that proves nothing. It could be any phone it doesnt say anywhere its a droid x. TOTAL FAIL!!

Yeah I called and the Verizon rep confirmed that a Droid X was ordered so yeah....

He is legit and lives really close to me (30 mins or less) and invited me to come see it tomorrow. If that isn't good enough for you I don't know what is. Haha

I'm actually ~90 minutes from Bowie and have the day off, but not really worth it to me to go see it. I'll have two of them in less that a week (hopefully).

Got my hopes up after reading this and give it a whirl. The CSR told me it wasn't possible and that the call immediately prior to mine was about the same thing and she researched it and determined that it was a no go. She was very nice and humored me and attempted to order it. She couldn't even get past the first screen; the system told her it could not look up the item. She then told me I could log onto my online acct and order immediately when it became available etc, etc. It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't stuck with this sh!tty BlackBerry. But I can only barely access the internet, email sucks, interface is awful, etc. Makes me really miss my Droid...

Here's the ebay link. Looks like he sold it before he even had it, which is a violation of eBay's seller policy.

We know this. We're wondering if the $100 rebate applies to those who go with the 1-year pricing option ($370 before rebate). Or are they limiting the rebate only to those who get it on a 2-year contract?

And what I am saying is the $100 rebate is only for those people who sign up for a 2 year commitment.....

Not really different from drop shipping.

Is selling something you don't even have an accepted Ebay practice? in Community Help Boards in Community

He had a tracking number for his product, while not in possession, he did have ownership.

Cant hate the guy for being a capitalist!

With that said I would like to see pics of the DX you received and sold for $1k:D

I'm kind of curious to hear back from this guy. He was all over this thread yesterday and today I haven't heard anything. Will check back later tonight to see if it's legit.

well i just tried myself and now go....however the rep was very nice and told me that i could order and 12am on the 15th over the phone if i wanted. she also stated that there is no presale on the X due to the supply issue that they had with the incredible....they want to make sure that there are plenty for phone orders/online/store the day of launch...

It seems to me the best way of doing that would be to take preorders so they know what to expect. I think they are trying to cause hype and make it look really popular by showing lines waiting for it and then selling out first day. :(

I talked a rep on the phone and he stated that I could get a one year contract for the X and it would cost $369 and that I would need to wait for the rebate that he could put through for me for $100. So the 1 year price is actually $269 after the $100 rebate. He stated that I would not get an automatic rebate when ordering over the phone or going inside a store, but online I could. So I may just wait and order online where I can get an instant discount and just pay $269.

Yeah well from what i heard with the early upgrade promo you have to get a 2 year contract if you aren't eligible on the 15th to get the X

The OP is probably enjoying their new X so much that he/she forgot about us ;)

He already sold it but yeah if I had it I probably would be too busy playing with it to post. :p

There's no reason not to believe him though. Call Verizon if you care THAT much and give them the order and location number and they will confirm that a Droid X was sold.
