Root Samsung transform ultra seems hard bricked

Usb jig may be your best option @ this point if you don't want to send your device for a trip . I had made a home made usb jig and works excellent w/the TU. You may want to give it a shot !

My ? Is if your power button is dead will the jig power on unit? I can not get my PC to recognize the phone because it has no power at all. When you used the jig, were you able to power on your phone? Will the jig on ebay worl for galaxy s2 or the 301k resister? Thank you Oamilcar.:)

Yes, the jig will power up the unit even if the power button is broken. You don't need to use any buttons @ all. All you do is insert the jig and that's it you're in download mode. I use a 300k resister . I had found that the jig they sell on ebay for the S2 will not work on the TU ( I'm telling you this cause i order 2 by accident and none of them worked on my TU, but they did on my S2) . The 300k resister you can get them anywhere for less than a dollar. There is guides all over goggle on how to make a jig yourself.

Edit:
Here is a quick video I made showing you that it works on the TU.

Good luck!

I tested 6.2.5 for days then decided to release it in its beta stages because I sold my ultra and could no longer test for bugs. Keep in mind that I 6.2.5 only has minor bugs with apps settings etc. I know for a fact that it will boot your device. The only possible way for someone to brick their ultra is if they messed up something on their part. Whether its flashing 6.2.5 for the wrong phone or not following instructions. Its not required to partition your sdcard upon installation of the rom so that's not the issue here. While it's impossible for any phone to install Megatron that is specifically made for the ultra, it is possible for any ultra to install Megatron for any other phone including the lg marquee's Megatron 6.2.5. Ever since Megatron's debuted on the ultra almost 1 year ago. Only one person has bricked their device in a situation where it was actually the developers fault.

At this point your only hope is Samsung, if your phone is less than 1 year old your still under the manufactures warranty. Whatever you do, do not tell them it was root or that you flashed a rom. As far as we know, we don't even know what root is when your talking to them. Just say you turned your phone off and it won't turn back on now. As long as there are no signs of physical damage they will repair your phone for free.

Just a reminder that you pretty much know (or should know) going in that undertaking a root-related activity might render your device non-functional (for a variety of reasons) as we have plastered in all of the all-things-root guides here at AF:

Quick note / disclaimer: as always, you (and not the carrier) are ultimately responsible for any root-related activities on your phone.

You should understand not only the benefits of rooting, but also any possible consequences (voided warranty, boot-loops, bricking, etc.) that might occur as a result of your root-related actions.

After all, the devices don't come pre-rooted--presumably because the carriers and manufacturers want to control / limit what software runs on the devices they sell (which, ironically, is why we root them in the first place ;) :)).

Perfect example, i can now confirm that another user Queendreadhead that experienced the same issue as marc accidentally installed the LG marquee megatron 6.2.5 on his Transform ultra a few weeks ago. Megatron is available for 3 devices, Transform ultra was the first, Lg marquee 2nd, and now the galaxy prevail is getting a taste of the lil guy. With all 3 phones combined, i have over 300 actively using the ROM I cant protect everyone Make sure you all check that its for your specific device before installing or updating a ROM. Oh by the way, If your running megatron and dont see a OTA update push to your device by me for an update but you see a 6.2.5 megatron version available, chances are the that specific version of the rom isnt for your device. My OTA's are always pushed out before the thread is updated. Word of advice to everyone, Stick to the stable release version and wait for an OTA UNLESS your familiar with the device and absolutely know what your doing, either way your putting your phone at risk and thats your own fault.

Hey chevanlol360,

Does the Megatron ROM's updater-script file not have asserts in it to check the ro.product.device or similarly device-unique property that would keep them from being flashed / installed on the wrong device?

It does for the ultra and prevail but I'm having trouble getting it for the marquee, but I'm working on it to prevent these accidents.

I wasn't talking about that lol, are you use to the forums yet? Follow this instructions for the the ultras 6.2.5 Megatron http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=5920324 Please note that 6.2.5 is still in development for the transform ultra but still stable enough to flash and use as daily drive. Flash at your own risk. As long as you go to that link above and follow the post you should be good.

I wasn't talking about that lol, are you use to the forums yet? thats for beta testing. I can report to you how everything goes and no really not use to the forums pm might be better i follow instructions well get scared of messing up something
this is not the first phone i rooted/flashed

The megatron 6.25 rom I downloaded said sprint/lg marquee. I called samsung and that said my warrantee ended in march. After researching the jigs, many sellers say you must have some sort of power to the screen. It appears my flash damaged the bootloader. Any other way to fix it, The phone is not worth the 70 dollars plus shipping from samsung.

you may never heard of a jig working on a TU cause no one ever try it but here is the the prof that it works ... i was able to flash a rom after inserting the jig.

Now the question is will it be able to safe a hard brick ? i don't know but will test soon and report back

I don't know but for some reason it says installation aborted ...trying to flash the marque rom so the ro.product.device is working

edit: sry the prevail rom
so i will try the marque rom after...

Oi, All... Same problem here, hard bricked my M930. I suspect I used the wrong CWM to install Megatron 6.2.5. The phone will not power on, and the usb jig isn't working. Anybody else figure this out yet?

scary alien
Could you please remove the thread: http://androidforums.com/transform-...s-clockwork-mod-recovery-transform-ultra.html

This CWM is responsible for bricking every single one of the dev's phones here including myself twice. there was an issue with a binary in the phone where if you try to flash a kernel(boot.img) you would have a device in the exact same state as Marc's. I fear this might be the culprit..

I have created a new thread with a new build that corrects this problem and is fully stable. Also I'm not sure but I noticed in the Sticky All in one Root Guide that his CWM_odin.tar is NOT my MD5 so I think he got it from Bads3ctor and that would be the OLD CWM that will brick your phone

just don't want this to happen to anyone else.

There are instructions and warning in the Megatron thread about installing the correct CWM First before Flashing any new ROM

In bads3actor"s Odin Thread, he has a cwm.tar link posted and im pretty sure that is OLD cwm. I think NGD1 got his links from that thread.

I only mention because it might be leading to confusion. Just need some cleanup

thanks Alien :)
