Root Root for Fierce 2?

Yes, usb debug is enabled but adb wont install. I tried looking for it and downloading it myself to install manually but the sources I found provide adb with download managers that want to install other irrelevant software that is not wanted.
If you have a clean source that would be great, and appreciated greatly.

Hi, I have the same phone and desperately would like it rooted...

I made an installer for ADB for you, without any BS downloader.

https://mega.co.nz/#!BRpgyLIR!D6-hCqoMPTp0sEjkHMvGRct831QTfS3GgLQ3cPxdg_0

After installing, just open a CMD (as administrator) and ADB should work fine from there, drivers n all.

There will also be an Uninstall entry added to Program and Files in Control Panel should you ever decide uninstall ADB.

Good luck rooting this thing,
Hydranix

Waste their time? So any device that isn't flagship class or from a well known manufacturers isn't worthy of their "precious" time? Nice. Real nice.
exactly. you do understand the concept that time = money? then add family etc.

anybody try this srs root tool?

thy claim root for 7040n but seems dubious given date was October. still... maybe slipped the radar as this isn't a popular phone.

In the phone's storage settings, you'll see the "Default Write Disc" option and select "SD Card" instead of "Phone Storage". The core apk or application file(anywhere from 1 to 50MB) will still be stored in the phones internal memory but, any additional data the app needs will stored on the external SD card. I have 15 apps(three are large one GB+ games) installed on my phone and I still have over 1 GB of free internal storage space.
you're not running ART. and that makes KK more akin in speed to JB. I have 20 something apps installed & regularly clean app cache + write to SD & move parts of data apk to sd manually & where allowed; still only 300MB left via /data on a good day. there is NO non root means of fixing this, and the fact you have large obb files on external_sd is irrelevant. I have 60GB of music on external_sd but that is also irrelevant to the very limited /data storage available on this device. it is the Achilles heel & has me looking at a Moto G when LTE model hits... Alcatel sales & marketing teams apparently loathe the idea of selling more units, that much we know. Sorta like picking a model name with the scope of a sentence, these are not tech's finest, lmao

Apps installed with the ART run time are effectively doubled in size, so it's not surprising your device is running out of space. For that reason and that some apps don't work well with ART is why I keep my Kitkat devices on the standard Dalvik run time. Even on the Dalvik run time, I find Kitkat to be faster, more responsive and more fluid than Jellybean.

ART is much faster than DAVLIK, night and day almost in how quickly 7040N responds & multi tasks, and I don't even need a memory manager. No decent app updated in the last 6-12 months should fuss, and this phone's internal memory is severely limited w/ no meaningful way to ideally correct short of root: bottom line.

You're welcome to think ART isn't much faster though, and Google is welcome to laugh at that proposition. The notion that Davlik ought to be run on all KK devices with a suitable /data partition is both stoic and idiotic at the same time, but certainly understandable on an anemic internal storage phone such as this. I won't be partaking tho...

it totally isnt faster when it jumps from 800mb in dalvik than switch it to art and all those files jumped to 1.9 and my phone was locking

At the end of the day, we don't have root and this phone's getting long in the tooth w/o it. Glad it works well for you w/o ART. ART is default in Lollipop so, happening one way or another. I love it and if there's one thing this phone is to me is STABLE.

I cleaned up a few posts that were tiptoeing into the realm of snarky and baiting. Let's try and keep it civil and treat each other with respect. Feel free to disagree, but do it without the attitude or making it personal.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming ...

Never said ART wasn't faster than Dalvik. I'm just comfortable with Dalvik and to be honest I've never tried the ART run time in any of the Kitkat devices I've owned. Maybe I'm old fashioned but, I like the way my Kitkat devices function already so I've never really been curious enough to try it.

I agree that 4gig ROMs are not sufficient and users will run out of space easily, especially in the ART run time. I hope in 2015 and going forward that android phones have 8gig ROMs minimum.

So a new update came out ....called 09001 it is roughly 97 mbs in size i recommend people not to download it because it may make root impossible.

On the other hand, it could be an update to address the bugs some users have reported having. So it's kind of a toss up whether to install the update or not.

I haven't really noticed any improvements my screen is still off a bit by where I touch, however the update removes our quick settings button and there is no way to access it via status bar anymore. However using a different launcher you can set a gesture and access them

Does swiping down from the top of the screen with two fingers still work?

Any news on this update? I'm seriously considering it if it fixes bugs.
Hey guys im new here, but i do know coding and all that stuff and i would like to see this phone rooted, i have the newest update on the phone, and i gotta say, its alot better, touch response improved (at least on my phone), and i dont have to double click links now, but i highly doubt that this will lead to being 'impossible' to root.

That's great! Those bugs were the only thing(beside root access) keeping this device from being an easy recommendation.

Do you guys have any other bugs? Because if you aren't sure about the update i can check and let you guys know, but for me, the update probably boosted the phone from a 6 to an 8 (because theres no root for now).

i had made slow progress . But the bootloader is a pain.
