any help with getting native vm notification would be great. Im running blue kuban rom on an e4gt with boost mobile
I havent got a VM notification on 1.0.5 r 1.0.5.1,if i have a missed call i check my VM, it is a small price to pay for such an awshom rom, but thats me. Check the market, thers prolly an app that can fix that. This latest update for the BLU KUBAN is awshom. The KUBAN rom updater and the AROMA installer makes this rom shake.I will try and find a fix and Ill post here.

This guy Febby is all over this subject. He is in with sextape, sextape provides the leaks that a lot of the custom ICS roms and kernels are based off of. You should be good with FEBBY's thread. FI22 is the modem/kernel base and updates for the ICS OS. All the different ICS updates carry FH29 FI25 FH31 FI27. theyre updates to the ICS Operating system. Once rooted you can jump to Jelly bean, GingerBread doesnt matter. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33070871&postcount=4 Hope this helps

Based on what ive read the letter number combos "ie" FH29 0r FI22are updates within the ICS build. Kernels/modems with few more tweaks and added things. Just an update from the previous build. So as long as you use an ICS kernel "cuz we r on ICS we need an ICS based kernel to achieve root" that the devs say is ok for BOOST or SPRINT to get root youll be fine. There are certain kernels for us to obtain root with, once rooted you can go back to the stock FI22 if you want to.

a few weeks ago i got Samsung Galaxy S2 from Boost Mobile. Rooting was a must since i got used to adfree and screenshot. Titanium is cool but other then restoring games i backup media regularly to PC. Worst case scenario i'll wipe and reinstall stock back on phone.

I used the steps from the first steps provided by guyphs (Thanks). when following the step to unzip supperuser from sd card it wasn't there. i did a battery pull and removed sd card and added supperuser.apk from PC. Put it back in and run Odin and unziped supperuser on phone. Reboot and i had root.

I read the post on loosing 3G and i looked into it. Went for a drive to test and i could not get 3g. It occurred to me that maybe it was turned off. I went to settings>more>mobile networks there the 3G data will probably be selected. un-select it and select it again. it will pick up 3g.

Coming home i found that my wifi networks did not pick up automatically looked into the settings and they weren't there. but wifi worked just identified my home wifi and put the wep key. works fine since then.

only thing i noticed that i didn't expect was that when u press the power button to turn on the screen (Not the phone) there is a slight delay, only 1 sec but noticeable.

downside is my screen timeout settings keep resetting to stock. For example i have a 2 min screen timeout. It will revert to the 15 sec. looking into it i think it happens because there is a battery saver mode in the phone if it gets bellow a certain battery percent. if i disable it i don't have a problem.

other then that phone works great with root and no signs of freezing or rebooting. apps so far work as their suppose to.

this is my current phone info...

Hey guy can you edit the op to say confirmed to work with fi22 build as well. As we go along update from time to time so people have something to up to date to resort to.. Most people won't back track through all the comments for an answer

Finally Rooted, just followed the instructions downloaded & extracted what needed to be DL'ed & Ext'ed. I was lazy & skipped pulling the battery, just powered off both times :) If I could figure this out anyone can. Big Thanks for all the Info guy's ;)

Im going to try this root method and i have a couple questions. I am currently on stock fI22. I downloaded the latest agat v0.6.8. Which i noticed was fI27 based... Im guessing that's the kernel version. I am worried about messing up my 4g speeds. Do i need to flash a separate kernel or modem afterwards to regain 4g?

I have everything in Odin set up as described in this guide, however after i pressed start Odin has stopped at this message "Get PIT for mapping.." I'm afraid to unplug my phone and its been stuck on that message for about 15 minutes. I read that it should only take a few seconds. Any help or knowledge on this?

Ok I managed to get past that but I'm stuck at the same spot another user was. Apparently it was his Pc drivers? Not exactly sure how he updated them manually but I'm also stuck at the zImage part now.

Still trying to figure this out. Downloaded the drivers from the samsung website as someone had linked them in the thread earlier. No go still. Never had a problem rooting/flashing with a phone before and I can't figure this out!

One more thing, I noticed people say their little yellow box thing in Odin says Id com4 and mine says 0:[COM4]
Not sure if that is of any use or help.

the com4 is ok,, try a different usb port

Thanks for your reply. I only have 2 ports on my laptop and I've tried them both. I don't think my PC is recognizing my device fully. Everytime i plug it in it says installing device drivers even though I had manually installed them from the samsung site already, and it also fails sometimes when "installing" I clicked hte bubble pop up to see which was and wasn't installing, I've gotten close to a full install but one thing always seems to fail out of the about 6 things listed.

have you installed kies?

I just used this method to root, and it worked flawlessly. I used AGAT's latest kernel, v0.68, and all is well. One thing I did notice, but was able to figure out by seeing it on youtube, is that vol-power didn't get me to the boot or recovery screen. I had to also hold down the "home" button. Anyone else notice this? Also, since AGAT's kernels won't support CM, does anyone recommend a good custom ROM?

Finally have root! All the good roms are through CM10 it seems such as Pa and PACman. For future reference, many people stated to stay away from touch recovery. I plan to flash back to EL26CWM GB so I can go ahead and flash PACrom myself. Is Agats kernel able to be flashed over, or would I have to flash back to stock before flashing EL26CWM?

Great question. I tried flashing over AGAT's kernel last night because I want to put a custom ROM on. I tried flashing Zedomax Epic Touch Kernel v3, and Odin passed it fine, but on reboot, it got stuck at the first yellow triangle logon screen. Looking for a good, safe, kernel that i can flash over AGAT's so I can flash custom ROMs. Anyone have any suggestions? And disregard the comment in the earlier post about the home button. That was just me and my newbness not pressing them at the same time. After trying for two days to flash a new kernel so I can install custom ROMS(unsuccessfully I may add), I at least am good at booting into ODIN or recovery, ha! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't get a kernel to flash over AGAT using Odin for some reason. Thanks!
