Are you clearing data aswell as the caches? Also what rom are you flashing? Don't give up and unroot just yet. I'm sure you can get it figured out!

Clearing data did it!! I can connect to the pc now and I'm doing a fresh backup so I can get back to this wonderful working spot again WOOHOO :D

Thank you!

The flashed Rom is working great.Sprint Mobile hotspot is working on 3Gs, but I have Wireless tether for 4Gs so it is great, just what I allways wanted.

Got radio version: 2.15.00.09.01
E:unsupported radio versionE:Update failed. Check /sdcard/soff.log.

Any ideas?

PRL? I tried that.

It appeared I had SU access and could install ROM Manager, however when I attempted Titanium backup, It stated I wasn't rooted.

Simple fix! When you open titanium, press menu and then press problems. It will install the lastest busy box and you should be good to go after that! :D

hey I had my Evo rooted, but I was playing with the ROM manager and I updated to an OTA update 1.34 something, which I think it's downgrade not upgrade,Now my Build number is 1.32 Test-Keys.Software Number 1.32.I do have Sprint Mobile Hotspot working.should I re root again?
I thought that the cellphone could not take OTA's update while rooted.

Does it matter that I have S-ON at HBOOT screen?

That is interesting that You have root and s is set on... Well you have confirmed root since you have su access so if I were you I would flash unrevoked forever. It is included in unrevoked 3.2 but for whatever reason it didn't work. So yea just download unrevoked forever and you should be good to go.

Well...it appeared I successfully applied unrevoked-forever using ROM mgr. I installed titanium, clicked on "problems?", installed busybox and got a forced close.

Powered off phone, did battery pull and PRESTO! I can run titanium.

I have the original EVO I pre-ordered before launch day and finally got the nerve to root. :o

Thanks for the help! and the great guide!!

ROOTING
Unrevoked 3.21
HTC EVO 4G (Supersonic)
This Method Also Works On Other Phones Listed By Unrevoked
WINDOWS O.S.

NOTICE: 11/03/11 - Newer Builds 3.30+! NOT ROOTABLE! YET!!
It has been confirmed that new EVO 4G devices being shipped after October 15th with builds 3.30 and up have been reported to be Factory-Shipped with a new HBoot Loader with the new Builds. The unrEVOked 3.21 is not currently able to ROOT this new HBoot Loader. Until a team over at unrEVOked are able to crack this problem, newer EVOs are not able to be ROOTed at this time with this method. I do not recommend using the Downgrade Method, but it may be possible to achieve ROOT from this method. I have not confirmed this. (if you have any information on this, let us know)

To check this turn your device on and press..

MENU > SETTINGS > ABOUT PHONE > SOFTWARE INFORMATION

Any Build Number 3.30 and up are not able to be Rooted by the Method listed below. I do apologize.

Also.. If you see this method of ROOT floating around ([TOOL][ROOT][GUIDE] HBoot 2.02 S-OFF - Updated - xda-developers) I recommend not using it. Many errors are being found during and after the Root Process. I have not tried using this method, so I can't give you 100% that it will or will not work like the forums have stated.

Most of the How-To instructions floating around the internet are VERY vague and not really dummied down for us non-geek Android users. I

I tried to root my evo and i got the red triangle, i need some serious help can anybody help me

I'm sure plenty of folks would be happy to help you with some more details. First make sure your software number lower than 3.30.x . This is found under the software information tab. (menu>settings>about phone>software information)

Then tell us exactly what you did to get to that triangle, and don't panic. Odds are this is fixable.

i was rooting my phone and when it went to boot up the red triangle popped up. i dont know what software info it is because i cant get to the home screen.

Well I've seen that triangle numerous timea for a variety of reasons. A battery pull has always gotten my device to boot normally. That being said i dont know if maybe this is a result of being on 3.3 or not. If so maybe you should wait for another answer.

Can you provide more details? When did you get your ego? What root method did you try?

As hortsu said, in order to gain some help we need some info. The red triangle is because either unrevoked did not gain root or you don't have a recovery image installed. Im guessing you don't have root. Anyways post up your software version and hboot version. Just FYI if you were not aware unrevoked does not currently work with the above software and hboot. Let us know and we can go from there.
