Root [SCRIPT]DM for CM7/CTMOD [UPDATE 2/10]

well with me it does change to dm mode and it shows as a com port. workshop connects to the com port but i press read and it says "phone not answering". when it used to do that i would go to the other menu and change that too.

It's weird how some phones can use this and others can't . Personally, I've tested this with both CTMod 3.3 ,3.4 and CM7 with absolutely no problems whatsoever . ;)

It can't read it until you send the password and unlock it. I don't recall ever trying to read my phone. Did you attempt to change PRL?
The real reason to even use CDMA is to change PRL. You can do other things but if you don't know what you're doing you can mess stuff up

Hey guys, I wanted to let you guys know that I have finally successfully changed my PRL on CTMod 3.5. Basically here's what you have to do:

1. Download Script Manager from Play Store and install it.

2. Download this script file to run in Script Manager: dmcm7.txt

3. Copy script to your phone's sd card.

4. Follow Monster's Tut on how to enable DM Mode here: http://androidforums.com/galaxy-pre...496242-script-dm-cm7-ctmod-update-2-10-a.html

5. Once DM Mode is enabled I recommend changing the COM port your phone is using on your computer til you find one that it will use.

6. You'll be using CDMA Workshop to find what port it'll use while changing them.
http://www.cdma -ware.com/workshop/demo/cdma_workshop.rar (without the space)

7. After you get your phone to connect on a port, download this package of PRLs: prl.zip

8. In CDMA Workshop click the Security Tab and under Passwords click the dropdown and click on the one for Samsung (Default), then click Send button.

9. Then click the Tab for Other and under PRL click Write and browse to the folder that you should have extracted and pick a PRL to flash.

10. After that's complete close CDMA Workshop, it'll ask you if you wanna restart your device to apply changes, click yes, your device will restart.

Congrats, you have successfully changed your PRL!! :D

FYI: The CDMA Workshop version that comes from the link I provided is 3.8.3, I had problems with the old 2.7 when I tried before, but this method went through without a hitch on 3.8.3, also I used 11115 PRL, it's been said that it's a Sprint Business Class PRL which they hinted around for better signal and data transfer speed as well as having priority access to Sprint's towers, but anyway HAVE FUN!! :p :D

Thank you for this. I will have to try It out when I get home from work. :D

I posted this back on March 9th when I found out that Monsters script would work for CTMod. LOL, Sometimes it helps to read back a ways.:D
I went ahead and updated it to 3.5. The last time I updated it was for 3.3. Just remember that until the ROM is changed from the port it was based on, you should always be able to use Monsters script to change the PRL.

Seems like this was meant to be easy. I read for awhile last light and tried to follow the directions in this post and others. What I am having issues with is the cdma workshop. As you guys/girls know this program is about imposible to find for some reason. It seems like it would be easier to get a hold of with all the people looking for it. The highest version I could find was 3.2.6 but my com port is on 8 and this program won't let you access that port without paying for the program. The link in slayer's post wasn't working for me. I thought I read in one post that wet was having this issue but I can't find the post just yet.

Try the method I posted here: http://androidforums.com/galaxy-pre...t-dm-cm7-ctmod-update-2-10-a.html#post4120803

Thank you Xruptor. I did try that method without any luck. I was real tired when i did though. I will give another go.

You can get a hold of cdma workshop by doing a Google search for CDMA Workshop, click the link for cdma -ware.com, I recommend getting the demo from their site, the version is 3.8.3 and it worked great for me...

Thank you again, will do. Just made it to here with QPST. No phone even though it shows in device manager. Anyhow I will look for 3.8.3 again. :D

This is where I am stuck now. I can connect but when I try to send the default password I get Failed..Device does not answer. I am already connected. Not sure what I am missing.

Did you get it to connect/read when it was set on the MAIN tab? Doesn't look that way because you have no numbers in the boxes to the left.

I always get it to do that. Also, keep in mind that this will not work on all phones. I know a few people that can't get this to work at all.

Thank you wet. I am connected according to CDMA but when I hit the read button I get Failed..Device does not answer. It's all good though. I am going to give up for now. I have good service in my area. This is just one of those things I thought would be nice to use. No big deal. :)

Right on. I'm like you. LOL, I really didn't need to do it, I just wanted to.:D
