Accessories Seidio 1750 Follow Up

No offense to anyone here, and I mean it, but...

There have been so many conflicting reports here on the Seidio 1750 and, frankly, so many other batteries, that I've concluding the "battery reports" here are totally useless.

What is needed is an accepted test suite, a way to run the suite, and a way to record and present the results. Otherwise, all that gets reported is widely varying anecdotal information.

Seidio also recommends the following:

In order to obtain the full capacity of your Seidio battery, we highly recommend that you leave the battery/your phone on the charger for an additional 2-3 hours after the charging indicator turns green or the battery status shows full.

Hey guy, is it damaging to the battery if I use it once WITHOUT giving it the full 8+ hour charge? I didn't read that on the back of the box until I got home last night, and I'd hate to think that I've already screwed myself.

DO NOT let your battery get to no charge and stay there for days. I let my seidio sit for about 4-5 days with no charge while I tried stock for a while to compare.

Yea that's definitely bad for your battery. Kind of ruins the control and could explain why your % got worse.

No I don't think it's damaging. I don't believe these Lithium batteries depend on that sort of memory. Perhaps it would be good to do at some point but not doing it the first time doesn't make sense to me since they don't have the memory like the nickel batteries did.

I wish I bookmarked the battery site from a thread a couple weeks ago which talks about this. Maybe someone else did?

Is there such a thing? If so then I'm sure people will be happy to use it. Until then though, this type of user-to-user thread is the only source of real-life information. As such it's a valuable resource.

Well someone might want to tell Seidio that, since the little piece of cardboard that comes in the box says "performance will increase after 5-6 full charges".
sorry, if you were talking to me, i didn't mean to imply that i have the seidio battery, i only have stock

I agree, but the reports would be useful if the info had any sort of consistency. I have no idea whether the Seidio 1750 battery will have about a third more "staying power" than the OEM battery in my Inc, especially in light of the fact that the battery sells for about $50.

So, you would rather have sketchy, inaccurate "user" reports than actual facts?

The extended batteries have more capacity. That is a fact. Joey or Jill getting 2 (or 16) more hours is just conjecture.

Now, whether 35% more juice = 33% or 39% more uptime is a question that can never me 100% accurately determined.

I have had the Seidio 1750 battery for a couple of weeks now and It is way better than the stock battery. The only time I have a real problem is when I use an app called "Redpokerclub". If I play for about a half hour by battery decreases to 40% very quickly. Other than that the battery rocks!

I've had my DI since Day 1. Been using the 1750 for about 5 days now. I can say that the battery has provided me with more battery life equivalent with the 35% claimed increase in mAh, nothing more, nothing less. I am satisfied with the results.

For this I am happy. Sure it was $50, it's probably overpriced. I have had success with camera batteries on eBay before, so good deals can be had. But those are camera batteries. They rarely get used. This battery has to work 24 hours a day, for at least 12-18 months before replacement. That's roughly 10,000 hours of use. At 12 hours per use, that is about 833 full charge cycles. I'll stick with the name brand battery with a good reputation.

my .02 cents.

great, so now i need to find a deal to get this battery for no more than $30 b/c ill be damned if i pay $50 for a battery that will likely be $20 on ebay in 6 months

that's a half a year of great battery life lol, that's worth an extra 30 to me.

Agreed. ^ 6 months from now I wont even have this phone anymore and what good would it do then?

Picked up my Seidio 1750 from Amazon earlier today for $41 :D

( and by picked up I meant ordered :P )

So what is everbody who got the Seidioi battery doing with the stock incredible battery? How do you maintain it as a backup battery?

the stock was at maybe 20% when i put the seidio in and i just stuck the stock battery in the plastic package the seidio came in and put it in a drawer.

It's best to store it in a cool place at 40% if you aren't switching them after each charge.

I'll use it for emergency purposes mostly.. But leaving it fully charged or fully drained is bad for it. Heat is the worst.

+1

Waiting for technology in this era is almost foolish because you'll just keep on waiting and something better and cheaper will be out by then.

Just do it.

I picked up the Seidio 1750mAh earlier on Amazon and it should be here tomorrow. After I put it through some cycles (really don't think that would be "necessary"), I will see if I can put aside time where I can do concrete tests of the battery life using a variety of methods).

yup, you guy made a convert out of me. I ordered mine today. I am golfing on the 28th and want to try to get through the round with the Seidio...with GPS on. I will have my stock with me as a back-up. BTW...I love this phone!

It said it wouldn't ship until then but I got a shipping notice today and will get it tomorrow. Not sure how I got it but if it makes any difference I signed up for the Amazon Prime trial (2-day shipping) and like I said, got the shipping info today

yes yes, all of you fall into the seidio trap of taking advantage of people by being first to market. baaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh
