Root Root my phone for hire

While I would love to have my Ally rooted to get rid of the junk that hogs my resources I just don't feel comfortable doing this myself. How do I find someone to root my phone for me?

I'll do it, but you'd have to ship it to me Priority Mail and then I'd have to Priority it back to you. In other words, you'd be without a phone for about a week.....

I'll second this offer.

I'll do it for free, you pay shipping both ways; unless you live in WNY. Then, we'll work out meeting for coffee or something, and I'll do it.

Thanks for the 2 shipping offers but I'm really looking for someone local. Milwaukee area. You just can't look up in the yellow pages "Ally rooter" or I would have done that. Anyone in Wisconsin available?

The video makes it look easy. Also seen another video on youtube called Android Root. Or maybe it was called Universal Androot. Not really sure. Also looks easy. I will have to ponder my options carefully.

I rooted my phone with z4root it is one click and gives you choices for temp or permanent root and is reversible.

It depends if he/she is running 2.2.1.
I tried z4root, and Universal Androot on 2.2.1 today, didn't work, and i didn't expect it to.
By the way, if you use the SuperOneClick root guide (or whatever it's called), it may not be the greatest idea, due to the fact that you lose fastboot, and you can perm-brick your phone.

z4Root won't work on froyo and if you have fastboot on your phone already you don't lose fastboot using SuperOneClick, it just won't put it back on if you upgraded using LG Mobil Update or it shipped with a version newer than VS740ZV06.

Correct z4root and Unverisal Androot will not root the ally on 2.2.1. Your options are either the Rooting 2.2.1 guide or superoneclick.

Found a guy in town will root me for 20 bucks. Gonna have it done Tuesday or Wednesday. Will also put on a Rom for me. What should I go with? Velocity? looking for something that will help battery life.

Go with velocity 1.0. Just make sure he does a backup of your stock ROM for you before flashing.

Once you are rooted, flashing a ROM is very easy. You will be able to flash other ROMS anytime you want. Only takes a couple minutes.

not comfortable rooting, but comfortable enough to modify system files? Honestly if you're too scared to take the steps to root then you probably shouldn't be doing anything post root either.

Did you read that I am having him root and then flash a rom? I won't be doing anything but enjoying the benefits. :)
