I think I can handle that. I've tinkered with ubuntu a time or 2
The download is 756 mb so you may need a DVD.

Not officially, but yes, you can do it.I'm finally going to S-OFF later and I just wanted to know if I could do the procedure with Windows 7 64-bit and Harmonia as the ROM on the phone? I'm a little iffy with doing the wire trick cause I just got the phone and all of this is new to me.![]()
I used Win7 64bit and Harmonia with no problems once I found out you need Qpst installed or the process won't complete due to a missing driver
Qpst? I don't have that installed and I got S-OFF perfectly fine with 64-bit.

The JuopunutBear wire trick doesn't require the diagnostic drivers that QPST uses and in fact specifies the HTCDriver3.0.0.007 drivers linked from the procedure on the unlimited.io website.Qpst? I don't have that installed and I got S-OFF perfectly fine with 64-bit.
I don't know if anyone has actually tried doing it this way or not but if you want support from the unlimited.io staff that is the current procedure they expect you to follow.1. Relock the bootloader if it's currently unlocked
2. Flash the RUU
3. Download and install the OTA
4. HTC unlock the bootloader
5. Perform the JuopunutBear procedure on unlimited.io
6. Flash custom recovery
7. Flash superuser, restore a nandroid, or install a rooted custom ROM
So can you turn s-off while on a custom rom i.e mobsters unSENSEable?

The current version of the process specifies flashing the RUU and HTC unlocking as prerequisites but doesn't specify a rooted ROM. Here is the procedure to follow if you want to do it the way it is currently documented by unlimited.io:

I think someone needs to try getting S-OFF exactly the way it's documented on the unlimited.io website before making changes to any existing guides. My guess is that rooting before doing S-OFF with the current version of JBear won't be a problem but I haven't used that version and theoretically you won't get support from the unlimited.io staff doing it that way.Do you think the newbie thread needs an update to reflect this? Perhaps a statement early on that if S-OFF is desired, to do it before flashing SuperUser, or installing a custom ROM?
Do we know yet if Superuser on a stock ROM interferes with J-Bear in anyway?
i tried this cant get into bootloader did reinstall htc drivers and controlbear and i think it recognized my phone cause the qhsusb dload message came up but phone is dead had it plugged in all night im lostTaiPan
Pull battery, volume down + power to get into boot loader. Put phone in fastboot, relock the boot loader and then run the ruu and it'll fix it. I had this issue and had to run ruu twice. The only way I could get by the qhsusb issue was to install qpst before starting the s-off process.
No. You need to be on an early build of GB on the Evo 3D for that to work and those RUU's aren't compatible with the Evo V.does the revolutionary tool
work for us? I see that it supports EVO3d, but not sure if that counts for the EVO V
