Root Sense Hero 2.1 ROM for ROOT Fully Working

You don't have to wipe the SD card when flashing ROMs, unless you're using apps2sd. And even then you only have to wipe the apps, not the main partition of the card with your music and so on.
 
VillainROM 5.4 doesn't get past checking the SIM card on my hero... anyone got an idea?
 
I think it will backup the SD card and do a full wipe. Second flash got me the same error. Ill do it when i have more time and am not bogged down with uni assignmnets ;)

Tried that, three times in a row. It won't wipe Dalvic for some reason, the other two steps worked as they're supposed to. Anyway, I succeeded in installing the Sense HERO 2.1 ROM and that now runs fine. Still wondering why it didn't work with the Villain ROM...
 
Do you have a SIM pin code or whatever? Those cause a lot of ROMs to crash on first boot.
 
Anyone having GPS/Wifi/Data issues with the latest sense rom, im considering it as Im getting very frustrated with the villain constantly losing wifi or gps

Hi Jaff, mine seems fine, dont use GPS much but when I have its been good.

On another note Stickman is developing a new version based on GSM leak, so alot of the inherant problems with the previous leaks may/should go away, so may be worth holding on for that release.... maybe... :D

A GSM leak? :D Any idea how recent the leaked version is?

Thats interesting, I love the Villian, its smooth and quick, the conectivity seems lacking though..

I have not being able to track my runs propperly because the GPS just dies.

I believe it was leaked in the last few days, not sure when he is gonna release it though, I do know a new version of sensehero is out later tonight (v2.2 amazingly enough :D) so I will give that a try and report back.

Maybe he'll do a better job of it than nprussel, but I didn't really like the Slide version of HTC sense.
 
My phone was an orange branded Hero but i bought it unlocked. If i try and flash it with a standard HTC rom will this mean it locks itself again? ATM i am on MoDaCo 3.2, i tried flashing to SenseHero a few times and failed. Am wondering if there might be an advantage to going back to a stock rom...
 
I don't think there are any advantages to a stock ROM compared to Modaco, but no you won't lock your phone to orange again.
 
Sense Hero 2.2 works perfect on my HTC Hero (Orange UK).

However, why was the new 3d gallery taken out? That was an epic gallery!
 
Thanks, found it just after posting! However, installed "Friend Stream" and its installed, but can't put it as widget and the app doesnt show anything when I click refresh (All set up... )

Youll need to do the following

Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Htc Sense

Clear Data and then return to home and check your widgets.
 
Can anybody help please?
I installed the 2.2 ROM and its running great except for the GPS which isnt getting any signal at all. I installed the latest radio but nothing (although my signal has improved a lot. It is meant to effect the GPS too, right? Im a complete noob - Im amazed I rooted it at all!)
 
has anyone have a problem where your phone restarts itself? I got it a couple times after installing this ROM. probably 3 times it restarted within an hour or two?

I had this happen twice last night for the first time since installation but I did put mmszap on my phone last night hasn't done it since i uninstalled it
 
I went to modaco 3.2 to sensehero 2.2 msm's wouldn't work, i didn't actually get a far as making them send but its not a major problem
