Root Root? i would if someone else did it

on reboot from device manager this is what it shows when revoked is rebooting
1st reboot
Android phone
..
.. loading bootloader interface..

2nd reboot

Android USB device
MY HTC

below that
Disk Drive
..
.
.
......External Technology
.....HTC ANDROID phone
...... USB Device

With the message on flash saying internal error:couldnt find misc.

ADB is not showing any missing drivers now if thats any good

Goto, control panel on your puter, install/uninstall programs and and check one more time that HTC SYNC is not on your PC. Please.

EDIT: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...?
 
Hi all went to turkeys and they talked me through a complete full RUU installation,that went fine then we tried flash again and it went a lot further than before, but :(again it came up with same message
"internal error:couldnt find misc" they said they have had this before and have been unable to fix this,so i think thats it for my desire, unless any of you have another idea,shame but my contract is up this year and will stick with android but probaly another mobile,
a big thanks for all your help and patience;) love the site and will probaly have some more puzzles for you fix :D cheers
 
this is fixable, apparently if you use a different version of unrevoked it will fix the problem

what version of unrevoked have you been running?
3.21 introduced misc protection
if you run an earlier version it will bypass it and complete the root

I'll keep an eye on this for the faq
 
another method is to make a gold card, use teppics downgrader to go to 2.1
use an early unrevoked like 3.14 to root then flash whatever rom you want when rooted via recovery

Tried v3.14 and v3.32 still same messages:(
 
did you try 3.2? not 3.21?

is your device on android 2.1 or 2.2 at the moment?
did they take you down the teppics downgrader route?

its on 2.2 they used this ruu RUU_Bravo_Froyo_O2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed
 
dammit i wish i was near you, i would hammer this device till i got it sorted. i like a challenge

btw you didnt by anychance do adb pm set installlocation 2 did you, to allow force of apps to sdcard?
it might be worth setting this to 1

did you do the thing with flashing misc?

Hi Rastaman,i havent done a adb pm set installlocation 2 ,how do i do it?
also do i need to downgrade from 2.2 to 2.1? ,theres a guide here
[HOWTO] Downgrade Froyo (2.2) to Stock 2.1 (ANY HBOOT | WIN/LINUX/MAC | ROOT) - xda-developers
if i need to.
my heads hurting lol

if you havent done the set pm location then dont worry about it. i was wanting you to turn it off

im surprised manually flashing misc using __unrevoked_su didnt work

downgrading to 2.1 allows you to use a much older version of unrevoked that works for 2.1. once rooted you can flash a froyo radio and update the phone back to a rooted 2.2 rom

i found a things that might still work
xda-developers - View Single Post - unrevoked 3.22 misc error
^ dont know if that works, rename it to update.zip and place it on sdcard
boot to hboot (voldown+power) choose recovery and press power (using volume rocker) when you get the exclamation mark hold volup+press power then choose apply update.zip
it may or may not work as you might have to be rooted to run this but i dont know as ive not tried it

Rasta, fyi, I had the app2sd hack before I rooted and it didn't effect the procedure.

hi rastaman,tried the update zip and it wouldnt open it and aborted installation,:( must have to be rooted to do this ,if i was absolutely sure it would work i would try the down grade option:o

from reports this does actually fix it mate

if you search your error in the xda then youll see nearly everyone that downgraded resolved it
 
ok,im ready to downgrade to a stock 2.1,tried every revoked but always same prob,internal erro: couldnt find misc
is there a good simple way of doing this? and will it run revoked then?
any guides would be appreciated,
also i ran this from turkeys guide

is there a stock 2.1 thats available and as easy to install?
