no go. But I deffinetly had recovery issues on my second concord 2.

Can you get me a link to Hroark13's CWM.img? I don't have it as a standalone file. I think the one that's on my phone now wandered over from the ADSEC_bat.

Re flashed recovery. No dice. It still says E: Can't open /data/media/0/J0!!y_ xper!ment.zip (bad). And external sd won't mount. Grrrrrr...... I wonder if it could be shoved over through ADB...
