Root [ROOT] One-click root for LG Connect 4G :: 3/3/2012

In reference to high temperature of the phone, I have also had these issues. My phone normally hangs around 100 and 104 when chargin. The lowest I have gotten it is 87 while it was sitting on top of a cooler for over and hour. The cooler used to drop my indulge to 19 whole tethered using 4g constantly and hold it there. I dot know if this is normal but I have not had any issues with extrely low battery life and I am still using lg keyboard for right now. Is this high temperature normal?

i think you should go to a metro store and change it.

i have been going through many threads on on here and it is a very common problem. my temps are normal/low for this phone apparently. some poeple have had their phones reach 130 to 150 while just playing angry birds wihtout charging. apparently lg says its a "software issue that will be fixed promptly". some people reported that their temps go down when they get an oem battery. extended batteryies seem to drop temp the most but it may register a low temp because it may not be able to read the temp of xl batteries correctly. someone said they had xl battery and they could barely hold their phone but the temp read like 90 or 100. slim batteries have dropped some peoples temps. they report their temp doesnt go over 90 or 97 anymore and normaly hangs about 80 or so. i was thinking about buying a longer lasting slim oem battery to see if itl kill two birds with one stone: heat, and low battery life (een though mine isnt so bad since i started to use gingerbread keyboard from play store instead of lg's keyboard.

Removing apps is not going to do much for battery like. Download Juice Defender and even the default settings will improve battery life a lot. Then check to see if you are having the keyboard battery draining issue many of us are having. If any of the keyboards are using more than say about 5-10% of the battery, then you might want to download the Gingerbread keyboard off the market. It is not my favorite, but until they figure out what the problem is, it will do.

I noticed my battery draining alot faster when LG Keyboard was taking 53% of my battery #smh.. So I installed Smart Keyboard Pro. Made a big difference.
 
Hi guys, I wanted to give a BIG THANKS to all the DEVS and people that figure out how to ROOT these Android Smart Phones and everything else!!!! AWESOME!!! This will be my 2nd Rooted phone, this site helped me do my Samsung Admire (that phone sucks BTW)! Anyway I just went and got the LG Connect (awesome phone) from Metro PCS for $250 and I am about to root it....

But I wanted to ask has anyone used the metro pcs drivers from here

one more thing, i have samsung admire drivers on my pc will it hurt to leave them installed and install the LG drivers or should i delete them before installing the LG drivers?

should be fine, I have Mot, LG, Samsung, Huawei, etc installed on my Win7 hdd lol

What does this mean exactly? Do you mean to turn on my phones wifi? How do I get my phone in "Internet Connection" mode?

Cool man, thanks for the quick reply but has anyone used the Metro PCS drivers that was posted or do you know anyone that has used them? Just want to make sure they work before I install them.....

Well I installed the metro pcs drivers and they did not work so I then installed the drivers from the first page of this thread and it's still not working... the root installer is saying this....

but it will not go no further than "daemon started successfully" it's been about 35 minutes now with no activity.

I have my LG Connect with the usb debuging checked and I have the internet option selected.


When I installed the drivers from the first page of this thread (after I installed the metro pcs one) I had to go through a set up new hardware wizard but I had to select the drivers to be installed manually and when I select the LG in the hardware there is like 4 options to choose from, I installed just the debugging option do I have to install the other three drivers? One was a LG Android USB modem and I forget what the other two were but I don't know how to get back to the wizard to install them. I am a Mac guy and I know a little about windows but not that much. My battery is charging while it's hooked up and being rooted does that have something to do with it? I am also connected to the internet on this windows laptop through my wireless home network, does the phone or rooting program have to get something from the net cause I am running a firewall.... I don't know what else to do, my Samsung Admire was easy to root but this LG Connect is not working for me.... bummer! Can someone connect to my windows laptop and help me out, PLEASE!!!

I just checked the rooting program and it's still just sitting there doing nothing, been like 50 minutes now. I am going to close it and wait for one of the SUPERMEN on here to help me out!

You open up Terminal (on your own, don't click the icons in the download). You have to know the file path to where you saved the file i.e: Users/"username"/downloads/spectrum_root_linux_osx where "username" is replaced by whatever name you made for yourself on the computer (without the quotes). On my mac I don't need the first part, I just type
"cd downloads/spectrum_root_linux_osx" (again, without quotes)
Once you know where you have the file unzipped at, type this into Terminal and hit Return after everyline (assuming you just saved it to the downloads folder):
cd downloads/spectrum_root_linux_osx
sh run.sh

It will probably say something like "Files/files/./adb.osx no such file or directory" The adb file for osx is missing from this download. Also, sometimes the command for Mac doesn't need "./" in front of it, that's a Linux thing.

Well I tried this on my PPC Mac and it will not run, it's for intel macs only! Can anyone port this program over so it will run on my PPC mac? I am running Mac OS X 10.4.11 running PPC (not intel)... Thanks!

Where is everybody? I still can not get it to do anything on the Windows Laptop I have... see my post above.... ARGHHHH!

Okay I got this part figured out but in the windows rooting version it just sits there and will not root my phone...

Help please!
 
Okay, I got it to work finally!!!!! I unplugged everything from the windows machine shut it down and booted back up and when I plugged the phone and usb cable back in, BANG It noticed it and popped up about 5 different notifications saying new hardware found, new hardware found, etc, etc....!!!! I then ran the rooting tool and it worked! WOW!!! Must have been something going on with my stupid windows laptop!
