welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF i never heard of that. so any text you send no matter where you send it, it will go to him? i'm not sure what you mean really. or is that he can read your texts and emails on his phone?

i would also read this:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html. read the life after root sections.

That's horrible!

Sounds like he installed something like this: Mobile Spy - Monitor SMS Text Messages, Call Info and GPS Locations on iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Mobile and Symbian OS Smartphones. Spy Software for Monitoring your Cell Phone

Maybe start by calling their contact number to see if you can find out if it is their software, and maybe how the software works/how to disable it?

First off Welcome to the Forums

Now down to business. I am not completely certain but I do believe this could be construed as an act of terrorism. This would be the same as an illegal wire tap. Because you could claim and prove he is stalking you (gathering text, and emails illegally) I would first report this to the police. He should be in jail for the simple act of betrayal of your wife's and your trust. I would also go talk to prosecuting attorneys and give them what ever evidence is needed to prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. This is like some high school prank this is a very serious offence.

I would forgive him of his evil act against you (forgiving him releases him from having free rental space in your head). He still has consequences for his actions though.

Hey bud...first off, that is just downright wrong....wrong, wrong, wrong.

Second of all, I was a brand Noob who didn't know crap just a couple weeks ago. You're already rooted, the hard part is done. Pick a ROM, backup everything, flash a new ROM. It's not hard, go to the rooting for dummies - gingerbread edition and follow the steps. You can skip to the 'life after root' part. I was just as hopelessly lost as you, I've learned it's actually quite easy.

Oh, and install My Backup Root and Titanium backup right now. They're both in the market. I've learned a lot in the last week or so, and happy to help.

hey Scamp479,
i moved and created this thread for you as i think that this is important and felt that it deserved a thread of its own. feel free to edit the title if you like.

What "Huge Noob" said... Your phone is already rooted. Go into recovery, wipe it down and flash a rom. Problem solved and you have a spiffy new rom to play with.

You may want to hold off on backing up the apps you have installed until you can confirm the program he did use. You can backup the ones you have installed. And backup you sms/mms. However if you want to pursue legal actions you need to leave the phone as is for now.

Don't know if he is on the same provider you are but this act is also a violation of the Subscribers agreement. You can get in touch with his provider explained the actions and they should cut his phone off for the violation.

I also believe that if you were to contact sprint and explain the situation to them they could possible send you two new phones (provided you have insurance) but because of the situation maybe you wont need the insurance.

Goodluck on your decision and please keep us posted.

agreed definitely do not backup apps before flashing a new rom. i would not even make a nandroid backup yet until you know that whatever spyware that was on there is gone.

Wow. Low blow.

Id make a nandroid just to have a backup of exactly what he did in case you want to use it against him later on.

Do a full wipe in recovery and then install a new fresh ROM.
