Well, there is a chance your phone doesn't like the kernel. But first, have you tried wiping cache and dalvik cache since you flashed the kernel?

If that doesn't do any good, you do have that nandroid to go back to, I hope.

wiped the cache time to restore nandroid restore.....success! I'm just going to stay away from overclocking but underclocking I could get into! I'm going to leave well enough alone at this point
