Shipping date speculation

A lawsuit is too much. A boycott of Google devices doesn't seem extreme to me. Why would you order a device from Google again? You can pre-order the same device from Gamestop and you'll get the same Play Store credit, you'll get it sooner and you won't have to pay shipping. Why in the would would you do business with Google. There is no advantage. You'll be charged more and get your device later.

I've agreed with you (mostly) up until this point. But in all honesty, if you want to boycott Google, then why did you buy a Nexus? :D

I had nothing but good will for Google until this. I'll buy digital stuff from them. They can deliver that immediately. Devices they obviously can't handle.

My daughter just walked in with a box about the right size for my N7.

I got all excited until I realized it was the case I ordered separately from Amazon two ays ago.

So, here I sit with a really nice case for my non-existant N7.

I ordered from Google Play on the 27th so at least I should be getting it soon.

:)

I am just about kicking myself as it now seems not only would I have saved $18 but I would have received my Nexus 7 sooner, and I would have the return/exchange ease of use at Sam's.

Finally - just got charged. Never been so happy for someone to take my money.

Even if we did get it next Friday, the 20th, that is still mid-July. Who is the judge to say what "mid" means?

If we're being technical, the 20th is still within the interquartile range, so could be "mid" July.

"Mid" could mean a lot of things

Um..how many days are in a month?

My bank just deducted the money for Nexus7. The charge is listed as pending as of 3:20 EST. I ordered the N7 in the afternoon of July 4.

(how's that for a first post?)

Welcome to the forums GoogleGirl. :ciao:

Do you work for Google? Do you have my Nexus 7? Do you know where it is? :banghead:
Haha no, I used to really like Google, now I'm just annoyed but really the wait is to be expected, it's the not knowing that is so annoying. On hold with them now...not that it will get me very far...

Great 1st post and Welcome to Android Forums mitch.:)

even though you got confirmation before me:D

The Sams club across the street from my office has them in stock for $246 which is less than what Google is charging and I can get it today. I am trying to cancel my order w/Google.

Ok, so folks are being shipped that ordered 7/5 at the same time as 6/27 - what gives? Is there ANY rhyme or reason to how the google play store sends devices out?

Lesson learned - Software = google play store, Hardware = Brick and Mortar or Amazon......!

got charged on my credit card,
however I email Google telling them I want to cancel my order a weeks ago,

hum.....

I thought if the Nexus 7 you "pre-ordered" goes back to google as the mailman could not find you - they will cancel your order!

If they are loading a pallet onto a UPS truck with 100 devices, all of those devices will most likely be going to the same UPS regional processing center. So lets say it is going to MA, they will probably take the first 100 orders going to MA for that pallet. That save UPS (and by extension Google) money as UPS doesn't have to break pack (split the pallet up) until it has reached the processing center in Shrewsbury, MA.

If only 99 people in MA pre ordered on the 27th and one pre-ordered on 7/5, that one guy gets lucky.

Trust me, they are not printing labels in chronological order, sticking them on boxes, and handing them to a UPS guy.
